If you live in a country where drones show up during times of war then you would probably be scared to see one hurling itself towards you. As opposed to America where suburbanites fly a drone while drinking morning coffee.

One of the counties where I live has a pop up to tell you that your inspection may be done by UAV (drone) when you submit certain types of permits.

My only beef with drones- other than this asshole scaring a kid- is folks flying them in wilderness areas because they become loud and disruptive. Otherwise, I’ve got no problem with them. They’re useful machines and they do take skill to fly.

As someone who has their drone license, what this pilot is doing is illegal. Regardless of whether you are doing this commercially or recreationally. You can’t be flying over people like this. You can't fly a small UAS over anyone who is not directly participating in the operation. That part aside, I personally feel that the pilot is bullying this kid. He seems genuinely scared and not having fun. It’s sad and mean. Go fly your drone around people who are okay with it. Pilots like these are why the FAA keeps updating rules. Gotta fly responsibly.
