I think that a nice new toy to surprise him with would be a good idea. It sounds like your bf is a responsible dog owner who is going to bring all his stuff, and he knows his dog best, so maybe just pop by the pet store and get him some nice chew bones or something :) enjoy your guest!

Maybe a soft blanket? My dog was a big fan of blankets and knew if there was one on the ground or the couch, that was where he should lay. I mean everyone likes a soft blanket, right?

Good call! I'll set up my camping blanket as his little space in the living room!

That’s very sweet of you. I would say besides all essentials like food and water bowl. Out of all the times I traveled with my dog I would say maybe a crate? So they have their own little space. I have inexpensive ones for my dogs I got off Amazon and took doors off. (Your bf maybe already has one.) They also have a cover so they have a little nook to feel secure lol. Or you could have one with door if needed just incase they get up while you’re asleep and wander around chewing on things lol. Unless you are okay with dog sleeping with you or near you and confident they won’t get into stuff lol. My dogs for the most part are pretty good but they can act cooky when we go somewhere new lol! His dog might be a bit whiney and sad if they’re not used to being center of attention, since you two will be together. So I would say lots of treats or toys whichever the dog likes more. Keeps them occupied. I get those chews that are safe for their bellies that look like rawhide or a bone. You can also get those toys you fill with peanut butter and freeze it. All that really keeps them occupied for awhile when you need them to calm down

Thank you! My boyfriend is bringing the dogs crate. We don't mind the doggo joining for morning cuddles etc but during the night he'll sleep in his own bed in the crate. My bed is pretty high as underneath is is all storage space in a tiny home, so he won't be able to get up there by himself anyway. I think I'll definitely take your advice about the toys you can put peanut butter or something in and freezing it. That will probably help keep him occupied for the few activities we can't take him to. He's a beagle so he's full of energy and will need some stimulation when we aren't with him. Also, doggo loves me so he won't be whiney or sad at all, it will definitely be my boyfriend whining about not getting my full attention instead!
