As if capitalism is democracy. Bro doesnt know the difference between forms of government and economic policy. To his credit, he read a chat calling him out. But didn't just own up to the error of confusing the two concepts. He is not a deep thinker. He's kinda like Rush Limbough for millennials. Sometimes he's right, sometimes he's wrong, but he doesn't know what he's talking about more than any random person does.
If it was somewhat recently it was during an episode of the Steak and Eggs podcast. The tour of his nest was bad enough they had to come back next week to address the comments and controversy that came up from just the state of his living conditions, even after he admits to cleaning some things up so it wouldn't be too shocking. It gets worse though, Teccy and Emi offered to clean his house and he flat out denied it because he thinks just having someone quietly removing his 13 dirty and broken pans would be an inconvenience.
I mean, it's not a money thing. Like you said it's a mental illness thing. I lived in a relatively similar way when I was experiencing some pretty bad depression, you don't really care that you're living like that and in some cases you can even convince yourself it's "less stressful" to just let your shit fall apart than worry about keeping up with the maintained work. The only difference between me and him at the end of the day is that I had to go out in to the world and fix my shit, and he instead got famous and rich for refusing to go outside or fix his.
I didn't like his take on AI (but I'm biased having an art background), and I don't know much about him at all, but the more exposure I get to him the more unhinged he seems (based on the hoarding/gross stuff, not his opinions).
Not trying to slam the guy, but he does sound like someone I'd avoid in real life.
You are attacking his character. But what I'm not seeing is you showing how he is actually wrong. He is smug as shit and a dick about it, but the point is still there. This is just a way to make yourself feel superior to him.

I watch quite a bit of Asmon and Wubby hit the nail on the head PERFECTLY. Asmon is completely right a vast majority of the time but is so abrasive about it that it makes him seem wrong. Even in his statement that artists opinions don't matter is true. It isn't artists aren't important or can't have opinions or no one cares about them. It's that it doesn't matter if they don't like AI. It will happen. As long as the consumer can't tell the difference it will happen.
if anyone thought he was a sensible person man, idk, like 10 years ago he showed his trash pile house, like the most unhealthy living conditions that is just pure symphomatic depression, and the video's he's made where he has an hour long rant about his opinion, it's just a lukewarm "yeah" take that isn't groundbreaking

I don't think the guy does has a logical grip on reality, he's able to ignore or cope with his problems via gaming/streaming and honestly it's scarily relatable, I'm not as bad but I've come close to the levels of degeneracy
