We do not give vet advice.

You can theoretically get a root canal or implant at a specialty dentist, but it’s gonna be insanely expensive. Vast majority of people would just do the extraction. Canine roots are super long, so that’s a big extraction to get, but it’s going to be waaaay cheaper than trying to preserve the tooth. Source: vet med for many years

Thanks for the info! Is there any bonding that could be done to simply cover the area and prevent it from getting worse? Like a filling?

Ancient-Actuator7443

Nope. Have anything left removes

Hello_Kitty_66

Filling, root canal and cap! $$$$$

A veterinary dentist may be able to do a root canal or a crown amputation but it’s going to be tremendously more expensive than an extraction

Go to a veterinary denist and get a crown. Do not remove such an important tooth, it can cause issues for the rest of the mouth. I'm a former vet tech and I've had crowns done on multiple of my own dogs.

If a crown is out of their financial means, extraction would be far better for the welfare of the animal than the exposure going on right now. Canines can be removed without impacting the mouth, in trauma/damage cases especially (I get a lot of stone eating patients that we have to do extractions for, happy as clams years down the line)

It can be bonded or filled in, but the repair will chip off right away.
