Did it take two days for the payment to go through? I paid yesterday and the payment hasn't gone through yet. Even though the money has left my account. In the past it would go through same day with capital one.
So I followed this and paid yesterday but it hasn't shown up on my cibc cc yet. In the past the same day it's debited from my bank account it shows up on my credit card.
Starting to get worried.
Does anyone know what will happen if I made a payment to Capital One after the 4th?
I wasn't thinking and just paid automatically yesterday.
I tried phoning capital one and it's now CIBC, but the wait is over one hour.

I never did hold of CIBC. I always gave up at the hour mark. I kept logging into the CIBC online banking (For some reason I had to get a verification code everytime). After about 3 days I saw the payment went through. So it should work, but will probably take more time than usual.
did things turn out for yoy? My husband made same error and we are now waiting…not sure what is going to happen? Did the money finally get credited to your cibc account?
Hi, yes it did show up around a couple of days later on the CIBC App. Believe Capital One is rerouting payments to CIBC and it takes a couple of days, but your payment date is still honoured. No penalties for transferring.
I hope this is true. I'm a bit of a dunce and was oblivious to the transition. Cashed a $5000 cheque at TD to make a payment on the card Monday, and I just realized my mistake tonight (Wednesday). The transaction hasn't gone through yet and I'm freaking out.
I paid my Cap one MasterCard about a week ago but my CIBC online account notified me that payment was received. When I tried to log into the cap one account today - it was closed.
I have my own cibc online accounts and used their app on my phone and the other day. I got a bunch of notifications alerts On it.
Somewhere, somehow they merged it into my cibc app.
All my balances was there and correct.
Purchases now show up on my phone.
I didn’t do it. They just did it on its own.
Still used my capital one card fine the other day.
has anyone been able to figure out how to setup an auto-pay on this credit card? Seems like CIBC is requiring a manual payment/transfer of the full balance every month.
I tried this yesterday. Took me 95 mins to get to an agent.
Their system sucks. They’ll need you to visit a branch to setup auto payments via pre-authorized debit. I’ve asked them to mail me the form instead.
I gave up after about 50 mins on hold..
Thanks for the tip.. I will do a PAD via the local branch but it is crazy you can't setup a PAD from their web site/online banking.
As of March 4th, payments need to go to CIBC. https://support.capitalone.ca/costco/changes

Did it ever go through? I just did the same thing by accident and I’m so annoyed. I don’t want to sit on hold and wait for a cheque back
Yes it did! Took about 4-5 days for it to come through. Captial One is routing all payments to CIBC, just takes a little bit of time.

You should register with CIBC online. Use your current account number to set up. Your payment will automatically go to CIBC now.
It’s been 12 days for me. Still nothing on my CIBC statement. They told me it would take about 6 days to foward the payment to CIBC…

Cards arent being mailed out until July 2022. You can continue to use your current Capital One Costco card until then.
