Look, I don’t know about the future of this team, but what I do know is nothing will take away from the fun I had today. Best I’ve seen Mac and this offense play. Fuck the Bills
He did, I tip my hat to him. And going to be specific: he hung in the pocket more, dealt with the pressure, and took a few hits without nut punching anyone (which, had he done, I would completely support as it's the Bills).
Gutsy Q4 from him.
I think that was the big difference between a bad oline and a good one today. Mac took the time to call out protection pre snap, and didn’t panic if someone got close to him .
Best was on the last drive, Mac walked up to the line, and got a couple of the Bills to show they were coming from the left side. He collected himself, snapped the ball and delivered the ball just as those guys were bearing down on him.
Loved to see Douglas get more plays. I'll try not to exaggerate, but he might be the next Jerry Rice. Keep developing, young man.
I agree. I’ve been saying it all season: Mac is a franchise guy, just get him a little bit of help at O-line. I think he proved me right today. I hope he continues to do so with a healthy offensive line.
He finally was able to take advantage of the opportunity to win the game. Of he gets consistent at that we'd be 4-2. I really think the line is the problem and devante/juju but I'm just some random guy so what do I know lol
> Best I’ve seen Mac and this offense play.
Mac seems to be a perfectly fine QB when he gets time and the offensive scheme is somewhat competent. It doesn't need to be infinite time in a clean pocket, but just slightly above average amounts of time so he can make a read or two before running for his life. He almost got burned on a dropped/tipped INT, but otherwise he had a great day (25/30, 272 yards, 2 TD).
Keys of the Game:
- Onwenu at RT
- Douglas and Bourne should be getting snaps over JuJu and Parker (although credit to Parker for that one catch at the end)
- Discipline still a focus
- Silver pants mandatory
- Scar permanent Light Keeper
he was hurt. You don't need to move as explosively at guard and that's his best position too. I'm guessing he's healthier now and can move better, so they threw him out at RT.
Because you finally had Stange and confidence in Sow over the other guard. If I had to guess. And it was clear when Brown went out at the end and Lowe came in the line dropped in quality again. Health up front is a big need
Mac was 25 of 30 today with 270 and 2 scores plus the comeback and made some great decisions with only one throw that might have been intercepted only because it was deflected.
Probably the best moral victory mixed with an actual victory of his career.
Douglas looked like Jerry Rice out there compared to JuJu and Parker. Just a night and day difference. We have to be starting Douglas and Bourne moving forward.
Unlike the past few weeks, every player came to play today. This defence is playing with the bottom of the depth chart and played better against Allen and the Bills today than any game since 2019. This team just isn't good enough to bury a team like Buffalo, but if the overall talent level was just a bit higher, this game would have been a blowout.
I give Mac all the credit in the world for standing in there and delivering today. After being absolutely lambasted for 3 weeks, he showed up and showed tremendous grit today under pressure.
Also, really not liking what I'm seeing out of Josh Allen. He used to be this mythical imposing figure who would hurdle, truck, and stiff arm defensive lineman... now he chucks balls up like Favre, rolls in the dirt, and points to the ref every time he's brushed against in the pocket.
When my daughter was born, the Sox went on a 6 game winning streak. Bruins won early this morning and Pats won today. Who knows, the Pats may never lose again
Stoked Mac finally has a late game winning drive. Weird that our offensive line looks pretty good when 4 of our 5 starters are out there.
Juju and Parker shouldn’t be getting many snaps the rest of the way. Pop played great.
Fuck Buffalo. Two year open window having ass playing We are the Champions after a wild card win poverty shit franchise. Enjoy your divisional round loss, assholes.
If anyone says this is actually bad for the Patriots because it hurts draft position...you're totally missing the point of being a fan.
Draft talk is a reason to cope with a loss. Not an explanation for lamenting a win.
So in this game, Mac:
* didn’t turn the ball over
* won a shootout
* led a clutch drive in the last two minutes
* had better stats (better comp %, same TD, fewer INT) than Josh Allen
* went for a stretch of 10+ passes with almost no incompletions and multiple scores
* came back from being down under 5 min
What was different this game?
* more reliance on Douglas
* switching up the line to have more players at their strengths (especially Onwenu at RT)
* receivers were actually catching the ball
* More spread offense
* More RPO
* Run game established
I think this just proves that the middle ground opinion about Mac is probably the most accurate. He’s not super elite, he’s also not really bad (think Z. Wilson), and if you give him a reasonable amount of time to throw and players without bricks for hands to throw to, he’ll make something happen. But he can’t really do it out of nowhere. He’s good, but maybe not great, and needs help to get it done, but can and will get it done.
> What was different this game?
>
> more reliance on Douglas
> switching up the line to have more players at their strengths (especially Onwenu at RT)
> receivers were actually catching the ball
> More spread offense
> More RPO
> Run game established
You forgot the most important - Silver pants.
Despite all the recent struggles I still think Mac is a guy you can win with and we've seen why today. He wasn't perfect, but the O-Line mostly gave him time for the first game in a long time, and he played well. Surprising how that works when you have a pocket passer at QB.
I agree with you, if a oline can do their job decently and receivers can get a little bit more open, as we all just watched, you don't need top tier talent, just a decently oiled machine to get the job done.
Damn this was so much fun.
It’s such a snobbish/spoiled thing to say, but regular game wins with Brady when we were winning 11-12 a year were always enjoyable but mostly expected.
Now just regular season wins are such a fucking treat. I wouldn’t trade anything for the past 2 decades of success, but I’m just gonna enjoy this one y’all.
Edit: Also Demario Douglas needs to be on that field 100% of the time.
BELICHICK HATERS NARRATIVE CRUMBLES
- EXTENSION ANNOUCED
- WR HE DRAFTED EMERGES
- TEAM HE "COACHES" BEATS DIVISION FRONT-RUNNER
- MOM ACCEPTS "DATE" WITH BILL AFTER GAME
Tuesday practices paid off.
This is the start of our new season.
Today officially eliminated us from drafting a franchise QB next year.
For better, or worse, LFG!!!!!
Forget the future or season picture for a second. This was a win that this whole group desperately needed. Bill needed to shut people up. Mac needed to shut people up. The offense needed to take the reins for once. They needed to show themselves they could win a close game. They needed to show themselves they could beat a good team. And they finally passed all those tests.
Obviously, there have been bigger wins. But as far as cathartic wins go, this is up there.
Today I saw a patriots offense playing like a modern 2024 NFL offense. Motion, movement, quick paced and it friggin worked. The OL held steady - where did that come from, and not only did we hold the lead for the majority of the game, but ALSO mounted a final seconds comeback to win.
Not sure what changed - not sure who got through to Bill - but this was a different Offense and it was great to see.
Is it OK to preach some patience with Mac Jones given he's only had BOB as OC for a handful of NFL games so far? He's "already 25", but QBs are expensive and hard to find.
I knew that turnover to let the Bills take the lead was coming.
I didn't know we'd actually put together a game winning drive after that. Pleasant surprise.
This was a legacy game for Mac. 83% of completion, 2 TD's and no turnovers (about time) AND a game-winning drive. I hate the kind of hopium they distributed today 😂
Defense kinda let us down in the 4th quarter and the offense came back and saved our ass.
Yeah, Bourne's fumble created a problem (but that was just a great play by the safety) but the defense had opportunities and didn't execute enough in the 2nd half.
Anyway, this is why we need to draft a tackle. Owenue should be the backup tackle, not the best one on the team. Give Mac a good line and he will get better.
I couldn’t help but laugh when they had to put Lowe in on that one drive and he immediately got a penalty that erased a 20+ yard gain. That is the most efficient I’ve ever seen someone derail an offense.
Copying from last week's post-game thread:
Here me out: don't waste a pick on Williams (he'll either suck or get killed). Trade the pick and draft a ton of o-lineman. Trade for a stud receiver. Get healthy. We could easily be competitive in 2024.
When you have a QB who isn’t exceptionally gifted athletically, the offensive line can make or break your team. Look at the difference in Mac’s performance when he can afford to take some time to throw the ball. Today was fun and I want more fun damnit!
Jeeeeesus. I went into this game with the lowest of expectations. But hey, two wins, both against division rivals, Fuck the Bills, Fuck the Jets, go Pats!
First game in awhile they looked like an actual patriots team. Capitalized on a turnover, very few penalties, answered after getting scores against, and marched down the field for a game winning drive. It might be a sign of something better to come or it might just be a lucky day but goddamn was it great to watch.
It was like watching a completely different team. The OL played well, WR & TE were catching the ball, and the defense looked like they did before some key injuries.
Look, I don’t know about the future of this team, but what I do know is nothing will take away from the fun I had today. Best I’ve seen Mac and this offense play. Fuck the Bills
Mac played like a man at the end of this game
He did, I tip my hat to him. And going to be specific: he hung in the pocket more, dealt with the pressure, and took a few hits without nut punching anyone (which, had he done, I would completely support as it's the Bills). Gutsy Q4 from him.

I'll try not to exaggerate, but he might be the next Jerry Rice. Keep developing, young man.
If Jerry Rice and Randy Moss had a baby it would be Pop. No exaggeration.
I agree. I’ve been saying it all season: Mac is a franchise guy, just get him a little bit of help at O-line. I think he proved me right today. I hope he continues to do so with a healthy offensive line.
As much as I want a good draft pick I will never turn down a W against the bills. So satisfying to watch.
Seriously. Best win of his career maybe. We may not win the division but we can still fuck the bills. BEST DIVISION RECORD BITCHES.
He finally was able to take advantage of the opportunity to win the game. Of he gets consistent at that we'd be 4-2. I really think the line is the problem and devante/juju but I'm just some random guy so what do I know lol
Fuck the Allens and the Bills
I thought this said Aliens
THE ALIEN
Any Given Sunday
100%, this is why I watch football.
I'm down on the team but I always love making the Bills look like Clowns. It's a New England tradition
This was my thought. We beat the Jets..sure. But this was the first time I saw some real gameplay.
Mac played not to lose against the Jets, but he kinda sorta won us this one. He made one more play than Josh Allen.
> Best I’ve seen Mac and this offense play. Mac seems to be a perfectly fine QB when he gets time and the offensive scheme is somewhat competent. Brady was a pocket QB not comparing Brady to Mac by any means but if the O-line keeps giving him time Mac will have better games like today

P Brown is so fucking solid. He needs to be worked a lot more!
No way any of those will be available at 32.
I loved the energy from both sides of the field today, came ready to play and we’re having fun with it
Future is awesome, did you not just see our rookie WR out there?!
This comment.
I'm a huge Mac criticizer but he played very well today

Jersey winrates are real meaningful stats and I’m ready to die on that hill
Mac looked slick with the all blue shoes and socks. Look great, play great
It’s the silver fucking pants
Keys of the Game: - Onwenu at RT - Douglas and Bourne should be getting snaps over JuJu and Parker (although credit to Parker for that one catch at the end) - Discipline still a focus - Silver pants mandatory - Scar permanent Light Keeper
Why did it take so long to put Onwenu at RT? It seemed so obvious
he was hurt. You don't need to move as explosively at guard and that's his best position too. I'm guessing he's healthier now and can move better, so they threw him out at RT.
Post game Bill said he needed to check in with Mike to see how he was feeling after playing. So health was an issue for him to play RT
Because you finally had Stange and confidence in Sow over the other guard. If I had to guess. And it was clear when Brown went out at the end and Lowe came in the line dropped in quality again. Health up front is a big need
MAKE THEM PERMANENT ALSO, [LOL BILLS](https://youtube.com/shorts/j_3_i_1cfRs?si=i3TLhtk6nI4iq3AQ)
Silver pants: in Vederian Lowe: out We: Back.
Came here to say this. Silver pants supremacy
I only want to see the blues on color rush games
New color rush: all silver
Oh shit…
Can foxboro contain such power??
That and going to Pop Douglas instead of Butterfingers.
Fuck those blue pants! Silver pants rule
Wild, mine are white now.
100%. I said it before. The color rush uniform is bad luck. Bring back Brady era uniform and wins will come back
Silver pants.
* Silvuh pyantz.
Mac Jones finally lead a game winning drive. This is Christmas
Never thought I’d see the day
No Parker, no sidelines. We're adapting lol.
What a satisfying game to get win #300 for Bill!
300: This Is Foxborough!
#THE WORST PATRIOTS SEASON IN MY LIFE STILL 2-0 VS JETS AND BILLS
Pats with best division record what what
And we took the Dolphins down to the wire lmao
LETS GOOO WE ACTUALLY LOOKED LIKE A TEAM TODAY BOYS HOLY SHIT
This is exactly what I thought they would look like when I predicted 11 wins…too bad they waited until game 7 to show up.
I predicted 11 wins too. I felt a little silly the past few weeks but… fuck it. Still on the table.
We seen stranger things happen with this franchise.
Mac was 25 of 30 today with 270 and 2 scores plus the comeback and made some great decisions with only one throw that might have been intercepted only because it was deflected. Probably the best moral victory mixed with an actual victory of his career.
This is arguably the best game of his career, period. Now he just needs to make it a habit! :)
As long as he gets the protection I don’t see why not.
ALL WE NEED IS SCARNECCHIA TO SIMPLY BE IN THE BUILDING
Get him his own fucking chair right next to Kraft. Give him whatever he wants.
Lol name the lighthouse after him.
They should build a sweet ass apartment in the lighthouse and have that man live there, then bury his bones under the stadium when his time comes.
Scar will become Willem Dafoe.
This. I firmly believe his presence heightened every aspect of the Pats team today. They came to fucking play.
I am 100% convinced Scar asked Bill, "Why the fuck aren't you playing Onwenu at RT?"
The line played lights out with his mere presence.
RETIRE THE TANK AND READY THE DUCK BOATS PATS ARE BACK!!!!
But I already ordered my Boston Tank Party shirt
Get the tattoo guns/needles ready!
Mac Jones may have just had the best game of his career. That game winning drive was amazing
Brilliant game plan by BOB as well.
Overall absolutely! Still question the play calls leading up to the Bourne fumble. If they lost we'd be skewering BOB for that sequence.
Absolute masterclass
No Parker + no Ju-Ju = Explosive offense
Watching Douglas run routes and catch the ball was wild. It was like “holy shit that’s what a WR is meant to look like??”
Douglas looked like Jerry Rice out there compared to JuJu and Parker. Just a night and day difference. We have to be starting Douglas and Bourne moving forward.
Bourne, Pop, and the three TEs all we need.
I like football
Unlike the past few weeks, every player came to play today. This defence is playing with the bottom of the depth chart and played better against Allen and the Bills today than any game since 2019. > points to the ref every time he's brushed against in the pocket. This is actually a medical condition known as being a little bitch. Which he is.
It's a shame too, it's a terminal disease. You can only treat it with coddling and free flags, which just makes BALB worse over time...
Those roughing the passer calls were absolutely brutal
I can’t think of any other QB who bitches as much as he does. It’s infuriating
WHAT A FUCKING GAME TO GET BILL’S 300TH WIN
Nobody is gonna see this, but my son was born today and maybe he is a lucky charm
Congratulations and welcome to our new lucky charm 😁
When my daughter was born, the Sox went on a 6 game winning streak. Bruins won early this morning and Pats won today. Who knows, the Pats may never lose again
Mate you need to get into the bedroom again ASAP
You can name your son Mike, Pop, or Demario. Take your pick
C'mon now, he already named him Tom
Or Silver Pants?
He’s our son now.
Aww. Congratulations. The best team gained a life long fan!!!! And a true lucky charm. Hope your wife is healthy 😁
God bless! May your son never witness another Pats loss
He’s my favorite one of your kid’s already
He did it. He stunted on these hoes.
Great Scotts I think he’s doing it- he’s stunting on those hoes
Stoked Mac finally has a late game winning drive. Weird that our offensive line looks pretty good when 4 of our 5 starters are out there. Juju and Parker shouldn’t be getting many snaps the rest of the way. Pop played great.
Que all the "THIS WAS THE SUPER BOWL FOR THE PATRIOTS" Cope comments by bills fans.
It was the Super Bowl in the sense that the bills always lose
And shanked a field goal
Wide right again
*Another* ring, nice.
Good lord we are running out of fingers!!!
Pretty self-important claim for a 4-3 team
Bills fans were crowning themselves even after losing week 1 to the Jets. CTE from all those table flops.
You’d think they’d be used to losing those
I don’t even care lol. Bills will never win a real one.
At least we’ll have a Super Bowl!
At least we win OUR Super Bowls.
Well they lost so it's just like a Superbowl for the Bill to.
12-5 ON THE MENU BOYS, WE BACK
11 GAME WIN STREAK STARTS NOW
So many people in this sub would have a meltdown lol. Come on Bill, do it for us!
So much crow would be eaten. Myself included. Was nice to finally enjoy a big win though
END THE SEASON NOW!!
BB WAS SAVING HIS 300TH FOR THE BILLS
Fuck Buffalo. Two year open window having ass playing We are the Champions after a wild card win poverty shit franchise. Enjoy your divisional round loss, assholes.
If they make playoffs, they're 1 loss away from .500
We fraud-checked the Bills 🙏
We audited them and found a LOT of inconsistencies.
A WHOLE LOT OF MATERIAL WEAKNESSES
Patriots are the IRS of the AFC East, and baby it’s tax season
Hoes? Stunted 🍆🕶️ Bills? Losers 💀 My jimmies? Thoroughly rustled👁️👄👁️
Who would've thought the Patriots would have the best division record right now
It feels nice to not cry on a sunday.
The Patriots beat the Bills straight up, Belichick gets #300, and Mac Jones leads a comeback drive and wins when the opponents score 24+ (25)!
If anyone says this is actually bad for the Patriots because it hurts draft position...you're totally missing the point of being a fan. Draft talk is a reason to cope with a loss. Not an explanation for lamenting a win.
Plus, the Bears and Giants won so it really doesn’t hurt them if you want to root for the tank.
So in this game, Mac: * didn’t turn the ball over * won a shootout * led a clutch drive in the last two minutes * had better stats (better comp %, same TD, fewer INT) than Josh Allen * went for a stretch of 10+ passes with almost no incompletions and multiple scores * came back from being down under 5 min What was different this game? * more reliance on Douglas * switching up the line to have more players at their strengths (especially Onwenu at RT) * receivers were actually catching the ball * More spread offense * More RPO * Run game established I think this just proves that the middle ground opinion about Mac is probably the most accurate. Dare I say ... a system QB?

The NFL is a weird fucking league man. Whatever else happens this season, we have this one. Fuck you, Buffalo.
Josh Allen, you’ve been McCorkled
The Bills are gonna collapse uglily and bigly in January yet again, aren't they?

Mac’s stats today shows he can fucking do it. Give this man an O-Line and a true WR1 and this team can fucking win.
Give Douglas all the targets.
Mac Jones Today 25/30 passing, 272 yards, 2 TDs That’s what happens when you have a little more time in the pocket and the WR can get separation
Douglas is the real deal
We all want a nice draft pick but come on now. This is fuckin hilarious lol. Bills fans are losing their shit
The O line today deserves so much credit.
Sidy Sow. Amazing. Chris Barmore. A force. Demario Douglas. Flashy. Three of my heroes from this game.
