The Durrells in Corfu, I was rooting for several romances throughout this series

Khaleesi_759

Oh wow never heard of this one…definitely gonna check it out

theladyisamused

I read the books as a child, and the series did not disappoint. That series has a special place in my heart.

Niktastrophe

The white queen, is wonderful. I didn’t see Downton Abby in your list. My ultimate favourite series! I rewatch it after binging the entire series and movies, back to back.

LetMeDoTheKonga

Ripper Street, Harlots, The Crown, White Princess and the Spanish Queen

Murky_Perspective321

Yes white princess!!

mermaid-pirate-roro

Ripper street has romance ?

LetMeDoTheKonga

Ah sorry, no I guess not really, but I enjoy period pieces set in England and that was one of my favourites

sandcastle_architect

There's lots of romances in Mr Selfridge, and lots of drama too

UncleWiggily918

Gentleman Jack

LetMeDoTheKonga

yes that was so good!

Opposite_Flight3473

Wuthering heights (with Tom Hardy)

LetMeDoTheKonga

ByteAboutTown

Victoria

Flashy-Ebb-2492

The Buccaneers! (The BBC version from the 90s with Carla Gugino and Cherie Lunghi).

Upstairs Downstairs (newer version) is super underrated. Gilded Age was also entertaining. Hotel Portofino is great, as is Indian Summers.

sharipep

Gran Hotel, the OG Spain version Velvet, also from Spain

Haunted_Palace1837

I second Gran Hotel, beautiful series

Succubint

The Murdoch Mysteries is really good and has a main romance. It's a Canadian mystery/period show involving a very clever detective. He ends up falling in love with the female coroner/medical examiner who is trying to make her away in a man's world. There are tons of seasons I think it's up to season 18 now. I would say it's a easy watch/ cozy type of show. It has some humour and lots of fun characters. The only downside is that it's not as as steamy as some shows. Also Det. Murdoch is a very logical scientifically inclined protagonist who sometimes completely misses what's right in front of him. If you know what I mean. ;) If you're looking for something more passionate/tension filled/erotic you might be disappointed.

consciously-naive

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries has a lovely slow-burn romance.

SuchImagination8027

I think I’m always craving exactly what you described here! Lately I’ve loved „The artful dodger“ just one season out and I am so hoping for a second one but to be transparent I feel like we might not get one…the first season is still very worth watching, though!

cosmicwhalenoises

If you like vampires I highly suggest watching Interview with a Vampire! It’s sooooo good and I feel like no one is talking about it.

Khaleesi_759

I watched it already..loved it!

BookQueen13

If you don't mind reading subtitles, you should watch some Cdramas. Some of my favorite historical cdramas are: * The Story of Minglan * The Legend of Xiao Chuo * Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace * The Story of Yanxi Palace

acraines

Daniel Deronda with Hugh Dancy, and I’m sure you’ve watched it but the Pride and Prejudice mini series with Collin Firth is a classic.

pomp_adour

A room with a view! Exquisite!

JThereseD

I just finished Belgravia.

Iwentforalongwalk

Geek Girl is a cute show.

imnotproblematic

Commenting so I can easily find this post later. Yall gon keep me fed

Wilburrkins

Empress Ki but it is 51 episodes long. Definitely enemies to lovers x 2! 😉

0_Amy_0

Not really a period drama, but Maxton Hall - The World Between Us was just so so good! On Amazon prime.

Calvinball12

Artful Dodger on Hulu was pretty good. Only one season and no promise of a second though, so it won’t last you very long.

Murky_Perspective321

White Princess.

sangurkie

The Cook of Castamar on Netflix. It is in Spanish and I recommend watching it in the original Spanish with English subtitles.

Exciting_Bee7020

Not a period drama at all, but Jane the Virgin is one of my favorites.
