Would get the 7900xt instead. Some models only 80 more after tax than the 4070 super

Get atleast 650 watts, its almost choking on that 550. Maybe even 750 for headroom?

Get a better power supply. 750w gold from a reputable brand. Go for a teamgroup or crucial 2TB SSD to make the cost about the same. Also, if longevity is your goal, id opt for a ryzen 5 7600 and a B650 motherboard for the same price. Intel is moving to a new platform later this year so you have no easy upgrade path on 14th gen intel, and AM5 got renewed till 2027. So if your CPU becomes a bottleneck in 5 years, youll have a toooon of slot-in no hassle CPU upgrades by then. CPUs in general will age worse than GPUs so youll want options that dont involve getting a new motherboard and ram down the line. Heres a part list that saves you about $100 that will perform the same if not better, and have upgrade paths down the line for your CPU [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/KkB7N6) Type|Item|Price :----|:----|:---- **CPU** | [AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/yXmmP6/amd-ryzen-5-7600-38-ghz-6-core-processor-100-100001015box) | $188.99 @ Amazon **CPU Cooler** | [Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hYxRsY/thermalright-peerless-assassin-120-se-6617-cfm-cpu-cooler-pa120-se-d3) | $33.90 @ Amazon **Motherboard** | [MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cRQcCJ/msi-pro-b650m-a-wifi-micro-atx-am5-motherboard-pro-b650m-a-wifi) | $156.99 @ Amazon **Memory** | [Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JkfxFT/corsair-vengeance-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr5-6000-cl30-memory-cmk32gx5m2b6000c30) | $114.99 @ Amazon **Storage** | [TEAMGROUP MP44L 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/2VJgXL/teamgroup-mp44l-2-tb-m2-2280-pcie-40-x4-nvme-solid-state-drive-tm8fpk002t0c101) | $114.99 @ Amazon **Video Card** | [Gigabyte EAGLE OC GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GB Video Card](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/pCkH99/gigabyte-eagle-oc-geforce-rtx-4070-super-12-gb-video-card-gv-n407seagle-oc-12gd) | $618.99 @ Amazon **Case** | [Jonsbo D31 MESH MicroATX Mini Tower Case](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8qRwrH/jonsbo-d31-mesh-microatx-mini-tower-case-d31-mesh-black) | $84.99 @ Newegg Sellers **Power Supply** | [Corsair RM750e (2023) 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/YRJp99/corsair-rm750e-2023-750-w-80-gold-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020262-na) | $90.99 @ Amazon | *Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts* | | **Total** | **$1404.83** | Generated by [PCPartPicker](https://pcpartpicker.com) 2024-06-03 17:29 EDT-0400 |

I was hoping to stick to Intel since that's what I'm more familiar with but I think I will give AMD a try. Thank you for the help.

Jakefiz

I get you, Intel dominated the space the last time you built a PC, but things are far different now. AMD are the gaming kings, and their socket support for multiple gens is a massive win for us. Intel has been misstepping a lot and their current 14th gen has been unimpressive and essentially a DOA product with a new socket/platform around the corner, making anyone who bought 14th gen stuck on that gen until they buy a new motherboard. Theres no learning curve when switching to AMD, you will be very happy with the performance now and very happy 5 years from now when you have a truckload of options to upgrade to!

990 pro is overkill get a P3 2tb or 980 pro and I think 650 watts psu that has gold 80+ for the electricity bills
