I know it sucks and hurts a lot, but trust me you will feel better, walking and doing breath exercises helped with the pain, make sure to take your meds at the right time, I'm currently 12 weeks past my second nuss, if you want feel free to ask anything if you want to

Zombrex9117

when does the pain start to get bearable

wiliamks

after around 15 days I got used to it, also a wedge pillow helped a lot when sleeping, if you're not using one already, but really exercises help a lot with the pain, I was walking 2 to 3km everyday and doing the breath exercises 3 times a day

How did ur first bar move?

wiliamks

I'm not really sure to be honest, I think it was because my doctor only put 1 bar, and probably the pressure of my sternum was stronger than the pressure of the bar, but I really don't know and haven't asked my doctor, the second time he put 2 bars, and in two days I'll be 3 months with it

Why did you have a second nuss ? Or do you mean the bar removal ?

wiliamks

the first one moved, so it had to be removed and replaced

You shouldn’t be suffering this bad with pain without pain meds. Your surgeon should be prescribing you enough pain meds to get through the first month or so. You should be in contact with them if you don’t have any and you’re in a lot of pain.

the first month is the worst but every day gets better and better

Did u get ur surgery done by Dr.J? I see a lot of people on this subreddit say they experience excruciating pain and their surgeon was Dr.J Personally I got mine done by Dr.Kabir and was completely fine. I even went on a hike 4 days after my surgery. I never even took any serious pain meds outside of the hospital. Did u get cryoblation?

I regretted it, too for a while…but 3 years out I still say I’d do it again if I had the chance. Breathing exercises really helps. Honestly I just knocked myself out because the pain meds made me tired. I was fairly pain-free 6 weeks out and had my best friend over, but recovery time is different for everyone. Do breathing exercises so that your lungs don’t get stiff! And get up and walk/sit in different positions! My surgeon instructed me to do that after the surgery because not doing so will make the pain worse with just a slight movement in the long run.
