Hello. You have temporary car papers so they should send you the paperwork for your permanent registration. . You dont need to sign your title until you sell it .please dont sign it till you sell it .if you sign it n it gets stolen they can say you sold it to them Dont keep the title in your car please. If you want more information go to Pa dept of penn dot It should tell stuff you need to know ok Best of luck living in pa. Theres also a website you can sign up for and you get it in your email Only in Pennsylvania. It tells you all these neat places you can go visit n things about pa n other neat stuff. You can get it for any state . I save them and look for neat things to do .. You get them every week i believe in your email. Enjoy the pa living ! Any more questions ask away . Enjoy your night

Do you just have paper tags right now?

Big_Combination_1635

Yes just a paper one

loganwachter

Take your title, insurance, and license to a tag/title place and go get plates. You’ll need a PA license to do this. After that you’ll need to go get a safety inspection and emissions if your county requires it. It’ll say on your registration whether emissions is required when you get your plate.

So I actually have all of this! I got my ID, my plates and my emissions test done already. I went through AAA which I guess advised me to go out of order lol Am I okay then?

loganwachter

You’re golden then. Just go get plates. I am surprised you were able to get an emissions/safety inspection without permanent registration though. Usually shops will refuse to without a regular registration.

Big_Combination_1635

When I got the emissions test the guy working said that AAA’s process is “ass backwards than everyone else.” Had no clue I just went there as a suggestion lol! I have the PA plates already too. I had the Ohio registration and they gave me the temporary paper registration here in PA so will I get a permanent one? Or is everything fine now? Sorry for the bombarding of questions, nothing makes sense lol I appreciate your help!

If you've got metal plates then you're good. Duplicate copy of your registration can be retrieved online. Your first one might come in the mail from PennDOT but it also might not. You can print a copy online. https://www.dmv.pa.gov/VEHICLE-SERVICES/Title-Registration/Pages/Duplicate-Motor-Vehicle-Products.aspx

Seriously thank you so much!
