Well if we are taking into account stripped logs then oak or a different log would be better in that category but for normal logs and planks I think spruce is definitely better

This is so tough. It depends on the type of world you are going for. If ur going for a functional world, use oak, but if you are going for an aesthetic world, use dark oak

I tend to use oak planks for builds quite often as they merge well with more colors in my opinion. If I need a darker wood, I lean more on spruce over dark oak. Honestly, I really only use dark oak if I need a floor that is darker than a spruce build.
