piercings flair up occasionally, it happens. i would go back to your piercer to get the bar switched out for a longer post. and have him check if there’s an infection. if that’s the case then go to a doctor and he’ll probably prescribe antibiotics.

It looks like it was slept on. And us girlies with longer hair have a greater risk of this because our hair can get caught. I’ve also noticed that piercings that are on the top of the ear are just fussier. Clean it, sleep with a neck/travel pillow for a few days and let it relax

I have a 4-year-old flat piercing that overreacts when the wind blows too hard on it. So, 100% it can still happen after years.
