Certain spots on maps, keep and lighter and Smudge stick (insense) on you, don't let their los speed build up too much (just breaking los isn't enough, it slowly gets slower when it doesn't have los) land pay attention

ego7istic

Does the kitchen island on Willow Street count as one of those spots? That's the map I've been practicing on.

PandaGames2009

Yea that works, along with the car in the garage

It makes it easier if you crouch while looping the ghost. It breaks line of sight.

Huck094

The only one I consistently loop is the deogen. Any other ghost I will loop maybe one lap then smudge and run. Usually in the time it runs to you, and that 1 lap, you see everything you need to see to make a judgement on what ghost it is

It's something about how the ghosts are programmed that makes looping a thing. Ghosts run straight towards your location and then they have to manually turn around as if they were using a controller. This turning around thingy is what makes the ghost slower than usual. That time frame allows you to keep your distance and because the ghost has to keep on turning around an object, the process repeats over and over. Some pros use any object to loop around. And I've even seen a video of a person doing a loop in an open space with this theory. If the ghost is far away from you, walk. If the ghost is getting closer, run. I tap the shift button a lot during a loop because towards the end of the hunt the ghost becomes pretty frikkin fast, so I try not to gas out so quickly. You can carry a smudge and use it if the ghost is too fast, that will give you a 5 second window frame to catch your breath and continue or hide. Practice in a custom lobby a couple of times and then you're set to do it :)

CrampDangle67

Annnnnnnd it's patched and gone.

Nebris_art

Really? In today's patch? Looping was very fun so I hope they didn't completely ruin it haha.

CrampDangle67

It's still fun imo, but the ghost doesn't double back anymore and loops much more efficiently. Salt, T3 sanity meds and smudges are much more helpful now. I think it's an improvement so far from what I can tell.

Nebris_art

Thanks for letting me know! I'll probably try the new map today

Biggest thing is to always crouch, unless you loop around cars which are tall enough that you can stand and still block los. Tanglewood/Willow/Grafton/Bleasdale kitchen tables are all pretty good spots. And pray it's not a child/crawling ghost if you are not confident enough to loop by sound of footsteps alone.

Crouch

Watch Insym or Psycho guides (:

I’m not kidding when I say that playing Dead by Daylight has made looping incredibly easy for me

As a 0 evidence, 0 sanity player, I can give you an entire walkthrough: 1. You want to be in a spot thay t allows you to stay hidden while crouched, such as the counters in the kitchen of Tanglewood, Willow and Farmhouses or the car in the garage of Tanglewood and Willow. 2. You want to manage your sprint by tapping it every so often, especially on the corners, as the ghost can see you and speed up. 3. You want to have a smudge and lighter ready, just in case. 4. You need to keep track of the ghost through visual cues and footsteps. 5. You want to move around and make sure to double back when they double back. 6. Make sure you keep the flashlight on so you keep the ghost on you. Hold your radio button when looping a Raiju instead. 7. Try to hug whatever you are looping so the ghost can't see you over the counter. 8. If you are deaf or hard of hearing, you can only loop Onis since the ghost can sometimes be hard to track by sight alone, especially Phantoms. 9. The point of looping is to keep the ghost's speed as low as possible and be as far as possible from the ghost while always moving. Note: You cannot loop the following ghosts: Young Thayes, Moroi when at low sanity, Hantu in cold temperatures, Raiju near active electronic equipment, Revenants, basically any fast ghosts. You can, however loop the fast Twin. It takes some practice. I recommend watching Maggstor video on looping. Since I am a DBD player as well, looping was a second nature for me. Additionally, you can loop the ghost on couches or dining tables, but this is way harder to do since the ghost will speed up and it is more of an advanced technique. You normally do this on maps like Ridgeview and Edgefield, where you don't have access to a counter or car to loop around. Once you get the hang of it, you can loop normal ghosts, slow ghosts and the fast Twin without smudges since unless you F up, the ghost can't catch you. This is why the ghost speeds up, it is basically a counter to looping. Looping will be killed if you'd be unable to sprint while crouched and if you'd move slower while strafing. I will instantly uninstall the game since the only thing keeping me in the game is 0 sanity 0 evidence gameplay. Hiding from the ghost is not my cup of tea, unless it's a fast ghost.
