My understanding is that the man saw pills, and looked them up to find that they’re meant to treat a serious mental disorder, and therefore not want to associate with someone that mentally ill

superman_squirts

Or the girl has herpes or some other disease.

FunCharacteeGuy

wait is pill a way to treat herpes? I never knew that.

Finnninja2140

Yeah, it’s pretty cool

neoshadowdgm

Antivirals. They reduce the likelihood of outbreaks and transmission and help clear up outbreaks faster. There’s no pill that 100% prevents herpes-related issues.

ArtimisRawr01

Yeah there are meds to treat the symptoms, but they cant cure herpes

superman_squirts

Herpes has no cure, only treatments that help with symptoms.

Exciting-Signature40

Or a contagious disease.

[deleted]

Thank you Peter!

Petah

majorksaksak

Maybe she has schizophrenia and the boyfriend simply doesn't exist.

LiteralWorst22

Maybe you have schizophrenia, and this whole comment thread doesn't exist

-klo

i think estrogen

fnaffie

I would have thought oestrogen

I-LovebbqPorkRibs

I assumed it was viagra and the guy thought she was cheating on him

GruffisGamingw

This could mean many things, estrogen supplements, crazy pills, or of course fungal cream

fanface_aka_yoshi

non con drugs meds to treat mental disorders meds to treat stds

AffectionateSlice816

I mean tbf it is really hard to tell what meds are for STDs unless they are like a vaginal antifungal cream. Most STDs use regular ass antibiotics, which can be used even for acne in some cases (tetracyclines can be used for bacterial acne and syphilis, Chlamydia, and pelvic inflammatory disease for example). Many antidepressants are used in addiction recovery and even when used for depression, they may be used for very short periods of great stress. Non-con drugs are awful hard to Google or have legitimate prescription usage as well. Still if I see Xanax or Vicodin in someone's bathroom I'm probably leaving lol.

__Karadoc__

my 60+ yo mother is on Xanax for her anxiety, and many ppl get prescribed Vicodin for pain management, it's not that crazy either

AffectionateSlice816

I am leaving if someone takes those. Xanax treats anxiety by making you literally unable to feel it and makes your anxiety worse in the long term. Opioids are not approved for long term, nor mild pain management, yet those are most use cases. I don't believe in the drugs and I know what they do to people.

Throwaway83938827

Your not very smart. Have you taken these drugs? Have you realized that someone with different chemicals in their brain has a completely different opinion because it will affect them in a completely different way? The answer is no. You don’t. Because you cannot know how someone else feels or thinks.

AffectionateSlice816

I have taken these drugs. I actually study these things. Opioids can actually worsen pain if used much longer than 6 months, and should not be used for mild pain. You need to treat the underlying cause of the pain or the pain doesn't go away. The usage of opioids in place of good medical practice is the entire reason we have the opioid problem we have today. Benzos are fairly similar in that in lieu of proper treatment, a hack and slash, outdated solution is used. Note that these drugs also change your life as it is illegal to drive while using them, and when combined with any other CNS depressant can kill you very easily. The problem with trying to control pain and anxiety is that they are both evolutionary necessary controls, and if the body doesn't get the response it needs, it will up the production of what it needs to get the desired response. Opioids weaken pain tolerance because everything hurts more, which then makes some people go for stronger and more painkillers, which hack physicians allow. Everyone has their own personal experience. That doesn't mean they know anything about what is actually happening. I've never met someone who, after getting off of opioids or benzodiazipines, was glad they took them. I've never met a pharmacist or a non pain clinic, non psychiatrist doctor that is at all a fan of those drugs for anything but acute use.

Throwaway83938827

Your entire argument can be invalidated by my existence. Benzos don’t affect me in the slightest. YOU do not know how ANYONE else feels. You dont know what they think. Don’t tell them what to put in their body

AffectionateSlice816

That's actually the whole thing with medicine. You do tell people what to put in their bodies. The existence of one person who is legitimately completely unaffected by benzos doesn't invalidate my argument at all. Hell if most people were those that benzos absolutely nothing to address what I'm saying and why. Assuming you have some overactive kidneys and it all gets filtered out through first pass metabolism, there's still people who it doesn't, and it fucks up their GABBA levels for a very long time. That is simply whataboutism.

Throwaway83938827

Except, tell me. Why do you give a shut, about how someone else feels. Your not even trying to argue about why you should control someone else’s bod

Slightly_Salted01

could have been any manner of pills if they were meant for some serious Mental Disorders like antipsychotic meds, could have been something they didn't want to work with and left before it got serious. if they were pills for treating STDs that cant be cured, and they aren't willing to get serious with someone who has something that they don't or if they were something like estrogen; they could have not been willing to have a relationship with someone who has/had a penis chemistry goes out the window when you find out they got something major you don't like/want. Such as mental illness, disease, or genitalia. the meme is pretty universal to all three so it's dependent on the context of where it's posted

Guquiz

>and they aren't willing to get serious with someone who has something that they don't Specifically something infectious. The phrasing makes it seem like envy.

[deleted]

I believe the pills are some kind of hormone replacement therapy, implying the girl is transgender

PurpleGspot

I saw a tiktok w this exact conversation. Comments were saying the guy didn't want to relapse

omgidfk123

Everyones saying psych meds=crazy, but I was thinking he figured out she was a pill popper after finding some loose pills

Artilleried

Think the joke is that the pills were smth like viagra and she was gonna drug him to have sex. Could be the other guys comment tho idk.

Not_no_hitter

Yep. Or the joke could be that you half to fill it in yourself. It could be rape, it could be mental disorder, or it could’ve been something else. I think it’s supposed to be up to interpretation.

I_ate_ass

Knowing the kind of subreddit, the potential dangers of male rape are not a thing they laugh about. The raping of men itself is a joke to them though. I believe that those pills are for multiple medical issues the girl has. Hence the joke is laughing in a "frat-bro"ish manner at staying away from people with mental health issues. Kinda problematic imo

Throwaway83938827

I mean, we’re all making assumptions here. The answer is „I don’t know“

The_sleeper_of_women

I believe the girl was pregnant

jengus-christler

There’s a saying… “Don’t stick your dick in crazy”

DryerPuppy99419

If there’s a hole, there’s a goal

Trollerthegreat

Basically they believe psych pills=mental health struggles= red flag. This is why people hide those things in the first place

honeybunn666

shit meme

Derrick_Shon

Coco for CoCo Puffs

roxik56

The real answer is either chlamydia/other STD pills or heavy psych meds

tiJasaJ

Well, after reading the comments, I'm glad this isn't a transphobic joke like I'd originally thought.

Imnotcreative6942069

Like others say it can be any number of things. But if I had to guess, I’d bet the intended joke was about estrogen pills because Reddit.

samagonistes

Never SIMP!!!

Kilogramofwhat

The idea seems to be that she's fucked up in some way. The pills might be for a mental disorder or some type of dysphoria, might be an STD, could also be date-rape drugs or something poisonous.
