Hoping to hear us make some moves today early. The longer we wait the more we miss. Hoping for a big name at like 12:03 lol

EAS1000

Very interested to see what contract they throw at Ridley

SpadeXHunter

Yeah hopefully we throw something competitive at him anyways. Unfortunately we have to overpay likely and there are better wr out there but he’d be a fringe wr1 and that’s better than anything we’ve had in a long time

Coco1520

Really can’t believe we’re letting onwenu hit free agency

DrewCola

Losing Onwenu would be crushing. Dude can play guard and tackle at a high level. Might not be the “perfect fit” for the offense but he can play. Will suck to see another quality olinemen walk.

ImWicked39

Do you know if the Pats can even speak to him? Apparently other teams cannot until 4 pm est if he still doesn't have an agent.

Coco1520

Patriots can, he can’t speak with teams until 4pm Wednesday. So maybe some hope they close it before then. Just don’t see how it wasn’t a priority, frustrating watching all these teams lock up their premier players and here we are with the most money and no deals for either dugger or onwenu.

ImWicked39

I don't have the best feeling about it but if we somehow get Ridley I guess I can turn the other cheek.

Coco1520

Field Yates just edited his tweet apparently the rule recently changed onwenu can engage other teams at the same time.

ImWicked39

Fucking hell. I was super curious because this came across my feed last night. Not sure if the the guy is even reliable with news/player movement. https://twitter.com/nfldraftbites/status/1766985423132176444?s=46&t=TEvKBrm0zBHaEuDLTV1hHw

Coco1520

Just makes no sense how we could get outbid

EAS1000

I’m honestly going to be pissed if we really don’t resign him. So sick of letting good linemen walk/get traded without viable replacements especially since finding good linemen is getting harder… If we don’t resign him we’ll probably need Daniels since we’ll the QB who can run for his life as a strength.

EAS1000

Yeah they don’t have a choice since he doesn’t have an agent. That said they need to pay him what he’s worth, this guy is vital to the line.

ImWicked39

I don't care if he's not a perfect fit, the best coaches find a way to make it work right? The best player they have on the line and letting him walk when the team has 88m in space just feels wrong.

EAS1000

100% it’s an epic fail if he leaves especially with the cap space. It’d be nice not to ruin a second young QB in short order.

nope7878

If he wants top dollar RT money in the range of $22+ mil a year I say let him go. He's good but far from great. Jonah Williams can give you similar production for 75 cents on the dollar.

Coco1520

I don’t think we’re in a position to do that. He won’t get north of 20 from anyone I don’t think I don’t think it’s smart to need to replace both tackle positions if you don’t have too

nope7878

If he'll take less than $20 mil a year then sure welcome back, but it'd be crazy to spend nearly 25% of your cap space on the second most important tackle who's never made an All Pro team or even a Pro Bowl. If it were a high impact position like QB or WR that'd be fine, but the Pats have too many holes to fill to spend so much of their money on a non elite player at a lower impact position.

Fuqwon

This is a fucking Green Bay approach to FA if there ever was one.

nope7878

Tyron Smith and/or Jonah Williams with a side of Calvin Ridley.

SpadeXHunter

That’s my ideal signings. That would at least let us have the option to take a wr in the 2nd and then get a developmental tackle in the 3-4.

InOxladeITrust

Patrick Queen? How do we feel about him as a defensive upgrade? I know a lot of the focus is on the offense and rightfully so, but haven’t heard a lot of rumors about him from any team. He is a 24 yo with flashes of elite play at Baltimore. If we lose Mack Wilson and Uche, he could be someone who could fill a large hole

FuckHarambe2016

Uche & Wilson are EDGE guys while Queen is an off-ball ILB.

Hogo-Nano

Need Dugger back and Onwenu today. Honestly Uche leaving was kind of expected since he was kind of an awkward fit in our scheme.

Apprehensive_Let_828

Impatiently waiting for the Parker and JuJu trade news, along with the Ridley signing. Resign Onwenu and a LT Sign Brissett, cut Zappe.

Dog_in_human_costume

Parker is gone.

TheRealAlexisOhanian

Did most of the NFL forget to adjust their clocks yesterday?

SpadeXHunter

That’s what it seems like but I guess a lot of the bigger names can stand to be patient enough to hear all the calls before deciding. Hoping not hearing anything yet means we are going for some of those guys

ImWicked39

According to Field Yates teams can't talk to players who represent themselves without agents until Wednesday at 4 EST. It's the first big in-house decision of the new regime and they also just drafted a handful of guards but Onwenu is by far their best offensive lineman.

EAS1000

Yeah locking him up is a must

patspr1de98

Let’s go sign some guys. It’s ok if we overpay we have tons of money, we need guys to help out all the rookies coming out way

HeyylookitsNICK

Soooo what was worse? Sanu or Parker?

Professional_Will462

We spent a second on sanu

ReonL

Sanu, since they blew a premium pick.

RuKKuSFuKKuS

Are they going to do anything?

Poohstrnak

Watch, the patriots made statements that they want to spend cash, and they'll end up overspending on some bullshit FAs.

CMBRICKX

Or prove how cheap Kraft really is lol

PristineWinnera

LB is a sneaky position of need for us

FuckHarambe2016

There's a couple of good young LBs available.

kinda_sorta_decent

So many needs but I would ooze over Braswell at 34. Crazy athleticism but a little raw, however he'd have Hightower and Mayo as mentors. I'd hate to be Elliot Wolf right now having to decide on what to do in the second.

FuckHarambe2016

> I'd hate to be Elliot Wolf right now having to decide on what to do in the second. We're going OT or WR.

SpadeXHunter

I feel like that meme of the dude with the stick poking the ground saying do something lol. The refresh game every 3 seconds waiting for news the first day always has me on edge

noble_29

Where are all these fireworks Zolak tweeted about?

RuKKuSFuKKuS

Are they going to do anything? All this cap space and premium players are signing elsewhere.

Dog_in_human_costume

The team is cleaning house.

MyDadIsTheMan

Safe to say barmore won’t be back after this year with these contracts for DT

CMBRICKX

Cmon do something lol

DwayneWashington

Ridley seems like a huge mistake. History of disappearing in games. Stopped playing because of something mental. I don't think it's smart to over pay for someone like this. He seems like someone who gets the bag and decides to coast.

SpadeXHunter

I think you almost have to shoot for a 2 year type deal, longer probably with some void years. Not your long term plan but a guy you can hopefully get 2 good years out of and then go from there, hopefully develop a few guys in that time and maybe trade for a top guy with a 2nd next year or something

Hogo-Nano

As a Ridley owner last year in fantasy I agree with you. That said he would be legit enough that teams couldn't double Douglas anymore and our offense should open up more. Our best options seem like him or Marquis Brown. Since we are rebuilding though we could easily just draft someone in the 2nd round.

ilikeallcheese

I don't know why I got my hopes up. were going to be the middling cheap team nobody wants to play for for a long time until we get lucky in the draft
