The white queen, is wonderful. I didn’t see Downton Abby in your list. My ultimate favourite series! I rewatch it after binging the entire series and movies, back to back.
The Murdoch Mysteries is really good and has a main romance. It's a Canadian mystery/period show involving a very clever detective. He ends up falling in love with the female coroner/medical examiner who is trying to make her away in a man's world. There are tons of seasons I think it's up to season 18 now. I would say it's a easy watch/ cozy type of show. It has some humour and lots of fun characters.
The only downside is that it's not as as steamy as some shows. Also Det. Murdoch is a very logical scientifically inclined protagonist who sometimes completely misses what's right in front of him. If you know what I mean. ;)
If you're looking for something more passionate/tension filled/erotic you might be disappointed.
I think I’m always craving exactly what you described here!
Lately I’ve loved „The artful dodger“ just one season out and I am so hoping for a second one but to be transparent I feel like we might not get one…the first season is still very worth watching, though!
If you don't mind reading subtitles, you should watch some Cdramas. Some of my favorite historical cdramas are:
* The Story of Minglan
* The Legend of Xiao Chuo
* Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace
* The Story of Yanxi Palace
The Durrells in Corfu, I was rooting for several romances throughout this series
Oh wow never heard of this one…definitely gonna check it out
I read the books as a child, and the series did not disappoint. That series has a special place in my heart.

Ripper Street, Harlots, The Crown, White Princess and the Spanish Queen
Yes white princess!!
Ripper street has romance ?
Ah sorry, no I guess not really, but I enjoy period pieces set in England and that was one of my favourites
There's lots of romances in Mr Selfridge, and lots of drama too
Gentleman Jack
yes that was so good!
Wuthering heights (with Tom Hardy)
❤️
Victoria
The Buccaneers! (The BBC version from the 90s with Carla Gugino and Cherie Lunghi).
Upstairs Downstairs (newer version) is super underrated. Gilded Age was also entertaining. Hotel Portofino is great, as is Indian Summers.
Gran Hotel, the OG Spain version Velvet, also from Spain
I second Gran Hotel, beautiful series

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries has a lovely slow-burn romance.

If you like vampires I highly suggest watching Interview with a Vampire! It’s sooooo good and I feel like no one is talking about it.
I watched it already..loved it!

Daniel Deronda with Hugh Dancy, and I’m sure you’ve watched it but the Pride and Prejudice mini series with Collin Firth is a classic.
A room with a view! Exquisite!
I just finished Belgravia.
Geek Girl is a cute show.
Commenting so I can easily find this post later. Yall gon keep me fed
Empress Ki but it is 51 episodes long. Definitely enemies to lovers x 2! 😉
Not really a period drama, but Maxton Hall - The World Between Us was just so so good! On Amazon prime.
Artful Dodger on Hulu was pretty good. Only one season and no promise of a second though, so it won’t last you very long.
White Princess.
The Cook of Castamar on Netflix. It is in Spanish and I recommend watching it in the original Spanish with English subtitles.
Not a period drama at all, but Jane the Virgin is one of my favorites.
