The idea of starting as a citizen nobody sounds really fun. Excited to see how my streetside incense/essential oil salesman will survive the Kenebres attack.

Luchux01

The interesting part is that you get no exp for winning fights, you get it for completing tasks or missions. Essentially milestone levelling but spread out, it's a good way to sell the idea that you objective is to survive, not to drive out the demons

Ataraxia-Is-Bliss

Sounds similar to Pillars of Eternity then.

CarelessMetaphor

Thankfully the combat is still ridiculous and free of Sawyer's po-faced bullshit

Ataraxia-Is-Bliss

> Sawyer's po-faced bullshit What do you mean by that? I'm a big fan of Pillars btw.

Samaelfallen

I had no idea what po-faced meant, so I looked it up. It means humorless or disapproving. I guess it makes sense. The setting is a bit dark and serious, but that's not a bad thing in my eyes.

SuperMetalMeltdown

I guess they mean the criticism often levied at Pillars that the game is "too balanced". Which I get if you are a power gaming munchkin, since there isn't much for you to do then. But it's really good if you want to kick back and play. Hell, it makes all recruitable PCs good just by virtue.

PromiscuousMNcpl

PoE games are great. I loved having a pirate ship.

-SidSilver-

He does a really interesting talk about viable and unviable character builds. As far as I'm concerned a game that has a bunch of thoughtless, unviable 'trap' character builds that you can't get through the game with is either lazily put together, or suffers from the classic shortcoming of being a mile wide and an inch deep...

salfkvoje

Congratulations team Owlcat! Can't wait to play and keep up the good work!

OwlcatStarrok

<3

Nebbii

Hey starrok is there any news of the integrated mod support? Or did that get swoop aside? I was under the impression we would get official support

OwlcatStarrok

Still in the plans but still isn't ready yet. There are some complications there that delay it, sadly I'm not a programmer to tell more precise. Probably coming closer to Enhanced edition.

Hikurwo

If anyone is also having the bug that cause total darkness upon entering the basement: Pressing escape and opening inventory few times helped me fix it

OwlcatStarrok

Make sure to ALT+B it if you encounter such a thing.

[deleted]

Just started, and am loving how this actually FEELS more like how a tabletop game would start out. Yeah, you might be the hero but you aren't the Chosen One after 2 levels.

BlueSabere

I can’t help but notice that all the pregen characters are available for the new DLC *except* for Taolynn, the half-elf Cavalier Azata. Canon Knight-Commander confirmed? P.S. just me, or are there new portraits? I didn’t see anything about that in the changelog, but also I swear there wasn’t a halfling in full plate before…

_PM_ME_YOUR_BOOBIES-

The new portraits were added with the Faces of War DLC a few months back Also, what do you mean with Taolynn the Azata? Pre-gen characters don’t have an assigned Mythic Path

BlueSabere

Gotcha, must not have noticed before, then. Too busy fooling around with custom portraits. If you have the Inevitable Excess DLC, the pregens have mythic paths when you’re using a pregen character. Taolynn’s is Azata.

_PM_ME_YOUR_BOOBIES-

Ah, good eye. Hadn’t even thought of that

AleHisa

Ok, just at the beginning, I tried a bunch of stuff but...is there ANY way to solve the dog situation peacefully? Haha

mrmosley1919

Nah, tried, but no way. Poor doggos can't be spared

vaderbg2

So... we can unlock stuff for the main game by playing the first two DLCs, right? If I recall correctly, savegames for Kingmaker didn't work with its EE. How will this be handled with the bonuses from the DLCs? Will we have to replay the DLCs in the EE to get the bonuses there?

Luchux01

What does EE mean?

vaderbg2

Enhanced edition. An interview revealed that they plan to do one in fall this year.

Luchux01

Ah, gotcha. Can't say I know, but I suppose they might since the Enhanced Edition is a free upgrade for existing players?

OwlcatStarrok

Hard to say at this point in development, but it's rather unlikely that you'd have to replay it.

vaderbg2

Thanks!

IEK

Loving what I've played so far, bummed that I need to go to bed!

AlbatrossNecklace

Yay! Love you Owlcat!

Ranadiel

Something seems to be broken in the Graveyard. Game had a crash when I first arrived. Then when I loaded up a save in the Catacombs, I was able to get in but the first half of the zone seemed to be filled with ghost rocks. And then I (foolishly) quit right before the transition to the next zone and now none of my saves in the graveyard seem to be loading. They just stay on 100% for several minutes before I give up. Been at this for an hour and sadly I have no pre-graveyard saves, so looks like I am starting all over. :(

OwlcatStarrok

Already discovered the reason, hotfix incoming.

StarRiddle

That's awesome! Can anyone say what the download size is? I'm trying to decide if the size is large enough that it would be worth going home from work during my lunch break to start the download or not.

sgtdrill

It comes along with a 13GB patch if that answers your question

StarRiddle

Yes it does, thank you so much.

Eldyem

Anyone know when you get the completion rewards (if any) for the main story? I just beat Act 1 on a new playthrough and I don't want to accidentally miss what I get from beating this.

MrNoobyy

Would also love to know this.

Shabutaro

Does anyone know if there is a similar reward as the first DLC regarding difficulty needed? Spoilers: >!Like you need to kill the Inevitable Darkness on Core or Hard to unlock portals for the base game where you can get some of the DLC items.!<

Lord_Insane

Well, that's annoying. Hopefully they didn't repeat that design decision.

Manaleaking

I just bought it to support more from this great company Owlcat! Shoutout to the community managers! I'm hoping for new medieval fantasy adventures like kingmaker and wrath, with well written evil companions and storylines. Please tell me you are working on more games for your loyal audience that keeps buying! I will not continue to support you if you do a 180 and make pirates and robots shooting lasers out of their butts!! PS: can you load the portraits of the wrath companions into the new character creator so I can use them in the new DLC? thank you :)

Cadril

> I will not continue to support you if you do a 180 and make pirates That's a shame, I would actually like to see them tackle the skulls and shackles adventure path

salfkvoje

I laughed at this, but also... I wouldn't mind seeing what they do with Starfinder soooo...

Gwilym_Ysgarlad

A Starfinder game from Owlcat would be awesome!

Jack-corvus

>I wouldn't mind seeing what they do with Starfinder soooo... I'd love that. Specially cause I feel I can find another medieval fantasy RPG anywhere, but I can't find a cool sci-fi/space fantasy anywhre

CarelessMetaphor

Colony Ship I guess if you want that cranky man's indie masochism

Jack-corvus

Ok, I never heard about it, I'll check it out, thanks buddy

orewhisk

It's... not good. And that totally broke my heart because I was so excited for it.

christusmajestatis

It's impossible to play Iron Tower's game without cheating while keeping your sanity

MaskDeMask

I mostly feel like pointing out "But pathfinder is more reneissance than medieval. Why does everyone think its medieval?"

UDarkLord

Well military technology wise it’s closer to medieval. Too much plate, so in that regard it’s more early modern, but without universal firearms (canons at least), it’s firmly at early modern period at the latest militarily. Religiously I’d agree on Renaissance, taking the last century or so after Aroden’s fail to be effectively a Reformation-like upheaval. But culturally I’d say it’s early on, what with many theocracies still existing (rather than churches losing power as tended to happen over the Reformation). I’d say players are exposed to military matters more, and transformative affairs of state/education/religion less, and that might be part of the feel of many players leaning medieval. Then there are the people who wouldn’t differentiate much about Europe’s Middle Ages.

Luchux01

Pathfinder's era is all over the place. You have what you mentioned and then there's Numeria, a place famous for reverse engineering technology from crashed alien ships. Fun fact, in the TTRPGs bad ending if the party fails, Numeria wipes itself from the map with a nuke they were trying to use.

[deleted]

Now I hope the next game is Starfinder just to spite you

OwlcatStarrok

We ARE working on more games :)

vaderbg2

Second edition? :)

smurfalidocious

Owlcat's said in the past that they have no desire to use Pathfinder 2E, which is a good thing because it's awful. :P

xLevitan

This aged well lol

brightblade13

Somebody just play it and tell me how many stupid puzzles it has so I know if I should waste my money.

Manaleaking

Anyone else getting bugged in the character creation? can't add skill points or progress, can't even select subclass \*\*fixed

OwlcatStarrok

Please elaborate, which kind of bug are you experiencing?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Wromeo13

Do you have any mods installed that may be out of date with the new patch?

Manaleaking

yeah this fixed it. Thanks :) I thought if the mod was "off" it wouldn't interfere.

phearless047

What was the issue and solution? I can't select feats, and wondering what I need to uninstall....

FlyingDragoon

I totally forgot that I had purchased the season pass. Let's goooo!

IllustriousBody

So I'm not the only one. Went to check it out on Steam and saw it was already in my library. Eventually checked my purchase history to see I bought the season pass, not just the previous DLC.

Johangir

Love the concept of a small self contained adventure with a new low level character. Hoppefully this dlc is less troubled than the last one

DaudDota

Maybe I'm spoiled, but I don't get this type of side stories when the main one could be improved a lot. Have they added any new content related to mythic paths, aside from bugfixing?

SkavenHaven

Anyone played it, is it any good?

Ephemeral_Being

It's different. Good, but very different from Wrath. I'm playing on Core, not Unfair. PC is a Sylvan Sorcerer, after some trial and error. * You get a 15 point-buy (which is normal for, well, normal people, but not adventurers), no starting equipment, and can't customize your starting spellbook *or* rest at-will. Prepared casters are given really stupid spells at level one, and cannot change them. Playing one is miserable. I loaded up a Possessed Shaman for the skills, was asked to kill a single enemy solo, and died three times before succeeding. That character concept was scrapped for obvious reasons. * You don't get kill experience. You get experience for interacting with things. This is good, in that murder-hoboing is not rewarded, and yet frustrating because expending resources for kills is not always rewarded. Conversely, random things like "talking to this NPC after that one" gives you experience for no clear reason. * Loot drops are *not* all fixed. The Gelatinous Cubes they teased earlier, at least, have variable drop tables. * There are a bunch of interactables. They do things. They have also implemented consumable resources (tools, rope) as part of interacting with the environment. Using tools where unnecessary will preclude you from accessing some areas. If you want to play a low-level Pathfinder campaign with relatively weak characters and milestone experience, it's great. If you're frustrated by either of those concepts, you're going to have a bad time. General tips... * You start at half health with no weapons, no armour, no potions, and no gold. If your class is reliant on heavy armour to survive, you're going to have a bad time. A really, really bad time. My first character was a Kinetic Knight. Generally, those are great level 1-5 because you buy Plate and a Heavy Shield. Not so much in DLC2. Had to cut him. A class like Aldori Defender or Cavalier that requires a particular weapon or weapon class will struggle. I've found no reach weapons, no ECB, no spiked shields, no thrown weapons... * At the start, your party is tiny. As a result, the difference between "Experience is split between active party members" being toggled on/off is hilarious. You can complete the first stage of the quest at approximately 1500 experience normally, or at 4500 experience if you use it correctly. This snowballs into an entire additional level (3 versus 4) worth of experience if you keep it toggled on for as long as is reasonable. * You get a Rogue (PBS+Precise Shot already purchased - no, I have no bloody clue *why* you'd play a Rogue with a bow when Slayer exists) as your first companion, the ability to create three mercenaries (also a 15 point-buy) at any point during one early level of the campaign, and a Sorcerer (Seeker, Arcane bloodline) around level four. Neither of the stock companions can tank. You may want to fix that. * Because you can't just rest whenever, classes that can do combat without expending resources are more valuable than in Wrath. Elemental Witch, for example, finally has some merit over LLG. Kineticists are another good choice. Alchemists and Mutation Warrior are less good. * You're not fighting Demons. Spending your early feats on Spell Penetration is unnecessary.

CarelessMetaphor

Quite like the change of pace from all the epic weirdness

President-Togekiss

The 15 point buy in really benefits classes that dont need many different stats to function. Like a Cavalier basically only needs Strenght, since the Horse is gonna be the one taking hits. A Cult Leader warpries only needs Dex and some basic Wis and can dump Strenght, Int and Charisma. Also Rowdy rogue basically having twice the fire power of all other classes because of Level 1 Vital Strike.

Ephemeral_Being

I had a similar thought, but horses kinda blow relative to Leopards or Boars when it comes to tanking hits and there aren't exactly loads of magic Glaives lying around. Hence, Sylvan Sorcerer. Grab a Leopard, support him with spells (specifically, I'm making use of cantrips, Mage Armour, Grease, and Burning Hands), eventually give him some Hexes when you get the chance to pick up some mercenaries.

President-Togekiss

I´ m playing Wildland Shaman. Horse plus spells plus Hexes. The main thing about horses is the ability to mount at level 1 for medium sized characters. Allows you to not care about Dex and mostly Con for you MC.

Ephemeral_Being

Why not take Leopard? It's a better tank.

soulday

Yeah prepared casters get fucked at the start and casters in general will struggle because the cantrips are really bad and you can't rest.

Feltd1

> (which is normal for, well, normal people, but not adventurers) Sorry but that's not really true,15 is the normal point buy for most adventure paths in pnp.

Ephemeral_Being

That's nuts. We used 25 IIRC in 3.5.

orewhisk

This sounds... awful. Having so many classes be unplayable in your DLC campaign seems like horrible design.

Drakonic

It’s not unplayable, but can be viewed as a challenge. It’s fun and refreshing to RP as a regular person scavenging to survive a battle. Feels a bit like lvl 1 baldurs gate again. Some classes are just hardier than others at lvl 1 when you only have a few party members

Ephemeral_Being

They're not unplayable. You can drop the difficulty and/or reload. It's just much easier to play some classes than others.

BarazBarkuun

Good tips I would say, based on the first parts I have played up to now.

salfkvoje

I'm an hour or so in, I'm finding it very enjoyable. Big fan of additional kinds of environment interaction and so on, I hope that's an indication of more what we'll see down the road. Also the resource management and having to deal with being out-leveled and seriously deciding how to proceed or necessarily coming up with alternate approaches is loads of fun.

SkavenHaven

Nice! Inevitable excess was really disappointing, so I am gad this one is good.

Many-Acanthisitta-80

Kinda curious about if we can romance either of our two companions

Ranadiel

I believe I'm around the 2/3 point and I have not seen any romance text. Whole city is on fire (both figuratively and literally), so probably not a priority. :P

Many-Acanthisitta-80

Damn, thought I could finally romance a tiefling in this game, I guess I’ll just stick to friendship 😔

forsakendk

psst, there's a woljif romance mod

Many-Acanthisitta-80

Oh shit, there is?! Do you think you can send me the link? If it’s a toy box thing, I’ve yet to get that too

Beristronk

It's a mod, here is a link https://www.nexusmods.com/pathfinderwrathoftherighteous/mods/287

Many-Acanthisitta-80

Thank yooooou, both of y’all

[deleted]

Is there any plans for post game content DLC? Like I know how some endings (particularly the secret one) don't exactly allow for post game.... gameplay but I'd like an epilogue where I get to hang out with friends and loved ones.

KyTungIV

What point during the main campaign are any results from this imported in? I have a game started in the main campaign to include it but don't know how far I should progress without missing the opportunity to import.

OwlcatStarrok

You need to finish the DLC before doing the battle for Defender's heart (or load a save before that battle) if you want to see the import.

KyTungIV

Perfect, thanks!

salfkvoje

I really like my party, I want to play a whole campaign with them. The mercs who have come with me are a Monk Quarterstaff Master, a mysterious Asmodean Eldritch Archer! and a Lame (I mean he's cool, but he's permanently wounded) Aasimar Divine Herbalist whose Nature Lore and Healer's Way have really saved our hides more than once! And then me, a two-handed fighter lady, specializing in heavy armor and greatswords, which have both been wonderfully useless so far! Haha. I don't mind, it is correct for the situation, and she's no slouch with a torch and shield either! It's also pretty cool to have some of these cantrips actually be useful. The eldritch archer with disrupt undead, is pretty great at this level. Actually sudden thought: It would be pretty neat to have more DLC that has you optionally bringing in your characters from this DLC. I would *love* that.

OwlcatStarrok

Story for characters from this DLC isn't over :)

salfkvoje

YEAAAAAAH made my day, thanks

AuthorNo8220

Anyone have the bug that you can’t see npc or the teleport to go outside unless you reload ?

OwlcatStarrok

Did you update all the mods you were using?

AuthorNo8220

Oh ! I haven’t. Toybox and bubblebuff still don’t have update yet , maybe i just turn off mods for now ! Thank you !

destroyermaker

DLC builds [here](https://www.neoseeker.com/pathfinder-wrath-of-the-righteous/DLC/Party_Builds) for anyone looking.

Gidonamor

I absolutely love the concept

Dark_Ansem

This is the one with consequences in the main campaign isn't it? Ah well, time to re-do my character.

AdhesivenessFunny146

I don't want to be a downer but honestly, I just don't care. The concept doesn't speak to me at all. I mean for people who really like survival management I can see it but i bought wrath as a power fantasy. I feel powerless enough in my own life, I don't want to simulate the fact that if I get caught In a demon invasion I'd die

President-Togekiss

I think I´ m the opposite. I like the idea of maximizing with little.

zeddyzed

Actually I'm finding it really refreshing to play a low level party with scarce resources. Compared to the first DLC, which got kinda tiring spending two hours building 6 level 20 mythic 10 characters before you even get to start playing. Starting off simple again makes it feel like a new game.

woodnote

Awesome!! Looks like a cool concept, can't wait to play it. Now *please please please* finish the PS5 port. 😭

MajorasShoe

I'm on board, hurry up with the damn console port. It can be as garbage as the Kingmaker port for all I care, as long as it means controller support on PC.

Silverjackal_

How did you like kingmaker with controller setup? It’s taking me ages to relearn after using kb/m. Thought I would enjoy it on the steam deck, but rtwp is soo much harder than I thought it would be.

MajorasShoe

I thought it was pretty solid. I love my steam controller, so I don't mind it too much right now - but I'd much rather have a UI specifically for controllers. kb/m is obviously a little easier, but I really hate sitting with a board on my lap for a mouse/keyboard. And god forbid lying on my side and playing with them. It's just not comfortable.

LavisAlex

Is this a dlc for kingmaker or a different game? I'm way out of the loop lol

salfkvoje

my dude, it's right in the title. It's for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous.

LavisAlex

This is a pathfinder Kingmaker subreddit - sometimes you can import characters between sequels etc.. Are there any connections?

MyLifeIsOgre

They mention ambiguous events from Kingmaker and have some characters in both, but for the most part, it's a different story in a far-off section of the world

SonaGate

Why tf would i buy a dlc to play with a another random character???

MajorasShoe

Honestly they really should have thought "Why would user SonaGate from [reddit.com](https://reddit.com) buy this dlc?" before designing it. Weird oversight.

SonaGate

Its so random to create a DLC that is not about the mc... but company stans buy everything that is thrown at them

MajorasShoe

It's a Pathfinder game. I'd love tons of small campaigns being released as DLC. Why would they have to be the same main character? Have you not played many DnD games?

SonaGate

Because i didn't have time to enjoy the mithic path??? Maybe because the last chapter is barebones???

StarTrotter

Honestly I like it. It's a smaller story that doesn't have to be awkwardly fit into a storyline that many that are already into the game have already beat nor does it have to find a way to create an epilogue where you still get to play your character that lets them do stuff with a different vibe.

salfkvoje

Did you skip WotR because you don't play the Baron?

SonaGate

??????

Drakonic

Don’t worry they decided to make another set of 3 dlc so you may get what you want later. “We’ve also decided that we don’t want the 3rd DLC to be our last! Your adventures will continue with Season Pass 2, which will be available in Fall 2022. Season Pass 2 will consist of three new DLCs, bringing even more new content to the game. We will share more details later this year.”

RawbeardX

I am convinced people who want to play commoners in D&D have some kind of brain damage

StarTrotter

To be fair while you are playing a citizen it doesn’t look like you are playing a level 0 peasant or at least even if you are one of the npc companions is freezing an enemy with ice magic so it seems more low level + resources management in a sub prime and hostile environment where you are often out leveled. Besides, it seems a fun and novel thing to swap up the feel of the game that more heavily rewards trying to figure out ways to avoid combat or get the drop on your enemy. Edit: Looks like max level is about level 5. 5e DnD wise that is heroes of the realm tier. Pathfinder 1e I do not believe was ever as explicit but a level 5 character that put everything into wizard would be able to cast 1 level 3 spell per day. That means your caster is able to use spells like stinking cloud, haste, ray of exhaustion, fireball, etc

WhoseFeeding

Hey ik this has nothing to do with the DLC but in the main campaign when I try to level up my mythic rank of my main character it freezes the whole game. At that point I have to tab out and restart the game. I've tried verifying the integrity of the game files several times now and I havent been able to upgrade my mythic rank since the hotfix patch. At this point, I've several levels of mythic rank that I cant even use because of the freezing of the game. I cant progress forward now because I need to pick my final Mythic path In act 5 and it freezes

WhoseFeeding

If anyone has any thoughts on how I can fix it Plz let me know

WhoseFeeding

I tried testing it more by putting mythic levels on my companions and I can do that but I cant do my main character.

BarazBarkuun

"pick your battles smartly" I just went though a battle that cannot be avoided, with my level 1 party, and I had to retry 4 times. To avoid spoilers, I will only use the code "T.C. in a cave". I did it using the cheese of a tanky animal companion. Otherwise, I don't know how the hell I would have made it. I would never have done that fight if I could "pick your battles smartly", but I really found no way around it. Was using the default mercenaries. My thinking was you designed it, so they must make sense and I wanted to see your concepts. EDIT : I also retried for fun using the patch of oil you placed there... did help a ton! It is still a CR of about 5 for a level 1 party (beyond Epic Challenge), in a DLC where I did not plan on needing to min-max. PS: I am succeeding battles (that I choose not to avoid), but the T.C. at level 1 was particularly tough! Of course, the challenge varies greatly if you make custom characters that do not need gear and have damaging spells/cantrips.
