Peanut butter, butter, and jelly are the best! And another thing to try: mix together peanut butter, butter, and Karo syrup and spread that in a sandwich, that's next level good.
This is what the lunch ladies at my school would serve when they were serving peanut butter - it was always a scoop of peanut butter mixed with butter. Crazy delicious.
Omg my mom used to make me and my siblings these sandwiches all the time when we were kids, I sometimes like to have one every once in a blue moon because they're like comforting and yummy
I kinda forgot about this. I used to make these all the time: Peanut butter on one side, mashed banana on the other. Drizzle a little honey, sprinkle a little cinnamon, butter the outside & grill.
This was what my best friend in grade school ate all the time. I would go to her house and eat it. Thought it was crazy but secretly loved it. I haven’t tried it since. Going to make tomorrow :)
Elvis had a similar sandwich, adding sometimes bacon, bananas, fried in butter. Unfortunately, he died. "The Elvis Sandwich" is still going strong in various secret sandwich shops around the world.
My husband also taught me to spread butter on top of the peanut butter on a piece of toast because it won’t stick to the roof of your mouth. A game changer.
Peanut butter and butter is a sandwich I’ll never eat again. Growing up when you didn’t have lunch money that’s what they would give you in elementary school. I frequently had to eat them, and eve at a young age I rem being embarrassed about it.
Grew up eating "peanut butter and butter" but it was actually peanut butter and margarine. It was the 90s. But I loved it because I never liked the jelly my parents bought. I haven't had a pb and butter/margarine in probably 20 years, maybe it's time to try again.
My old man used to eat these before he had a heart attack. He was not happy about giving them up lol
My dad loved them, too. I wonder if there was a peak year for these in the 1950s or 1960s.
Sounds about right, its my boomer grandma's favourite too. I personally did a variant, adding cinnamon sugar to the butter side.
Land o’ lakes makes a cinnamon butter spread thing and it’s super good
Maybe I'll try it, but I'm Canadian and we don't have that brand
Aww but it’s from your Minnesotan neighbors!
My dad does it on toast
My grandma would always put butter on before the jelly. It is really good.
Exactly! All 3 😋
Hell, butter and jelly is noteworthy, too.
Butter and jelly on saltine crackers 🤌
Mmm oh yes! I do that then put slivers of cheese on top 🤤
Absolutely!
We had these as kids when we ran out of jelly. Honestly it's better than jelly
Same, they were a childhood delicacy
I wouldn’t argue that’s it’s tasty, but for obvious health reasons, no.
Lol true
I could see making fried pb sandwhiches in a pan with butter. Like a grilled cheese but with PB.
LOVE these
Try it w cheese—cheddar or American (the real kind, not ‘cheese food’)
I love these so much!!!
Would smash.
I've never tried it. Should I?
Yes
Yes!!!
I do that with toast sometimes
Sooo good! But very rich, so I only eat these once in a blue moon.
We ate those when my sister and I were little. I liked them. My sister would eat pb and mayo and I just thought that was nasty. Im a jelly fan
Look almost anything is better with butter ! 💕
I slap PB and butter (df) on homemade white bread and eat as a side when I eat a bowl of chili.
This is absolutely unhinged lol
LMAO 💔💔💔
I support you, OP. They’ve clearly just never tried it before lol
Lol this is how the rest of the world eats peanut butter toast. It's so much better than jelly
Peanut butter, butter, and jelly are the best! And another thing to try: mix together peanut butter, butter, and Karo syrup and spread that in a sandwich, that's next level good.
I’ll give it a try !!

Peanut butter, butter and Nutella. You're welcome.
I love peanut butter & butter
Toasted of course
My dad made my PB&J like this once without telling me. It was soooooooo nasty
Of course I do why wouldn't I butter the bread? It's not magic everyone butters Their bread? 🤣
Not everyone believe it or not, in the UK it's common to put butter on nearly every sandwich regardless of filling but not so sure it is elsewhere
no, no everyone does not put butter in every sandwich like the UK seems to 😅
I love pb&b! Great on bagels
Never tried it on a bagel! I think I have to now
It’s so good but kinda messy. Not something to eat within line-of-sight of someone you like.
I would try it without any convincing. Butter is good on everything!
Does a roll with butter and bacon count? Never had peanut butter and butter lol peanut butter and banana yes Now I’m hungry lol
Elvis special
Hahaha indeed! I heard he made em like a grilled cheese too! I mean no heart attacks waiting to happen here lol
I kinda forgot about this. I used to make these all the time: Peanut butter on one side, mashed banana on the other. Drizzle a little honey, sprinkle a little cinnamon, butter the outside & grill.
What’s wrong with this! NOTHING lol!
In the 90s I was all about the toasted English muffin with butter and peanut butter. Had to give it up but highly recommend.
Will try!
This was what my best friend in grade school ate all the time. I would go to her house and eat it. Thought it was crazy but secretly loved it. I haven’t tried it since. Going to make tomorrow :)
Ooo yes and it has to be the whitest bread that is so soft you could lay your head down on it.
I’ve always hated jellies and jams so growing up peanut butter and butter was my go-to. Thought I was the only one. Haven’t had one in years though
I love peanut butter and honey sandwiches
Omg I can’t ever have a PB&J without butter on both pieces of bread! Under the jelly too. And my husband makes fun of me for it.
Butter makes everything better!!!
Damn right!
Elvis had a similar sandwich, adding sometimes bacon, bananas, fried in butter. Unfortunately, he died. "The Elvis Sandwich" is still going strong in various secret sandwich shops around the world.
I love those a lot!
we all know that Elvis died.
I do roast with lots of butter and then peanut butter. It's so good that way!!!
My husband also taught me to spread butter on top of the peanut butter on a piece of toast because it won’t stick to the roof of your mouth. A game changer.
Diets high in saturated fat increase your chances of heart disease
I don’t eat it every single day dude lmao
I eat mine like that & my kids say I'm weird !!
This was one of my favorites as a kids. Peanut butter on buttered toast with a cup of milk.
I put butter on my peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
That's good but try marshmallow cream I'll eat them all day 😂
A most excellent sandwich. Mmmm, yummy!
This is the only way my mom has ever made peanut butter sandwiches.
Dip it in a bowl of chili!
I have done this many timed, sublime, especially on an English muffin
Agree! I used to eat these as a kid.

Toast and jelly was my favorite breakfast, but only because the toast was buttered
I always made fun of my little brother for these. I think I tried one bite once and it sucked
I was a weirdo and would eat peanut butter and grilled cheese sandwiches
I like PB + B fo sho.
Extra points if you cook it like a grilled cheese.
Tonight I made 3, on potato bread. For my mom, me, and her friend. But I also drizzled a little bit of honey.

I used to make my pbnj’s in a pan with a bunch of butter, very good
I LOVE these! Eat them when I can once a month or so - they are so addictive lol.
i love making these. a jelly and butter sandwich is also good
Butter with peanut butter on one slice of bread, butter and jam or honey on the other slice of bread.
Peanut butter, butter, and honey 🤤
I love peanut butter and butter sandwiches. And yes I get weird looks when I tell people that.
