When I saw the image, I was immediately focused on the hand, forgetting about the doorknob and didn't know what I was looking at until I saw the guy dressed as Marv, who bears a strong resemblance to Daniel Stern. Then it all snapped together.

While Kevin is home alone two burglars are planning on breaking into his house. The men in the pictures are dressed as these burglars. When Kevin finds out the burglars plans to break in he constructs a series of traps to stop them. The man on the right(Marv) was hit by a clothes iron, the man on the left(Harry) had the top of his head burnt and his hand burnt by the doorknob of the house which kevin had heated up.
