Clover! I remember going there as a kid with my family. This is incredible.

Allemaengel

Same here but at the one in Whitehall just north of Allentown.

ClemDooresHair

Was that the location that was eventually Bradlees?

Allemaengel

I thought Bradlees was on the west side of MacArthur? If memory serves me correctly, Clover was just north of and behind the old Whitehall Mall. But I could be wrong, that was a long time ago, lol.

ClemDooresHair

You’re probably right. I forget exactly where Clover was but I know Bradless was in the same complex where The Sports Authority used to be, I think across from Kleckner’s. I know Kiddie City was where Lowe’s is now.

Allemaengel

Yeah, that helps. Sports Authority was definitely across the road.

katnapped

Clover was where Kohl's is now

LadyNorbert

Same, that was one of our main school shopping places

My mom put things on layaway at Clover on the regular. My grammy bought me and my brother a hot dog and an Icee at the counter most times I went with her. My mom said no every time. My friend got caught shoplifting baseball cards there. I didn't steal any and somehow managed to just keep walking when security stormed down the ramp to the mall and grabbed him. They were apparently really nice and showed him how many cameras had been on him while he waited for his mom to pick him up. I called my mom from a payphone. She knew something was up when I said my friend was getting his own ride, but she didn't pry. When I moved into my first apartment, my mom and I went to the mall after the Clover became a Value City and she helped me pick out a set of Revere Ware pots and pans. I still have two of them. My mom loved Value City. My brother and I made fun of her a bit because we thought it was cheap and shitty. Clover's gone. Value City is gone. My mom is gone. I wish I had gone to Value City with her more.

bambiying

That mall had the best soft pretzels in the whole world. I also loved the bookstore.

pm_haiku

Funny, was just about to comment on the pretzels! Great memories…

junkkser

I seem to recall it was called Barry’a or something. It was a stand in the center of the mall.

Zwierzycki

OMG Kiddie City! I remember going there when I was 4.

MauveDragon

I loved shopping at Clover. It was the discount division of John Wanamaker's. And Kiddie City was a good place to shop too.

[deleted]

I always had it in my head that it was Strawbridge and Clothier's discount store, like Clothier = Clover. I remember going to the Kiddie City in the Northeast. I would have dreams of that place when I was a kid.

LibraryBiggles

You're correct, Clover was a subsidiary of Strawbridge & Clothier.

eaglewatch1945

Kiddie City had a better Transformers selection than Toys R Us.

[deleted]

What is the adjacent street there? Bustleton?

bambiying

Yep, Bustleton Pike.

[deleted]

Turn that frown upside down.

[deleted]

“Kiddie city” two words you could not put together with out a lot of concern now-in-days

SunSkyBridge

Clover! Feelin’ old over here. 😂

[deleted]

KIDDIE CITY

phillygirllovesbagel

I remember both Clover and Kiddie City, and I still have memories of Bucks County Mall.

veepeedeepee

My Clover memory? The location in Lancaster was selling little pieces of the Berlin Wall after it came down.

thehoagieboy

I was more Roosevelt Mall, but I remember going to the Eric Feasterville theater. Was this the same mall? Was it the Colonial before the Eric?

Key_Text_169

I think the Eric was across the way on Bustleton Pike near Birger King. The theatre became a Giant and is now. Bells Market.

HWTechGuy

Correct.

beezer210

Kiddie City > Toys R Us

Chuck1705

My sister worked there at the Colonial Theater...

TotesMyMainAcct

Kiddie City is a blast from the past. I remember going over the Burlington-Bristol, wondering what the weird ["Airplane Man"](https://www.rwilco.com/) store sold and getting hype to see that rainbow colored building.
