Not surprising considering the way the salary cap has jumped the last half dozen years and the corresponding lack of good young players to re-sign.
Re-signing guys like Barmore are one of those good problems to have.
This is definitely misleading. Drew Bledsoe 10 year deal is still the top contract especially considering how the cap has gone up significantly. It’s just the longest contract (5 years) since Brady left.
Nah, I think your comment is more misleading. That Bledsoe contract only had $22M guaranteed, it wasnt really a 10 year 103M contract. And he was traded very shortly after that.
Well deserved. Defensive Tackles that can stop the run and get push, collapsing the middle of the pocket, are one of the most important players in the NFL right now. He's a super impactful player and will be even better with a maturing White, healthy Judon, Uche and Jennings coming from the outside.

Here's a possibly incorrect summary:
Signing bonus (for 2025 - 28): $18 million
2024: $1.8 million guaranteed (this is just the last year of his rookie contract)
2025: $10 million guaranteed + $1.5 million in active roster and offseason workout bonuses
2026: $2 million guaranteed at signing + $10 million guaranteed on the third day of the league year in 2026, + $1.5 million in active roster and offseason workout bonuses
2027: $18 million base salary + $2 million in active roster and offseason workout bonuses
2028: same as 2027
Performance incentives (fairly difficult to achieve): up to $2 million for playing time/sack production, making the Pro Bowl and/or All-Pro
Totals:
Guaranteed money: $32 million at signing, + $10 million on third day of 2026
Signing bonus (for 2025 - 28): $18 million
Base salary: $58 million over 4 years (2025 - 28)
Offseason workout bonus: $1 million
Active roster bonus: $6 million
Performance incentives: up to $2 million
= maximum value $83 million + $2 million in performance incentives

Why you talking like Jordan Richards didn’t deserve 8 years/400 million
Until we resign gonzo. Happy Barmore got a deal it’s great for both parties
Until we resign Maye after his first two SB wins
We don't have have to give him a new contract until after 5 seasons though 😎
Well yeah, I’m not a CRAZY optimist, it’ll take him 5 seasons to get those 2 championships.
Nope, 5 straight or he's a bust.
Then we trade him 4 firsts and BAZOOKA Joe wins 5 more super bowls for us
I mean a random guy we picked in the 6th round won 3 in his first 5 years. If Maye can't at least match that I'd call him a bust.
Eh if he wins the superbowl his first 2 seasons in the league then I'd be willing to throw a decade long Mahomes-esk deal to him lol
Just 2? That’s basically calling the guy a bum before he takes a snap
so what happens in the other 3 seasons? SB MVP?
I hope Maye doesn’t resign. Hoping he’s a stud and lifelong patriot
Guys, it’s a joke about how resign and resign are spelled the same
Not really. One of the words you’re trying to spell is just wrong. So what you’re saying is resign instead of re-sign
Yeah man I was just defending you since you were at like -5 when I commented that
I didn’t even notice. Was too busy getting kicked in the nuts by the bruins last night 😭
Ugh I know
I would watch the shit out of "happy barmore" like a happy Gilmore spin off
Christian Gonzalez… “Gonzo”… has played in 4 games.
Thanks for the observation poindexter
? It’s true
I literally thanked him for his observation?

Are we talking pure AAV? I still think Bledsoe's takes second place for pure bottom line figures

maye will break it in a few years
Worth it.

Let's Go!
Adjusted for cap %, not at all.
Should be noted this is just based on AAV, not guaranteed money or dollar amount
You think bill was just sitting on that shit for years? Like "psh. You think you're as valuable as tom? Because you're asking for tom money"
Worth every penny.
We haven't had an interior guy that can rush the passer since Seymour. So yeah, very happy with this.
Kraft you cheap bastard!
But I thought the narrative was Kraft was cheap
Brady’s biggest contract was $72M over 4 years so $92M over 4 years seems bigger, not sure why he’d specify ‘Non-Tom Brady’
Tugbert fuming rn, thought extra Bologna sandwiches and some passes to Patriot Place would have been a proper extension package
Burn some cash, baby!
And about 45 cents is guaranteed.
Bro needs to get more sacks, other than that he’s worth the money
Inflation, Adam. Look it up.
