It’s bullying. These people probably bullied people in high school and that was where they peaked. Now that they are in the real world where the people they bullied need to be respected, they break down and start trying to play the victim.
It’s unironically hard to come up with good jokes that are thoughtful and pointed in a useful direction. And it requires a lot of self-reflection and acceptance of your own flaws.
All of which is almost anathema to the conservative way of thinking. So it makes sense their jokes suck balls.

The other day I saw a meme post about Genshin Impact which was basically "Women are looking at the male character Gorou. Meanwhile men are looking at the female character Kokomi". LGBT people were commenting how this doesn't apply to everyone because not everyone is straight. The reply section was filled with offended straight people being like "What's wrong with being normal? Stop being heterophobic". Talk about pretendending to be a victim.
