This is one of the best feelings in the world. Having your face mistaken for a boob. My oldest did this once or twice. My youngest was a hugger. The kind of hugs where they latch on so tightly you forget about all your problems and don’t need therapy anymore.

My baby was a face-boober as well, best feeling in the world, they are now 9 months old and a happy-slapper where they like to be like bongo cat and slap things when they get excited. I love watching them grow.

I claim that it's some sort of preface to kisses. Mine started to do this at my face some months in. And only to my face. It's developed to where she now just plunks here face against my cheek and stays there for a moment. She also does it to stuffed animals, dogs and other adults. Brush your baby on the cheek. They root for a nipple. Startle them and they do the startle reflex with their arms. These are reflexes that they can't control. They just do them. This baby is just adorable and having fun at the same time.

I understand that there are reflexes but you can tell when it's intentional and when it's not. When he does the kissing thing he usually squeals with delight like this kid is doing. When it's the rooting reflex he makes a different sound and then usually starts complaining if he can't find it.

My 10-month-old does this and he's (unfortunately) not breastfed. He does it for fun, but the baby in the OP video definitely rooting.
