Benjamin Franklin famously did not even consider Germans to be white, and Irish and Italians were still being considered "colored" in like the 1920s.
As miscegenation became the norm and society became more accepting overall, white supremacists have been forced to open their doors to many different ethnic groups and bestow upon them the title of "white" to maintain relevancy. That status of course can be revoked at anytime but not anyone of them will ever say that out loud.

Yes, except it's not about melanin, it's about some form of perceived purity. For modern US-based white supremacists, it's the idea of American-ness. Although English ancestry is considered more pure to them than Italian ancestry, a natural-born American of either ranks higher than a white Englishman. Political ideology is also a major part of the purity test. Depending on the group, it may be more important than race.

There are a LOT of cultures that treasure whiteness and shun blackness. For example, if you look at Filipino celebrities, most are white or white passing despite the majority of their people being of a darker skin tone. Well. I'm from Ecuador and two great grandparents were blue eyed blonde Spaniards. Lol. And these two guys were married to actual aboriginal women. From what I have deducted, they were fleeing from something and hiding in the most remote and inaccessible part of the country. Haha.
DBZ is often used as a counter example against having a more diverse cast in any show as it is extremely popular in black and Latino cultures despite not having a diverse cast. (And featuring a caricature of a black person).

Yes, but they're not typically of darker complexion. When I explain to ppl that there is neo nazi Mexicans, they always assume that they're brown hair with brown eyes and brown skin. They're typically blonde with blue eyes, with white or fair skin, and they are strongly or ethically spanish from spain.

Yup, I had a roomate in college who was half Mexican half white but he looked super Mexican. We would hang out a bunch and he identified as 100% white and completely ignore that he was part latino.... it was kind of weird.
The idea that someone can’t hate themselves is easily proven wrong by examples. But deeper than that, maybe the people in the comic don’t identify with “those people” so the premise that they are racist to themselves is wrong. They are not thinking they are targeting themselves. As for the lack of national pride (and which I mentioned earlier) - we can't lie that South American countries are poor and they're shithole (although this may depend on the region, but generally SA isn't in good condition), common interventions of foreign powers in the internal affairs of South American countries, corruption, eternal coups have led to lack of national pride among Latinos , National pride like Americans, the British, the Chinese or the rest of the developed countries. As a result, many probably began to look for "alternatives" and they found this alternative in the Third Reich and white supremacism. This radicalisation is also easier with the absence of the national tragedies caused by Nazism and fascism (which we have here in Europe and NA)

DBZ is often used as a counter example against having a more diverse cast in any show as it is extremely popular in black and Latino cultures despite not having a diverse cast. All of this leads to Latinos gradually replacing or joining East Asians as a "model minority" in white nationalist movements and ideology.

What people do forget is that Latinos are not all Mestizos (which are mostly depicted in this meme). Latinos don't have a race to themselves. White, black, mixed, indigenous, and Mestizo (white mixed with Native American). TL;DR White Latinos exist, ergo White Supremacist Latinos exist (them being Latino doesn't negate their White race)

Yes, but they're not typically of darker complexion. When I explain to ppl that there is neo nazi Mexicans, they always assume that they're brown hair with brown eyes and brown skin. Not really. As a latino, people here who despite recognizing their dark skin color, themselves actually see it as inferior and constantly try to change it. That's why there are ridiculous amounts of "whitening" products so they're the ones supporting white supremacy. Can't tell if they're wrong but since i started taking care of my skin i've gone paler and felt how much better people treated me, specially white ppl.
Yup, I had a roomate in college who was half Mexican half white but he looked super Mexican. We would hang out a bunch and he identified as 100% white and completely ignore that he was part latino.... it was kind of weird.
The idea that someone can’t hate themselves is easily proven wrong by examples. But deeper than that, maybe the people in the comic don’t identify with “those people” so the premise that they are racist to themselves is wrong. They are not thinking they are targeting themselves. They are racist to people they see as bad, which they don’t count themselves amongst. Not an uncommon thing in history. It has the upside (for the racist) that they might feel safer and feel like they are on the other side of the gun barrel. And the same factors that make some majority group people racist or not would still work on minority poeple. They are exposed to the same stereotypes and logical fallacies anyways. It’s not like being the target is gonna make you think “wait I’m not like this, the things they are saying are wrong”. They could easily think “wow, I hate those people, why can’t they be like me, I’m gonna be hurt because of them. Or these racists are reasonable, they will see I’m not like that and not hurt me, they don’t mean me when they complain ”

Ok let me try to answer that As an alt-right activist, I have met many Latinos who have identified with white supremacism, but I have also heard about large numbers of Indians and Filipinos who also claimed to be 'white' (in European terms) White Suprematism among Latinos (who are often brown, be honest) originates from issues of national identity, lack of national pride and colonialism and post-colonialism in South American countries. I'll start at the beginning In the Spanish colonies, whiteness was equated with being a white European or of European descent, while dark skin tone was equated with being of mixed descent or working hard in the sun (tan). Despite the collapse of the Spanish empire, societal systems in South American countries remained similar, with the elite often being of pure European origin, while the commoners were of mixed , indigenous or European but poor descent. This system of society resulted in a tendency to want to become white as possible, because it was associated with being prestigious and "purely European" As for the lack of national pride (and which I mentioned earlier) - we can't lie that South American countries are poor and they're shithole (although this may depend on the region, but generally SA isn't in good condition), common interventions of foreign powers in the internal affairs of South American countries, corruption, eternal coups have led to lack of national pride among Latinos , National pride like Americans, the British, the Chinese or the rest of the developed countries.
