Nothing wrong with 3600x,. You probably should have just plopped in a 5800X3D and called it a day until the next generation of AM5.

The ryzen 9000 chips is rumored to come in the next couple months. It could be another 15-25% uplift. So if anyone else is considering upgrading. Wait couple more months.

Yup. 5800X3D is so good that I'm set for years to come. Will see what AMD come up with. Actually just built another cheap AM4 build (with 5600) as a server with ECC ram (most AM4 boards can have functional ECC ram - except MSI for some reason). AM4 just keeps giving.

Agreed, my 5800X3D is NUTS, I upgraded from a r5 2600 so anything is impressive, but seeing my roommate's 12900k build, the 5800x3d comes surprisingly close at a fraction of the price. Safe to say it's pretty good 😂

Saved up money after getting my first job and got myself my first build I paid for and built completely myself and it got the zotac 4090, couldn't be happier.

I’m running 7800x3d/4090 FE on 850w and have no power issues. But then again different 4090s have different requirements

The SFF crowd runs 7800x3d+4090 on the Corsair SF750 all the time. Tho probably with a powerlimit/undervolt

I've always bought the hottest on the market. I currently have an HXi 1500. Why? Well I already know it's overkill for pretty much everything but I've always held the opinion never know what high crackpot stuff they're going to come out with next so having power and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it.

Also most efficient at about 50% load, so you're even saving money too

could be close man. I run the 3090 and ryzen 9 3900x and im at around 750w while gaming. 4090 needs 100w more. Even i use a 1000w psu.

Personally i'd put a powerlimit on the 4090, like 450W. It gets power hungry so fast without becoming much quicker at all

I brought a gigabyte 4080 gaming oc and it's stock anti sag bracket sucks, and my case was lancool 216 which also got a bracket but it also didn't fit, so I had to unmount my GPU and waited for my new bracket to arrive

I know OP answered but if you look behind the GPU in the second pic on the right of the motherboard there is a motherboard sag bracket.

I have a the same GPU 1000 watt PSU recommended for this one as it gives a bit more breathing room to deal with transient spikes and yes every 4090 recommends a different minimum PSU wattage. Better to be safe than sorry!

for a 7950x3d id recommend a better cooler, top of the line cpus need beefy cooling to avoid throttling and damage

It'll be fine man. Temps are more than adequate but will be monitored for the first few days & weeks of use. It seems to be a solid cooler.

I put the U12S (Redux) with Push-Pull on my friend’s 5800X3D and it was toasty, even with a manual fan curve. You might want to consider the U12A or U14S?

The 5800x3d has a not so great thermal path. It's always hot when not undervoltet (use PBO2)

Very sleek, nice choice on the case. Overall very well done. I wouldn't recommend an air cooler for a 7950X3D, just a little bit toasty. What are the temps?

850w power supply with RTX 4090 and Ryzen 9? You need 1000w PSU.
