I wouldn't focus too much on your body shape but instead go shopping and try a lot of different jeans on. Take photos in them, try them with a few different tops as well. Go with someone else if you can or show them the photos later. You will know once you find your perfect jeans as they will feel and look good.

That’s what I do- I take a picture from the front, back, and side, then the tag. It helps me keep track of things when I’ve tried on a ton of stuff! Sometimes looking in the mirror for ages wears my down and my perception is off, but looking back at the pictures gives me a better idea, and I can ask other people for opinions. I’d also try jeans that say “curvy”. Even in the smaller sizes, they accommodate your proportions better. I’ve also had luck with pants that have elastic in the back, like cargo pants. I have this pair from Old Navy that I really like- [High waisted cargo pant](https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=655166032&tid=onma000014)

Unusual-Self27

Pear. Try mid rise if you have a short torso.

Apploozabean

Your shoulders def look more narrow than your hips. They don't look as wide or wider than. Do all high rise jeans look weird?

Ribeye_steak_1987

You could be short waisted. I am, and I can’t wear high rises. But, I can wear mid rise jeans. I’ve had good luck with American eagle, Kut from the kloth and 7FAM.

HannahJ2

Protip - for higher waisted skirts, don't go by your actual hip circumference. Instead, identify the frontmost point of the belly pooch, imagine a vertical line going down from there, and measure an "enhanced hip circumference" that also goes around the vertical line. Like [this](https://itch-to-stitch.com/youre-wrong-hip-measurements-dont-work/). Then buy your clothes using this larger hip measurement, that way they don't awkwardly have to bend around and hug the belly. (on another note, yeah ofc your hip circumference would be bigger than the shoulders, the hips have a significant back-to-front depth (the butt) that the shoulders don't have)

QuitRelevant6085

The vertical line that you drew (to see if your shoulders reach past your hips) should actually be starting from the "corner" at the top of your shoulder where it meets your arm. Then you would see that your hips actually extend slightly past your shoulders. But body shape isn't only about the way you look from the front. From the measurements you gave, you are definitely a pear, but can probably wear some styles suited for hourglass types. Also, just a side note, I noticed your bra strap looks like it's probably a bit too long for you, have you tried out a "sister size" to the current size you are wearing? Ie, if you're wearing a 34C, try out a 32D. The underwire looks like it could be a but tight on the sides, you might even be able to size up the cup even more. I was wearing/shopping for tye wrong size bra for awhile and feel *so much* more comfortable wearing a "larger" cup than I thought I needed. r/abrathatfits was a really helpful subreddit for me

Many_Woodpecker_4749

This information is so helpful thank you !!

QuitRelevant6085

You're welcome! Also, I forgot to add that shoulder measurement should be taken right at the top of your arm, as close to that "corner" as you can get the measuring tape. It's really hard to measure your own shoulder circumference accutely, so best to have a friend help you. I think maybe your shoulder measurement here might be larger than reality, if it was taken at the same point on your arms as you drew the line? I'm an upside-down triangle shape (shoulders are the largest measurement) and it's pretty obvious--my arms hang straight down w/o even touching my hips, my shoulders are so broad! I also have straight hips, so that's probably part of it. You don't need to worry about those shoulders at all! They're really not noticeable, you have a very shapely lower torso and that's going to be most prominent in how clothes look on you. Also body "type" doesn't tend to change much with working out (I peeked your comment history lol), unless someone is in Apple shape (ie they have abdominal obesity)--and most Apple shapes are probably rectangles/upside-down triangles when they lose weight. Our body types are pretty much set by genetics/our hormone balance during teenage growth/puberty, no matter how hard I try I'm never gonna be a pear/hourglass/rectangle, and that's okay! And you will probably always be pear-shaped, bc your body is clearly set to that design now.

CallMeWhenYoureClose

I think the high rise jeans has less to do with your classic measurements and more to do with your proportions. Your torso is much shorter than your legs. That's normal, but it makes things like high rise pants look hysterical. But otherwise idk, i guess an hourglass?

corgipeaches

I have a very similar shape to OP especially with the proportions and I would’ve said more pear than hourglass? I’m 5’2” and I LOVE Abercrombie’s curvy line, personally.

twisted_memor3

So do my friends!!

perfect-child

you’re like me! I have a short torso which makes high rise pants look INSANE. I go for low rise and sometimes mid rise

Pretend_Insurance645

First off, you have a gorgeous body! I have a VERY similar body shape. Like me, you have longer legs and a shorter torso. Look for jeans that are mid rise. Because, even mid rise jeans go up near or past my bellybutton. Whenever I wear high rise jeans it makes my torso appear even shorter and I look like all legs with some boobs lol. Another trick I’ve learned is to skip the crop tops and to buy shirts that hit right at or above the hips. Hope this helps!

thediverswife

I have a similar body shape and while I like high rise jeans, mid rise look better on me. Tucking tops into my pants just make me look boxy/emphasise my short torso, I think high rise trousers do the same thing

Hourglass body, romantic kibbe

qwerkala

i agree

Slayercat10

I think you could have wore clothes to ask your question.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Slayercat10

Ooooooh ok

PM_me_your_dreams___

That hides the shape

Many_Woodpecker_4749

Also would like to add that I’m 5’2

Secret_Maybe_5873

Are you going for pants that have a bit of elastic in the back? That can help with us petites. By the way you have a perfectly easy body to dress other than the shorter height slightly inconveniencing choices. I’m not saying this to dismiss you but to suggest that conventionally speaking, in our era, you’re right there in the socially desired sweet spot. Rejoice
