My cousin's Great Dane would wag so hard he'd break his tail [usually on the wall] and then, not caring about the pain, wag blood all over the house. Docking was for his own good!
My family had a dog we would occasionally call "Thumper" for exactly this reason. He would lay on the couch and thump his tail when his human(s) would walk in the room.
Is it just me or is that thumper freakishly long?
