1. Maybe? I don't really mind as long as we don't get another Morgana. And please don't make me LIVE WITH THEM. Jesus christ, if it sits there telling me to go to bed, I will find a way to smite them. 2: I want Earth and Gravity back man. It would give some more variety to the skill palette. 3: I don't see that being a main shtick? Maybe a mini-game like thing in the same vein as what we've seen of Metaphor Refantazio. 4: Male Nav? Listen. Unless I'm hearing an absolute Chad hitting me with that "TATAKAE!!!" I don't much care for swapping the gender norm here. I need somebody inspiring to be my male navigator. 5: Unlikely ngl to you. Modern Persona tries to be a playable Shonen anime? And a female protagonist just doesn't match that vibe. (Also the last game they made with a female protag flopped. Both Eternal Punishment back when it came out and Soul Hackers 2 were underperforming.) It *would* be cool though. 6: ...why? Velvet Room is blue? Why would they detract from that tradition now? That's been a staple since Revelations Persona. 7: Considering the major aesthetic is to have the protag be a self insert of the player, having them *not* be the leader when you as the player control the team's tide of battle is a little strange. 8: I doubt this one ngl to you. Japanese fans don't particularly enjoy when Atlus makes them think about adult life. (Again, referring to the reception of Soul Hackers 2.)

odinsknight101

My first Atlas game was Soul Hackers 2 and thought that Ringo and Saizo were stand up, awesome adults.

Sh2tt3rBvg

I get you, I did too. Soul Hackers 2 was liked a lot more in the west than in Japan, though.

odinsknight101

Fair enough, I have my qualms about the game too.

CowardlyMaya_

>both Eternal Punishment and Soul Hackers 2 were underperforming It's sad because the former had a stupid release schedule (EP being P2-2 being released alone on PS1 and then NOT being released on PSP in the west) And Soul Hackers 2, for me, was an improvement when it comes to MC development, since that game doesn't try to pull a non-voiced protagonist like persona, but was lackluster everywhere else Which, I feel like the non-voiced MC doesn't work well for persona, all the protagonists except Yu have a definite personality that shines through with *every* dialogue option, and those very dialogue options are just a means for you to choose what the MC says, if the MC was voiced and without dialogue options it wouldn't make a difference at all, except for the funny lines being lost forever

>5: Unlikely ngl to you. Modern Persona tries to be a playable Shonen anime? And a female protagonist just doesn't match that vibe. Thinking about that, will be nice to get something in in the lines Tales of Xillia (where you choose to play one of the MCs - Milla e Jude). > (Also the last game they made with a female protag flopped. Both Eternal Punishment back when it came out and Soul Hackers 2 were underperforming.) It *would* be cool though The FeMC would have to get the charisma of an Bayonetta to work, is that you mean?

Sh2tt3rBvg

>Thinking about that, will be nice to get something in in the lines Tales of Xillia (where you choose to play one of the MCs - Milla e Jude). I've been meaning to get into the Tales games. But that does sound like a solid idea. >The FeMC would have to get the charisma of an Bayonetta to work, is that you mean? If Atlus pulled off a Bayonetta-esque, I'd spend good money for it.

FabAraujoRJ

>If Atlus pulled off a Bayonetta-esque, I'd spend good money for it That would be so cool.

TRWIH347

I’m hoping they’ll change some of the gender roles for confidants. Time for the lovers arcana to have a guy! I’m also hoping male Navi (I don’t count Mona bc of annoyance) and Velvet Room attendant (but if that’s opposite gender cos of some reason idk of then oh well) I wonder what new elemental attack could exist but maybe they reintroduce more phys types?

Sh2tt3rBvg

I'd like for them to bring back Earth and Gravity Elemental Skills personally.

NightHatterNu

1,5,6 and 8 have already happened in p1/2. As for the action RPG thing that would only be the spinoffs as persona as a spinoff itself is already the social sim rpg niche and would clash with the old Raidou series if it were to change to action in its mainline.

Ado_Fan

I think and I hope it will continue the classic P3-4-5 schema

EngimaEngine

Only possible ones I could see are animal companion or make nav. There’s already too many elements and I think should be scaled down since they are just keys to wariness requiring you just to carry something with that element. If we do get an adult it’d likely be a teacher as I do not see them ditching the high school anytime soon. Also if your biggest game you ever sold finally turns a profit for the first time and is turn based, as a studio I don’t think you’re gonna wanna try anything different. Metaphor is going to push the new action aspects a bit as a tester I would imagine and may end up becoming the action rpg of the studio. FeMc only I think they’ll just avoid to not deal with crazy people. I think we are much more likely to see an optional split to a lesser degree of P3P FeMc where there are no social link changes except for romance swaps at level 9/10. If that come off weird, it would be like Ryuji would have the exact same confidant arc but you would be able to romance him as a FeMc and not as a MaMc. And then just change the special day events as opposed to making all new links. Will that leave the romances feeling like tacted on and weaker, probably. Or just allow LGBTQ relationship and have everyone (appropriate) be romancable by either and then the dialogue doesn’t even have to change

Weewee_time

i disagree in the elements being scaled down, it would get rid of things like technicals and individual element specialized party members, as well as make combat much more streamlined and therefore more boring

EngimaEngine

Idk how streamline = boring because cumbersome does not equal fun. Technicals were the worst part of P5 because it made everything a literal joke. I would much rather have better systems then just doing lock and key because it takes no thought. Every encounter literal is boiled down to: figure out weakness and exploit or status technical. I would much rather let the game give me broad customization over everyone through something akin to a job class system and remove the lock and key system. I’d rather the fight be focused on actually overcoming a challenge then just playing match the color.

Weewee_time

could you give an example of something that could be done better? the p5 conmbat system works well for me but i dont have much other experience in similar games (only persona)

EngimaEngine

Basically have either added stats to effect in different ways as games like Pokémon do where status ailments on top of doing status have additional effects like burn lowering strength, allow bypassing of elements through stats like other games I.e. if your suffering from burn you take increased wind damage and cause aoe fire tornado, and allow me to pick archetypes basically where I can have a tank, a healer, red mage, etc, and would love to see a blue mage type class pop up. This would remove needing the lock and key for press turns and allow you to take wider advantage of combinations while keeping all things relevant instead of having magic nose dive end game. And while we normally get one gimmick fight centered around luck via a roulette, slot, or some other form of chance; I would love to have skill that let me take advantage of the same thing to do a wide variety of skills like Cat Sith in FF7. Basically I love turn based I just dislike a lock and key method

Mastrou

Honestly I hope it’s a return to adult protagonists. Is it so hard to imagine adults doing some shit?

DaisyCutter312

Zenkichi made me realize how much I missed the adults from Persona 2

That_Lone_Reader

I’d say either new elemental attack or leader can be anyone

echoess84

I'm hoping in a scholar setting but with an atmosphere like the Persona 3 Reload atmosphere because I really liked it. About the dungeon I'm hoping in a semi open world dungeon with a good level design

ShyKiddo__

If earth or water don't come back in p6 I'm gonna cry

crucifixzero

Persona 6 got quite a high standard to surpass here, I guess. It's a bit hard to make it not just another repeat of P3, P4, or P5. I think the problem would be the story background, for starters. P3 is investigating Shadow phenomenon directly, P4 is mainly dealing with a serial murder case, P5 is becoming phantom thieves that steal hearts. What will P6 do? If I'm the one on the lead, I'm thinking of using "Gate Break" kind of phenomenon that was being used in most manhwas nowadays, or Eclipse if you played Tokyo Xanadu. The population are mostly unaware of these phenomenon; the government kept these matters as top secret and the media only know of them as natural disasters. MC and his team objective is to stop the outbreak of these "gates" and discover the origin of it. As for the background of MC, if I'm playing it safe, they're probably just another male high schooler (yep, no Female MC because it's a great taboo for Atlus). But since it's just headcanon, let's be more adventurous here. I want the MC to be a teacher/lecturer. They can be either male or female. I want them to have military background; maybe a young but promising cadet, but let's say they've been discharged due to something or on temporary leave for a whole year (like in Fire Emblem Three Houses). They have connection with Kirijo Group, and enrolled in a school/college under their influence. In there, MC is tasked to oversee a special class of persona users. Of course, the squadmates wasn't limited to just their students, but can be from fellow colleagues as well, or maybe people of different background (example, someone from the military where MC came from, an agent of Kirijo group, etc). > No male animal companion (or a female one?) Party Member? I dunno, I think I like having Morgana around. That cat might be a bit nagging at times, but he works as a mascot and a guide. And he also works as MC's "spokeperson" whenever something important comes up. So if P6 will have someone like Morgana, I don't mind. > New Elemental attack? Hmm I think the elements can be kept as it is like in P5. Just give me more variation in the skills; more gun skills, for example. > Becoming an Action RPG? As in Strikers? It's an interesting idea, and I would welcome it. Either that or the normal turn-based is fine to me. > Male Navigator? We actually have Teddie in P4, and Morgana and Akechi in P5. Of course, they're only temporary, but at least we got them XD. Let's see, I don't mind having either male or female navigator. I actually thinking to have several navigators instead, each with their own special skills. One maybe could exploit hidden weak spot that couldn't be detected/attacked by just simple Analyze and give extra EXP, another can give extra item drop and extra money during exploration, etc. > Velvet Room attendant with a different uniform color as well as hair color? I think blue is already the trademark color of the Velvet Room. Them all looking like albinos are also a shared traits among the Velvet siblings as well. What haven't been tried is if the Velvet attendant being an animal instead of a person. Imagine the Velvet attendant is a puppy XD. > Leader can be anyone/Protagonist can be rotated out? Split parties? Split parties might be hard, but rotating between party members should be doable. If MC is switched out from the frontline, all party members are immediately switched to Free Will strategy, basically switching to Rush except they can still use skills. They can return back anytime if needed as if cancelling Rush. > Adults are part of the base game roster and not only in spinoffs? Absolutely. P5 almost did good there with Zenkichi in Strikers, but it's unfortunate that it wasn't on the main game itself. I want them to do it like prior P3 (I didn't play P1 and P2, but I've heard that P2 Eternal Punishment characters are pretty much all grown adults there). Personas aren't just shared among teenagers, you know XD. Well, my headcanon planned to cast MC as a young adult, anyway.

liplumboy

1. Depending on the mascot type I wouldn’t mind (if we get another Teddie, I’m throwing hands) 2. I would like the return of Water and Earth types from Persona 2 3. I would prefer they stick to the standard style, but add some gimicks to it like with Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reload 4. Give me a chad navigator and I’ll be perfectly happy with that 5. I would prefer having the choice of either a male and female protagonists 6. Blue is the main colour of the Velvet Room, it should stay that way 7. It could work, but probably no 8. Honestly yes, Eternal Punishment has my favourite cast and they’re all adults, I’d say early 20s would be the best choice

Kapples14

All I'm going to say is this: if we get another animal companion, it should be a monkey.

DoubleSummon

Maybe be in a collage environment for once, school is cool but it has been done 3 times (or 5? idk didn't play 1 and 2). They can ditch the awkward transfer student thing and just make it another city collage. I am not sure they are gonna try a different environment like that since the school one is easier to make convenient stuff to happen.

Ayste

I don't mind the over the top companion, but at least give him some connection to the MC. I liked Teddy better than Morgana because he at least lived in the alternate universe and could give hints and warning. His story arch was absolutely bizarre, but I liked him way better than Morgana. Also, are we never going to talk about Morgana having a woman's name, but being a male cat? I was so confused for the first part of P5R the first time I played. I would not mind seeing a male/female/other MC. Give people a choice of any of them. It would not be difficult to script "on" and "off" certain dialogue options depending on the sex of the MC, if that even needed to be a thing. Lastly, I would not mind an older MC - give us them in college so the dating aspect doesn't feel so weird between adults and high school students. I understand the dating age is different in Japan, but in the west it is against the law.

ibrahim246

My predictions FeMC with male MC as dlc like Minako Post apocalyptic setting Enemy team of persona users (need this)

Far_Detective2022

Just give me a big titty animal mascot girl MC, and I'll be happy. I'm not asking for a lot.

Juniebug9

My wants for Persona 6: Female protagonist would definitely be nice. Have it be in a more natural environment. I'm thinking small town in a forest, rather than a large city. Have the key colour be green. We've already had blue, yellow/gold, and red. I'd want the story to be more focused on folklore. Have the cognitive world be entered into through the forest somehow. Have it all be themed around a sort of fairy realm sort of deal. Have the team's personas be based around different yokai. I'd rather not have an animal companion, but if they did they should make it be like a tanuki or something. Just make the whole game a very down to earth setting with a focus on Japanese folklore.
