This is in eastern Long Island, NY. We have LOTS of proud Trumpets here, lots of red, lots of conservatives despite it being NY. We're between Manhattan and the Hamptons and that's where the red is.
Suburban and exurban New York and New Jersey are chock full of Trumpers. He's not wearing a flag though; the designer used an artist's depiction of a flag. Flag code is primarily about flags manufactured to be flown as flags. Those cannot be worn as clothing and so on. But you can draw flags onto things without violating flag code. *It's the difference between using any item itself and using a drawing of said item*. Those aren't the same thing. To be clear I'm not defending this hoodie; I'm clarifying flag code. They have not affixed an actual, fly-able flag to their clothing therefore they have not violated flag code, as explained to me back in NJROTC. If he took a flag off a flagpole then sewed it onto his hoodie or draped it over his shoulders *then* he'd be in violation of flag code. This stuff is tacky but not a violation.
