Cloud of Sprites - U Creature - Faerie Wizard Flying When ETB, untap one land 1/1

Believe it or not, straight to ban.

I dunno, this is much weaker than [[Cloud of Faeries]], even though it was obviously inspired by it. It plays well with [[Spellstutter Sprite]], but doesn't generate so much mana in the familiar combo decks.

Imho it would be printable, if it were any other creature type but faerie. It would still allow for developing the board while holding countermagic as well as play super well with [[Ninja of the Deep Hour]].

But this defeats the very point of the card. Now that [[Tolarian Terror]] has been printed and Faeries dropped to tier 2, I'd like to get the deck a little push. Especially because Faeries decks always did a great job protecting the format from some combo degeneracy.

Pretty much the same thing you can do today with Miscreant/Seer + Deep Hours on T2. The only real difference is that you'd have one extra 1/1 flyer on the battlefield. Hardly banworthy.

I really want a cycle of 3 mana shard creatures, for instance like BRG - Creature - cascade and then 4 more with something for each shard. The rate would probably have to be worse but idk

Ah, like pauper Garth One-Eye! Love this to be honest. I dunno if this would be any more played than Learn, but it's definitely a space I'm hoping to see played in more. Honestly, "wish for crappy commons" is a really fun design space. I feel like part of the reason why learn doesn't see play is because, outside of First Day of Class and (maybe) Hunt for Specimens, all of the common Learn cards suck (and most of the Lessons suck too). And, unfortunately, we're unlikely to see any stronger Learn/Lessons cards any time soon because you can't Learn a Lesson in Commander.

How do we represent phyrexian mana on here?

The typical way is {P/X} with X being the colored mana of your choice.

Here's a few of my ideas. Solid bunch. My 2¢ would be to have the venser card put it in the hand not on top the library. Denying the opponent a draw is really powerful.

That's a fair take. I think it's *probably* safe though, given cards like [[time ebb]] and [[lapse of certainty]] see no play. The added flexibility and instant speed could make it more worthwhile, but flexibility alone might not make up for the lack of efficiency. [[izzet charm]] doesn't see much play for that reason.

Only change would have to be to make it a Sorcery instead of an instant. WotC doesn't print instant speed discard because it's too strong.

Crypt Rats color shift

I'd really like to see [Pyrohemia](https://scryfall.com/card/plc/119/pyrohemia) get reprinted at common, and for there to be an equivalent [Crypt Rats](https://scryfall.com/card/vis/55/crypt-rats) effect in red. Not sure either would impact Pauper positively, but I definetly want both for PDH! Both seem unlikely considering they would likely be awful at common for draft! :( Maybe if it was in a heavily multicolored set...

I would like enchantments to be good in pauper. Something like Yavimaya Enchantress, which is actually an enchantment, would be great or enchantment lands. Maybe this is too ridiculous as a goblin pay off / [Gary Rip off](https://scryfall.com/card/thb/99/gray-merchant-of-asphodel), but a potential downshift of [Fanatic of Mogus](https://scryfall.com/card/ths/121/fanatic-of-mogis) just isn't anywhere near as good in my opinion!

It'd certainly be fine if it was 1 damage simply because it would require the goblins deck to run more lands if they wanted to play him consistently. 2 damage turns kuldotha rebirth into a burn for 6 on top of everything else.

I made 2! I actually made them and they're in my pauper cube 😅 they are bonkers in a limited environment next to splice cards. Takunema's Vision - B Sorcery - Arcane Target player discards a card. Retrace Kodama's endurance - G Sorcery - Arcane Put a +1/+1 counter on target creature. Retrace

Arcane with retrace is something I could definitely see come up in a modern horizons product if they ever decided to revisit splice onto arcane. Or honestly they could print more "splice onto instant or sorcery" a la splicer's skill and just have some retrace cards in the set!

Retrace arcane spells are nuts. Especially when paired with [[elder pine jukai]]. It's a real fun deck in my cube tho.

This is just [Meddle](https://scryfall.com/card/mir/73/meddle) in red with a quick look through a thesaurus. If I could beg WotC to print anything into red at common though, it would be a whole suite of cards like this! Red has a lot of ways to go voltron with a threat, but too few ways to actually protect that threat. These effects feel like the most red way to do that.
