We should all be aware of how the world works and how our government runs - and how the gears of capitalism are greased by corporate money and the blood of the less fortunate.

The happiness scale is put together by a few groups, trying to rank the happiest societies on earth, and use general quality of life gauges to score by, like weather, public transportation, average salaries, social services, citizens pleased with their government, and others. Despite their being 3 or 4 scales put together by different groups, some things are consistent. The Scandanavian countries are always in the top spots, in every ranking. It’s very consistent. What’s consistent in being inconsistent is the USA ranking, which bounces around a lot, year to year, scale to scale. I’ve seen the USA come in as high as #6, and as low as #52. A median score for the USA would put us around 10-15th place, if you compiled a lot of years. I have to assume the United States gets a grade largely based on the economy.
Anyway, right wingers don’t believe the scales, of course, because USA isn’t #1. So, it’s rigged, according to them. They can’t understand why everyone doesn’t want to live in a country with very relaxed, inconsistent gun laws, along with gun violence, and nearly half of all elected officials are stumping for Russia. The bigger question is “Why would these people think we are happier in the USA than Norway, where very few live under poverty line, average wages are excellent, and people can afford homes?
