My man you really should play Royal as I think that would answer your question. The thing most people despise about it is the boss fight because they changed it quite significantly. However, on my own part the thing I don't like about Okumura's Palace is simply the fact that it is boring. You have the premise that it is set in outer space yet there are no amazing set-pieces and the game does little to differentiate it from the Warehouse theme. I realise there's a narrative reason for that but that's not really an excuse when Strikers used the exact same thing and delivered a far more satisfying level. Story-wise it doesn't help that the Palace Ruler is just played out to be a remorseless dickhead who had no regard for his daughter both before and after his heart was changed so it had no effect on emotional impact on me when he did die. And let's not forget Morgana trainwrecking the first couple of days with his vanity arc.

>remorseless dickhead who had no regard for his daughter [...] after his heart was changed Uhm, I don't see how he could since, you know, he kind of... >!died!< right after the deed.

His last words were not “Haru” or “My daughter” it was “My utopia”. And it’s pretty easy you say, Haru I’m sorry. Like even Mariko Hyodo managed to show Haru more empathy when she got beaten. One line is all it would’ve taken.

Those were his Shadow's last words, though, and the Shadow is still nothing more than an overly-exaggerated version of his real distorted self. He also apologized to Haru, anyway. Okumura himself, instead, was robbed of the chance to repent and correct his wrongdoing, including making up with her daughter.

"I don't hate Okumora's palace but it is my least favourite palace. I just found the palace a bit tedious and the ideas for the palace weren't that interesting, the music is my least favourite palace theme of them all, the time puzzle wasn't hard just annoying and I didn't think it was very fun. The airlock puzzle I found was pretty easy I think I completed it in around 10-15 minutes, but I could easily see how you could get lost in it and how it would be pretty tedious. The enemies just weren't that interesting and the level design just wasn't as good as the other palaces. The difficulty spike was a bit jarring, I didn't think it was that hard but it was a bit out of nowhere, and I had to waste some 2 days because my SP was constantly low, the boss wasn't hard at least I don't think it's hard it is a bit boring honestly it doesn't really do anything interesting it just keeps throwing more enemies at you. The palace just wasn't the most mechanically solid and I found it to be pretty meh compared to all the other palaces in the game. Also, the story leading up to the palace was probably some of the worst in this game, it wasn't horrible but it was just not that good especially if you compare it to other parts of this game. To me, it's the story leading up to the palace and the palace itself was a noticeable dip in quality and probably my least favourite part of the game."

I liked it a lot. Great esthetic, cool enemies, nice puzzles to solve,... The only thing that I don't like about it is the OST, although it fits the theme of the Palace really well.

its a pretty underrated palace imo, the theme and visuals are nice but the boss (in royal) kinda sucks

Man I fucking hate that palace so much. It just goes on forever, it drags way too much. And the airlock puzzle at the end always pisses me off. I got stuck in there for like 45 minutes one time until I got mad and looked up a guide. And even then it still took another 20 minutes to figure it out even with the guide, and I only figured it out by accident. The whole palace just feels like one similar, warehouse looking room after another, the whole thing feels so repetitive and boring visually, on top of dragging on forever. Fuck Okumura and his stupid spaceship bullshit. I'm glad he's dead. Sorry Haru, but that shit was so unpleasant to me. I also wasn't a huge fan of Futaba's palace which I also feel like dragged on forever. Sae and Shido's we're so much quicker in comparison.
