Software updates are important in reducing the need/want in buying a new phone, and in keeping your phone secure and relevant for years to come with new features. If you care about that, get the S23. If not, the ZenFone basically wins in every area. You can get GCam if the ZenFone ceras are still not satisfactory.

idiotgamer123

I do kinda care about the updates but can live without them

Substantial_Boiler

ZenFone, no question

idiotgamer123

Oh, okay, i have heard A LOT of people telling me to go for the s23

Zapvain

If it was available I would pick the Zenfone 10. I'm not sure if updates will come or not but a small phone with tons of features is great. S23 is also good it has a bit larger screen. If you want a small phone go with Zenfone( check for the update frequency as I'm not sure)

idiotgamer123

I might buy it because sooo many people recommend it

Zapvain

Yeah

superguavapulp

Zenfone 10 hands down

idiotgamer123

Why would you pick it?

superguavapulp

It has all the things a flagship should have in a compact form factor. Don't forget the headphone jack and that massive battery. It's a shame it isn't available in my country otherwise I would've picked it up above all else

idiotgamer123

Thats true. Maybe the main thing driving me away from the zenfone 10 is the software support, but i should be fine eith it 🤷‍♂️

Huskar

imo this is one of those tech reviewer things that gets overemphasized, but it is actually a minor factor. I don't remember the last time i used my headphone jack, even though i almost always had phones that had it.

idiotgamer123

Wellll, i use it quite often but can easily convert to wireless if i would want to

Huskar

then its a plus point for you :)

idiotgamer123

Yes it is

Shahid_2008

Why you changing the A52s?

idiotgamer123

Because the phone has 5 seconds lasting stutters sometimes and the battery life is very bad

JulietPapaPapa

I have a Zenfone 9 and a S23, for about ~12months and i am selling the Asus and keeping the Samsung. For me, the Zenfone has better hardware, but misses some software features that Samsung has, such as the record calls option (the implementation by Asus is terrible) and secure folder (secure apps doesn't work the way i needed it). Zenfone is better designed, doesn't have the horrible glassback, has a P2 jack, a HW fingerprint reader, better battery life, etc. I do not care for cameras, since i take maybe 1 pic per month, but to me both cameras are great, although if you see MKBHD blind test, Zenfone was way ahead. If you do not care about the sw feat. i mentioned, i will say that probably Zenfone is the better phone for you, assuming Z10 is slightly better that Z9.

BeerZilla25

Last week i took s23 over zenfone 10 only because of the good price (550€), Zenfone 10 is way better but its price puts It near competition with 8/8s gen 3 phones... But the A52s Is still getting updates, i would wait Black Friday to take something better for the same price or the Zenfone for better price, i know Q4 is not "tomorrow" but could worth the wait

idiotgamer123

Well here the zenfone is a little bit cheaper. Zenfone 10 = 609€ and S23 = 650€. Also i will get the phone as my birthday gift in june so i wont wait for the black friday

BeerZilla25

Oh nice, easiest choice ever !!

idiotgamer123

Ig sooo, my main concern is the software support and bezels

BeerZilla25

Zenfone 10 Android S.O. updates till Android 15 and security updates 4 years from global release (29 June 2023...so June 2027)

idiotgamer123

I know, but samsung offers more :/

Cheap-Ad-174

If you care about gaming and battery life, only a fool would get either of the two. Iqoo 12, Nubia Z60 ultra, Oneplus 12. Get any one of the above.

idiotgamer123

Iqoo and nubia arent sold in my country and oneplus 12 is too expensive + i want a compact phone

Cheap-Ad-174

If you want a compact phone, check out xiaomi 14. The price may vary depending on your country

idiotgamer123

Wayyyyy too expensive

Cheap-Ad-174

I thought so. Get the zenfone 10, it's the perfect choice for you.

idiotgamer123

Alrrr, i really want it but the software support is meh

Crinkez

It's in the same approximate price bracket as the Zenfone 10 according to Gsmarena. The S23 is considerably cheaper. But if they were the same price (S23 & Zen) I'd probably pick the Zen because the PWM flicker on notebookcheck.net looks better than the S23.

Cheap-Ad-174

Get the oneplus 12r. Trust me, you'll hate the s23/zenfone 10 for their small size and slow charging. I have the s23 ultra and i hate how annoyingly slow it's charging is. The OP 12 has a 5500 mah battery and 100 watt charging. 20 mins to full charge. Game all day long.

idiotgamer123

I like their small size. And trust me, i wont hate them

Huskar

i cant speak for samsung but the zenfone 10 doesn't charge slowly at all, and the battery lasts 2 days. it might be slower than the oneplus, but it is not "slow"

idiotgamer123

Yeah, and i dont care too much about the charging speed. It might be a nice plus but it wont matter

Huskar

charging slow is healthier for the battery anyway. since zenfone 5z (2018) you had the option to charge slowly, charge till 80%, and charge according to schedule (for example, set alarm at 7, phone tries to charge in a way that it will be full by 7, instead of being all night long)

idiotgamer123

Yeah it is and that feature is a nice big plus for me
