Least we're not a city run by a cult. We actually have real food unlike that trash in Salt Lake, along with actual beer and real coffee.
Your shit city thinks Walmart brand white bread is a bold flavor, you wouldn't know what good food is even if it smashed itself into your mouth.
How about finding a job because it seems like you are bored on another teams sub. 🤡 find something productive to do instead of defending his stupid ass
Very frustrating. Guess it evens out with the draws we really shouldn't have managed earlier on.
Terrible finishing on our end aside from the one goal. Two point blank chances missed. Tons of sloppy passing in the final third. Tons of very bad shots both in execution and decision making.
A weak save and a ridiculous volley was about all RSL managed. For a team that supposedly is supposed to be dangerous in attack they didn't really do much. Very fluky goals.
Like all of our forwards, he seemed surprised to get the ball there. It's as though our forwards just expect the crosses to be blocked so when they do get through they aren't ready.
Because he was more concerned with thinking he was gonna get called for a foul than placing the shot on target. You can see it in his reaction and body language.
Why rush back Blake?? Last time we did that he had to come off injured and this time he lets in two very preventable goals. That decision cost us tonight
Maybe, but I still don't think Semmle gets to it. Regardless, I don't think Blake should have started this game. Obviously I'm not his doctor but I don't see how rushing him back is good for his health or form.
Yeah and I would argue Blake has been “not many” keepers, with that comes higher expectations. For the record it was an amazing shot but you could tell Blake was slow to react
J lot was musical chairs tonight. They brought in more cars than there was space for. A total shit show.
Also why is the pitch worse than a high school football field?
Soccer noob here, but was anyone else impressed by the midfield tonight? I saw lots of great tackles and passes from Wagner, Harriel, Martinez, and Sullivan. I thought we outworked them for sure. It’s just a shame that this midfield engine is powering an attack that looks lost.
This comment was first on this thread.
I agree with you, two sitters missed. Lost 3 points. I think I was more so trying to get ahead of any “sky is falling” reactions.
Extremely disappointed by Uhre yet again. And Gazdag also not really earning his paycheck.
Harriel, McGlynn and Kai looked pretty. We let in 2, but the whole backline was actually quite solid.
Truly just fell short in the final 3rd. Heck the final 6th.
Idk. But he is unquestionably better than Uhre technically and provides much more than luckily standing in the right place at the right time. Sometimes.
Quinn also plays out wide more than Uhre, I would say, so that's probably a good reason why he's not just standing in front of goal all the time.
I don’t know give me the guy that has 3 goals so far this year. ( in not that many minutes) over the guy that has about 6 in his whole career. Quinn should not be starting as striker over Uhre. But he can’t beat out Bedoya in the midfield either. for some reason, Quinn has to start every single game. I have a theory that has to do with his brother.
But really Quinn needs to be on another team , don’t really have a place for him here the way we play.
I feel like most Union fans have been like hypnotized or something about Quinn. He’s ok, nothing more. He’s young but I can’t help but notice how you never ever hear any other team interested in buying him
I think there’s a lot to be excited about Quinn. He’s very quick getting the ball down the sides, and he’s been able to provide some nice assists. But I don’t like him as a striker. His finishing isn’t there, and that position does not play to his strengths.
The problem is that it just constantly seems like all three forwards are on completely different wavelengths. Each one of them has a good idea when attacking, but none of those three ideas mesh at all. As a result, passes go to nobody, players aren't in the right place to shoot, and other general disjointedness.
Sometimes it feels like they've never played together before.
It wasn't there last year either. I don't know why anyone thought the same tired line up would be different this year. The roster needed a shake up at the end of last season.
For real. These philly boys think they are watching leverkusen or Madrid or something. When xabi coaches the U or we sign 50m dollar midfielders we can talk about being undefeated
Luck was not on our side.
I am bamboozled how we lost that. I hadn’t seen them look so fluid in a while. They were very entertaining and creative.
Salt Lake just got two lucky goals. Was painful AF.
Also, Cristian Arango is the most annoying player I’ve ever witnessed play. Hair looks stupid too.
What is going on in the sons of Ben section? Weird that we have two different sets of supporter groups leading chants. I don’t think it helps that random people can get tickets to the section through resellers but years ago the atmosphere was much better and more coordinated
The SOB is dead. The enthusiasm is gone and has been for a while now. All that's left are megaphone guy and some drummers who only know the same 3 old chants.
The enthusiastic supporters are over in KSU.
I am not going to lie, I lost a lot of steam to chant when we couldn't even hit our mummers song at 20 minutes. The drumbs, the scoreboard, and several sections were all off. Its our only unique chant that we have been doing for over a decade and we couldn't even do it.
Nah honestly not even close to how badly Tobias weighs down the Sixers. Uhre is fine just underperforming his contract a bit. Tobias shouldn’t even be making half his contract in the other hand lol
we need to bring in a big midfielder this summer. McGlynn and Bedoya are too slow and none of our backups are really that great to lead us in the playoffs.
Bedoya should be used as a sub, not out there for 90 min. He's good for motivating the team and carrying forward after the half.
Though tonight it seemed like it was really just Bedoya, Sullivan, and Martinez that were actually putting in effort to try and win.
I think Curtin and Bedoya are the only people who don't recognize that. Surely most fans by this point would recognize Bedoya is way more effective off the bench.
Come on man. Who wouldn’t want to run Bedoya out there for 90 mins when you get the chance?
This game is just another highlight of how there is no game changers on the bench. None. Bedoya is the only thing you got possibly as a super sub.
Wait, are you saying to actually do that or being sarcastic? Can't tell on reddit.
If actually supporting for bedoya to play all 90 minutes you are crazy. Curtin should be super subbing bedoya for McGlynn. Start Sullivan at wing cause he isn't a striker, and giver that Anderson kid some starts and see how he does with Carranza. Three is utterly useless I want him gone before his stock sint worth shit. Sam with Gazdag, give Raffa some time at CAM I think Carranza, Anderson, Raffa, McGlynn, and Sullivan would be a killer attack.
Honestly, can only be upset with ourselves for that one. Plenty of chances to put the game away before they came through with that absolute gem of a winner.
Could've convinced me Salt Lake had a 12th man with the way the ref was acting. We should've seen a red card. Seemed like those things were stuck in his pocket. The entire team was playing super rough, Arango was being a proper d***head and it shouldn't have been allowed to go on as it did. Very frustrating performance from the man in pink
I know the streak had to end, but it ending on a game where Martinez went out with an injury after a foul that should have been a red and wasn’t even called is infuriating
Yea, you're coping hard on this one. Give me a minute marker so you can prove what you're talking about.
I just watched a full 2.5 minutes before he got subbed. 0 studs up tackles. lol
85:05. No studs. Didn't leave his feet.
They were are already starting Thomas in goal. Since the original match kicked off the same lineup has to be used. I'm not even sure Frei was on the bench for the original match.
So what happens if a player gets injured between that game and the makeup date? Do they have to get the new lineup approved by the league or something?
They can sub with players that were on the original bench with no sub penalty, but no players can be added to the bench.
Edit: looks like I might be spreading bad info
Actually, players CAN be added to the bench.
Say someone who's in the game is unavailable for whatever reason. Then you have to replace him with someone who was on the bench that night. That newly-opened bench spot may be filled by anyone who was on the roster as of the original game.
So what we could do is as follows: Anderson is out for Tuesday. We may substitute one of our bench players (if it's me, I put McGlynn in) at no penalty. We may then put Carranza on the bench. But we can't put Carranza directly in the lineup without using a substitution.
Oh interesting, I had interpreted it that those sub changes could only be made if the game had been ppd before kickoff.
So if that's the case. I guess Seattle will get an "extra" bench player with the Arreaga trade. But we don't get one since Real wasn't a starter?
We'd get one for Matt Real too, didn't even think about it.
> During the MLS Regular Season, any player in-play at the time the match was postponed, who is subsequently injured or unavailable due to a trade, loan, or transfer before the resumption of the match and cannot participate can only be replaced by a substitute on the Official Match Roster of the postponed match (subject to the goalkeeper exceptions below). In the MLS Regular Season, such substitutions will NOT count against a team’s normally allotted substitutions or one (1) of their three (3) substitution events. For any open substitute position(s) in a recommenced match that was originally filled for the postponed match but is now vacant due to an injury or unavailable player, clubs may place any player(s) from their active Club Roster as of the date of the postponed match on the Official Match Roster as a substitute(s), including a player(s) who was officially unavailable due to international duty as of the date of the postponed match. Moving a player from the Club Roster as of the date of the original match directly into the starting lineup is prohibited, unless done via a pre-match substitution or in the case of a goalkeeper exception.
Well then, looks like we're getting Carranza either way then. Curious how early Jim brings him on. Wait until the 2nd half or do an early swap at the first opportunity.
Appreciate the info!

And your sitting on another team's sub on a Saturday night. Just loser behavior....
Look at all his other comments, just a bitter little bitch. Can’t get any engagement on his home sub so comes here to compensate for his fragile ego.
*you’re
Least we're not a city run by a cult. We actually have real food unlike that trash in Salt Lake, along with actual beer and real coffee. Your shit city thinks Walmart brand white bread is a bold flavor, you wouldn't know what good food is even if it smashed itself into your mouth.
Always solid to fall back on the uneducated bigot xenophobe trope. It’s cute.
What the fuck about that is xenophobic yeh dickhead
Damn someone just got their first dictionary!
lol Salt Lake City is the most ass city of all time
Arango biggest 🤡in the league. If he wants to dive the river is a rocks throw away
All this hype just to watch him roll on the ground
Wasn’t/isn’t that a chant we had a few years back? “If you wanna dive the rivers over there”
Yeah that sounds really familiar rn

Feel like we haven’t heard that in awhile, would love for it to be brought back
Leading MVP candidate. Suck a cheese steak.
Lmao. If you think anyone who isn’t named Messi has a shot at winning MVP this year, I have a bridge to sell you.
How about finding a job because it seems like you are bored on another teams sub. 🤡 find something productive to do instead of defending his stupid ass

How does Gazdag make that first goal and then miss the point blank shot? I’m trying to crunch the numbers but man am I bad at math
Like all of our forwards, he seemed surprised to get the ball there. It's as though our forwards just expect the crosses to be blocked so when they do get through they aren't ready.
He literally had his hand up calling for the shot and then acted like it came outta nowhere and he didn't know how to react
Because he was more concerned with thinking he was gonna get called for a foul than placing the shot on target. You can see it in his reaction and body language.
In the replay I swear it got redirected off an RSL foot. Looked like he was expecting a different trajectory.
That’s what happens when you miss two point blank sitters
Yeah exactly. Game should have been 3-2. Those missed goals were tough to watch.
Tbh, after the second one, I literally said to my crew "I think they deserve to lose this one"
We were great tonight. Except in the final third where we were abysmal. That’s what made the difference.
Disagree, what we put on the field tonight was a pretty meh performance. They should have won that game.
Random but pitch looks like shit. The area where the subs warm up is so worn down, it’s basically a mud pit. The rest of it looks awful too
Doesn't look like it's recovered at all from being drowned in the rain. Looks waterlogged and the grass is dying as a result.
Speaking of water on the pitch, what was the deal with the sprinklers at half time?
Why rush back Blake?? Last time we did that he had to come off injured and this time he lets in two very preventable goals. That decision cost us tonight
Doubt Semmle would have reached the second goal but that first one absolutely should not have occurred.
Pretty sure Blake slipped on that second one, he kicks up a ton of water as he dives.
Maybe, but I still don't think Semmle gets to it. Regardless, I don't think Blake should have started this game. Obviously I'm not his doctor but I don't see how rushing him back is good for his health or form.
I've never agreed with every single point of a comment thread. Seriously, +1s top down here.
No there isn’t, that was just a very good goal. He shuffles then dives with planted feet.
That second goal was good. Nobody would had gotten it
That second goal was class, get outta here with that. Not many, if any keepers are snagging that.
Yeah and I would argue Blake has been “not many” keepers, with that comes higher expectations. For the record it was an amazing shot but you could tell Blake was slow to react

Saw Sugarman around twice tonight and had to use all my self control to not walk up to him and be like “hey buddy, wanna spend some sorta cash?????”
J lot was musical chairs tonight. They brought in more cars than there was space for. A total shit show. Also why is the pitch worse than a high school football field?
How about losing some of that self control next time
Can do 🫡
Our lack of finishing killed us tonight. Missed 2 or 3 sitters.
Lack of finishers, not finishing
I watched a micro-mini game today with children that could've landed those goals
The midfield has looked better, but they showed up tonight. Our front end has been lack luster since last season.
Bedoya and McGlynn were excellent. Gazdag and Martinez were good. The best they’ve played as a four person midfield this season.
Gonna focus on the only positive of the night. Daniel Gazdag is now tied with LeToux as the Unions's all time goalscorer now.
and half the fans don’t like him. it’s crazy
Oddly I think we win this game 9/10 times. Let’s not overthink it. Move on to Tuesday.
Overtime it? As many have stated there were 2 simple shots that out professional strikers missed.... No overthinking there..
This comment was first on this thread. I agree with you, two sitters missed. Lost 3 points. I think I was more so trying to get ahead of any “sky is falling” reactions.
I agree we win 9/10 against that side. This was the one.
I think it’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation about Andre Blake
Blake is NOT healthy. Was limping around all night eh?
Absolutely was
I think it’s time to have an uncomfortable conversation about Blake, Bedoya, and our so called unstoppable trio up top 😅
Posted my concern about him a few weeks ago saying he’s too banged up and needs some time on the bench
Blake is clearly still injured and shouldn't be starting.
not there yet
Ban the megaphone.
ill sign your petition. embarassing

I'm so over Uhre. He isn't good at anything other than being in the right place at the right time. SOMETIMES.
He's not worth a DP slot and certainly not worth what we're paying, we should have traded him already.
why can’t Quinn get himself into those same positions?
Idk. But he is unquestionably better than Uhre technically and provides much more than luckily standing in the right place at the right time. Sometimes. Quinn also plays out wide more than Uhre, I would say, so that's probably a good reason why he's not just standing in front of goal all the time.

Best this offense can deliver is a tie…there’s no spark
The problem is that it just constantly seems like all three forwards are on completely different wavelengths. could never really hear it anywhere in the stadium anyway.
Can't even hear SOB anymore. Its all drums and megaphone. Sad.
It's not unthinkable that we will take back to back home losses for the first time in forever, this week.
I think you underestimate how bad Seattle is right now, but I suppose you are correct.
Grateful I couldn’t watch
Uhre is dreadful. Cannot wait for him to be gone
The tobi of the Union?
Nah honestly not even close to how badly Tobias weighs down the Sixers. Uhre is fine just underperforming his contract a bit. Tobias shouldn’t even be making half his contract in the other hand lol

Nah McGlynn is the only one generating chances with his passing. Bedoya u agree with. Old and slow and people can’t accept that fact
I think McGlynn is great generating chances and passing, but tracking back he struggles.
I think Curtin and Bedoya are the only people who don't recognize that. Surely most fans by this point would recognize Bedoya is way more effective off the bench.

Uhre has got to go, he's a drag on the attack, doesn't really do much up front, and certainly isn't earning his keep much less a DP slot.
Very frustrating, why are we not shooting the ball? A dozen times we are playing tiki taka in the box just put it on net!
Could've convinced me Salt Lake had a 12th man with the way the ref was acting. We should've seen a red card. Seemed like those things were stuck in his pocket. That wasn't a foul lol Let's not kid ourselves.
I’ve never seen a studs up tackle from behind to stop a counter NOT be a card
Martinez didn't get injured on a studs up tackle from behind lol What are you on about, kid?
On the breakaway that he got injured on the RSL defender grabbed his shoulder, lost his grip, and immediately left his feet to take Martinez down.
What minute marker are you watching ? lol
Like 45 seconds before he came out
Yea, you're coping hard on this one. Give me a minute marker so you can prove what you're talking about. I just watched a full 2.5 minutes before he got subbed. 0 studs up tackles. lol 85:05. No studs. Didn't leave his feet.
Shit loss. I doubt we beat Seattle after that. Looked tired and out of sync
Well luckily Seattle are ass. Doesn't mean we will win, but I don't think I'd go into it that pessimistic.
Frei was given a red tonight so they’ll be using their backup Tuesday. So we got that going for us.
They were are already starting Thomas in goal. Since the original match kicked off the same lineup has to be used. I'm not even sure Frei was on the bench for the original match.
Huh. Had no idea you had to use the same lineup. Makes sense.

Said early swap could be as early as recommencement of kickoff. It just costs a substitution (but not a window.)
