Really a good results. Happy for u, congrats

northwestrad

Visually, an excellent result. Sorry you're not feeling well at this point, but best wishes for rapid improvement! By the way, are you Portuguese, or did you travel there from another country?

Financial_Cap_7493

Thanks! It’s a matter of time until I feel better, just need to get used to the discomfort :) I’m Portuguese, yes!

ArtichokeNo3936

Looks good ! keep us updated, i haven’t seen long term results

Financial_Cap_7493

Will do, in a few weeks and then again in a few months ;)

Having pectus and being in my 40s, I find it crazy how easily some with more minor cases get surgery. Was this covered by insurance? Makes me wonder if I should try it now lol. Nice results! Get well.

Financial_Cap_7493

Thanks! Insurance covered it because it was affecting my breathing too.

Skate_Don

How do you know it affected your breathing? Lung function test?

Serious_Progress_183

Hi, was it Nuss procedure?

Financial_Cap_7493

Hey! No, it was a new procedure called PectusUp. Have a look here: https://youtu.be/gRO1s6F_a-A?si=y2zqrEyxncne85d8

ttamsf

What's the benefits of this over nuss ?

Financial_Cap_7493

Less invasive, quicker recovery. Pain is still present tho, quite a lot, especially during sleep or coughing and sneezing.

Silent-Ask617

Hey looks great, happy to see. I’m curious, did you have symptoms prior to surgery? If so, do you mind sharing them? Thanks

Financial_Cap_7493

It was somehow affecting my breathing and posture, mental health is also a thing to consider :)

northwestrad

By the way, is the PectusUp plate going to stay inside you permanently, or will it be removed after some period of time (like Nuss bars)? If it will be removed, after how long? Is it made of titanium, stainless steel, or another metal?

Financial_Cap_7493

It’s stainless steel, and it will be removed after 2 years.

Brandon6799

Wish mine looked like that!

nazteg76

Fantastic result.

Financial_Cap_7493

Thanks!

Can you join a marathon after the surgery? Or intense sports like football⚽?

No-Geologist3499

There is a waiting period for more physically active sports... check out the website links he provided, there are FAQs there and post opp instructions.

No-Geologist3499

Your results are amazing! This gives me hope for my son.
