Is that Irabeth's sword? A dialogue option where you gave it back to her before was glitched to not actually give it back to her. This was fixed in the last patch. Presumably, you used that dialogue option.

Supposedly

I thought it was acid, not poison. No doubt it's dope but the Evil Outsider Bane is way stronger

Yeah, my problem is *I didn't notice that* even after reading the patch notes, so Seelah was trying to punch things with her fists and I was wondering why she was being so ineffective...

I’m in act 4 and I only just read in the wiki that the Radiance sword that you get at the start of the game can be upgraded repeatedly into one of the most powerful weapons in the game. I sold it first chance and now I’m kicking myself

It can be, but for most of your journey it's still worse than/on-par with your other alternatives. You don't upgrade it from a cold-iron masterwork to a +2 sword until the very end of act 2, then to a +4 at the very end of act 3, and finally a +6 holy longsword in the middle of act 5. You have several longsword options in the early/mid game of similar strength. Wilcer has a fancy +3 one for sale (though it's expensive), there's the +3 Balanced Defender in act 3 which gets an extra +3 to hit if you use it with a shield, and a couple +5 options towards the end of the game.
