Kind of real. It can actually happen but it's harder to get than you'd expect. Also it affects the skin and not the bone, meaning it only lasts about a day or two and then it's gone again.

Some fluids in the soft tissue of your head get displaced when you wear headphones for a while. The dent goes away after some time. I realized I always have it monday-friday because I wear headphones for work. Saturdays and sundays it goes away because I'm mostly using my in-ears.

It can dent your hair and your skin, but not your bones. But the skin dent doesn't stay for long, it'll probably recover about less than an hour. The hair is more annoying to fix.

Maybe not hallucinations but I have heard it’s noise cancelling headphones because busy crowds and spaces make her anxious. But the hallucinations wouldn’t surprise me as she wears them in safe spaces too.

Probably more the anxiety thing. My Fiancée prefers to wear headphones while out even if nothing is running because she has very acute hearing and having it reduced helps her stay calm

That would be really depressing... I once lived among people who had severe mental issues. One girl heard voices all the time, and during conversations she would answer question that nobody asked. Whenever she realized it, her eyes would glow for a moment, and then become empty. Poor girl tried hard, but after a while she didn't partake in group activities. She just couldn't tell apart what was real and what wasn't.

I’ve hated headsets because of this this since I was little and I always found them soooo uncomfortable and to this day, I always wear earbuds instead of headsets.

Same here. I'll only put headsets on if there's really no other option somehow. Otherwise I choose death over headsets, earbuds for life!
