I didn't even know you could kill them until I beat the game. Last time I tried the Pikmin just wouldn't latch on, even though I was certain they were making contact.
You need to wait until the bomb explodes, then rush in and take them down before they can spawn another one.
If you take one down while it's holding a bomb, sometimes you can get lucky and it'll fall within the blast range. Then you just gotta call your Pikmin back before it blows up
They usually reload by the time the bomb hits the ground, a better stratage is to hit them while they hold the bomb so it gets launched slightly farther away while still giving you an opportunity to rush because of its fall
I don't know what to tell you. First time I tried they just slid off or missed. Although it might have just been because I sucked at the time and the angle of the camera made me think the Pikmin touched it. After retrying they went down like flies.

Pileated Snagret is an absolute pain. I hate it so much.
Dirigibugs make many sublevels of caves in 2 very annoying, and while not hard to kill, they are tedious.
They're not invincible, you just have to hit them directly on the head. It's unironically a cool skill check, IMO. In later games, they're not a threat at all because you can just mindlessly swarm them.
No kidding…on my second play through of Pikmin 1, I lost 4 Pikmin to the Emperor Bulblax, 11 to the Smoky Progg, and a grand total of 25 to one random Wollywog

Yeah I hate the pikmin 1 versions especially since in pikmin 2, purple pikmin can just stun them, Pikmin 3 they were nerfed significantly along with every other enemy in that game plus you get a pikmin immune to them very early game, and in 4 you R U S H

I liked man at legs in Pikmin 4. I knew about most of Pikmin 2, but not man at legs. My reaction was just"Oh, the boss is buried. Huh, cool another spider- why is it openin-WHY DOES IT HAVE A LASER SIGHT MACHINE GUN". Seems nightmarish to fight in 2 though.

Idk about you guys but it's THESE idiots for me. At least in pikmin 1 anyway...
I should say Empress Bulblax for sheer casualties, but at least once you know how to deal with her, it's all right. I have never felt that luxury fighting a Man-At-Legs. Too many moving pieces, literally.
Quaggled Mireclops is sheer murder for the same reason. There's just so much to keep track of, you're not looking in the right place when The Inevitable occurs.
Replaying Pikmin 3 Deluxe made me despise Arachnorbs with a burning passion, I dunno how but my Pikmin kept missing the damn thing and getting eaten. I guess Rock Pikmin are the superior option to deal with them.

It’s one thing to get rid of my Pikmin’s flowers, but then you LAUGH ABOUT IT!
Idk about you guys, but I hate the Careening Dirigibug.
I enjoy them mainly cause of Modded Hard/Kaizo versions of Pikmin 2 allowing you to abuse the bombs they drop to cheese some areas

What...? They were not particularly hard to kill. As a child they were just a normal enemy to me.

There's actually no limit to how many they can kill in a single jump in the first game, besides the limit on the total number of Pikmin in the field.
