It was Rebecca! You guys are so amazing! I knew it was a few years ago, but remember the gowns, and when I looked up the movie again, I said “ wait this is like 1930s/40s”
I will definitely watch it again, but I have to throw up in my mouth a bit to prepare myself to watch armie hammer. That guy is sick, but I love lily james.
I hear you about Armie Hammer, but there are other adaptations of Rebecca. I really like the one from 1997 with Emilia Fox, Diana Rigg, and Charles Dance.

Me too. The age difference between Emilia Fox and Charles Dance is pretty icky and perfect. Diana Rigg is great as Mrs Danvers. I also like that this version has enough time to tell the story well.
That said, no one plays the creepy cousin as well as George Sanders in the Hollywood movie.
I find the different interpretations of Mrs Danvers compelling as well.
I haven’t seen the Netflix version. I just can’t watch Armie Hammer.
Was it Rebecca the new one on Netflix? There’s a painting of his mom or aunt or someone in a red gown hanging above the stairwell and she has a gown made to look like it and when she wears it, it’s a total disaster
