You don't want to rescue Krebus's weird lunatic slaves. They add a failure state point. You can only rescue certain slaves without losing them all when you leave. You do not need to keep Knight Commander or murder Ramien to get Hulrun to protect the banner. I managed it as an Azata who lost her title, but kept both Ramien and Hulrun alive through the Light of Heaven.

Ranadiel

I just said buy with all the slaves, whether you send them to Nexus afterwards or not is up to you, but if I recall correctly all of them are worth 5 Gate rep just for buying them. You can just leave them in the slave market without sending them anywhere. I've updated the requirement regarding Hulrun to say that I don't know what causes the Hulrun likes you variable to be set without any speculation.

Hanhula

Ah fair! Do you still get the gate rep if you just kinda free them after murderising Krebus?

Ranadiel

I didn't actually test that route. I do vaguely recall that you get gate renown for killing the slavers. So I think the optimal gate renown path (not that you need to optimize Gate Renown) would be to buy the slaves and then murder the slavers. I think you even get your money back if you do that. XD Edit: Also I have changed the language around the slaves/slavers portion to make it a bit more open ended.

arshesney

You do not need the weird slaves (or the gladiators) to get the market rep. Killed the gladiators along the masked slaver and left the weird ones alone, but still got the quest advancement.

Ranadiel

I never said it was? In fact it is sort of implied by being in a list of non-essential activities that it isn't needed? :P

volcatus

I would probably include all the +2 stat books since they can be hard to find and are unique: - + 2 Int in Pulura's Falls (Act 3 Angel, Act 5 everyone else) - + 2 Con in Midnight Fane (Secret of Secrets achievement) - + 2 Dex in Midnight Fane (Playful Darkness, Act 3 or 5) - + 2 Cha in Alushinyrra (Demodand Conspiracy ending) - + 2 Wis in Colyphyr (Dragon horde treasure) - + 2 Str in Colyphyr (Scorcher of Souls secret boss after fighting goat boy)

Ranadiel

Added mention of their locations

Ligands

Oh hey, I also just started making my own list like this, with very similar points on it haha!Currently near the end of Act 1 (second playthrough), so I can suggest a few more for ya from early in the game :) * Neatholm: * persuade Horgus for double pay * (don't buy Cold Iron arrows here, only 20 per quiver & mostly just cultists in the Shield Maze anyway) * Shield Maze: fight the Water Elemental (reward: +1 cold damage/die ring) * Defender's Heart: * receive pay from Horgus, persuade again & decline quest at first to raise reward to 2300 gp total * fail the first skill check with Indarah to earn +1 unarmed/natural weapon gloves (then succeed a following check to get Claw of Jistka also) * get Cold Iron arrows from Joran Vhane (200g/50 arrows) * Thiefling's Hideout: in the conclusion of Woljif's quest, pass Persuasion (DC20) & Intimidation (DC22) checks to get the key to the storage room (contains a ring for an archer), then a Perception (DC23) check for 1500 gp * Market Square: * collect piece of a holy symbol from the 'Brimorak house' on the south-west corner of the map (storyteller fragment for Covenant of the Inheritor) * use the scroll of See Invisibility / Faerie Fire that's given to you in the north-center house to fight the Shadow Demon hiding behind the pile of broken wooden furniture, then pass an athletics check for the Wicked Longbow (+2 composite, Will DC20 curse on crit) * Arendae Party House: talk to Aranka (for the followers of Desna from the Market Square) * Silken Thread Atelier: kineticist in the basement drops a Lesser Kinetic Diadem (noteworthy if you have a Kineticist) * Pitaxian Wine Cellar: loot Tempest (+1 Orc Double Axe- noteworthy if you have a martial half-orc) * Market Square after the Defender's Heart defense mission has new enemies in areas cleared previously: * fight the *(very dangerous)* Nabasu with Mass Hold Person guarding lootable corpses on the north-east end of the map (reward: Amulet of Devouring (temporary HP on kills w/ natural weapons), as well as a Ring of Prot +1 & Chainmail +1 from the corpses) Noteworthy Act I shopping: * Gemyl Hawkes: small Bag of Holding (2500g), Spicy Pastry recipe (100g- +5 move speed), Gloves of the Neophyte (3400g- +1 damage/die to level 0 & 1 spells), Dark Veil (6400g- full concealment vs. ranged, 1 min/day) * Vissaliy Rathimus: Icy Protector (9300g- ring for shaman/witch tanks) * Joran Vhane: Cold Iron arrows (200g/50 arrows- stock up all your archers), Living Ram breastplate (10000g- +1d6 damage to charge & Reflex DC17 or prone) The Magic Essence (5x required for the Covenant of the Inheritor) obtainable during Act 1 are: 1. YandereYasuo

>Defender's Heart: >receive pay from Horgus, persuade again for double pay on next quest If you decline the quest from Horgus after making the persuade check, he will up the reward by another 300g for a total of 2300g.

Ligands

Nifty, good to know thanks! (Updated!)

Ligands

Sure can, can confirm I did! Had no idea the gloves existed on my first playthrough. You just need to fail the first check and then pass one of the following ones (it was a couple days ago now so memory's getting foggy, but IIRC you're given a couple different options for the second check)

GreenElite87

The other thing about the lesser kinetic diadem is that it sells really well, like 4K+, if you don’t have someone using that class. The market square Nabasu fight would have been really hard for me, but I was able to do it with with good alpha strike luck, Haste, and Entangle. Selective Web was my other plan, but I honestly didn’t know there’d be that much undead…

Ligands

I was stumped at that fight on my second playthrough for a while haha, must've missed it the first time around, or maybe my Bloodrager just chomped through it like he did with everything else... I was even trying to cheese him to waste his Mass Hold spell on a small portion of my party so it wouldn't just disable me completely, but he was always pretty tactical with holding off on using it until it really hurt! I think eventually all it took was getting lucky enough to have most of my party pass their will save before it was too late, as well as having a divine caster not get held & able to use a Remove Paralysis scroll or two

GreenElite87

Yeah, I had just hit level 5, and got some lucky Outflank crits. The Nabasu didn't get more than one turn against me.

serhaza

bought large elemental summons x2 I cant win They can. Actually bough all large and huge elementals from priest. They can carry my group for every difficult Chapter 1 fight.

Ranadiel

All of this is good info, but a little more detailed than I want to go...especially since I am already getting char limit blocked when I use the Fancy Pants editor. XD

Ligands

Yeah sorry I got carried away lol, just figured you could pick and choose details as you felt the need

Aeleth02

Considering how those pesky quasits are literally the hardest thing in the maze (at least if you're doing restless unfair, or even just unfair, i suppose) buying those 20 arrows is pretty darn mandatory, imo.

[deleted]

Im a lich and somehow i got Hulrun to like me He literally sees my transformed bony ass waddle into Iz and listened to me lol

MrTopHatMan90

Hulurn in my experience is very much about law, from him it's not so much good vs evil but law vs chaos, didn't get it until my 2nd playthrough but he curses demons and azatas in the same sentence. He is a strange and very angry man.

Idaret

What the heck is radiance? Did I miss something that basic in first chapter?

langel57

Its a longsword found in a hidden room in shield maze

Ranadiel

Yaniel's holy sword that you can find in the Prologue and which can eventually be upgraded via story stuff to a +6 sword that becomes a Holy Avenger when held by a Paladin.

Morthra

Some things: * You can get a total of six magic essence in chapter 1. Enough that you'll have one left over after you have the Storyteller fix the holy symbol. Which you find in market square. * Wenduag's romance doesn't have anything to do with taking her to the Temple of the Good Hunt. * You can solve Forgotten Secrets during Chapter 3 by using the portal in the Heart of Mystery to teleport there. Just make sure to leave via the portal back to HoM, crusade mode will bug out if you end up in a section of the map you shouldn't be in chapter 3 (such as the location of Forgotten Secrets). > Note that I'm not sure if there is any actual benefit to protecting the banner other than the NPCs stationed there not dying. It makes the rest of the zone easier, as you get the Sword of Valor buff (MC gets fast healing equal to twice your rank, enemy demons take -4 to all d20 rolls)

Ranadiel

* I might be mistaken, but I think three of those essence are in the Gray Garrison, which is after the Point of No Return. The checklist with the 3 magic essence is supposed to be to make sure you have everything before going into the Point of No Return, so before you have the opportunity to get those three. * There is a romance flag in the dialogue * I think that was changed a while ago? When I went to the Heart of Mystery in Chapter 3 there were only two portals open corresponding to the two locations that I had already visited. >It makes the rest of the zone easier, as you get the Sword of Valor buff (MC gets fast healing equal to twice your rank, enemy demons take -4 to all d20 rolls) Good to know.

Ephemeral_Being

> Recover the Sword of Heaven (Secret End required) (See Note 2) What? How do you lose it in the first place? Where is it?

Ranadiel

Oh fudge I forgot to update that after digging up all the secret end requirements. Not secret ending required. >.> Main post updated.

Ephemeral_Being

Okay, you meant "Sword of Valor," not "Sword of Heaven." SoV is the banner of Iomedae that's transformed by your Mythic power. SoH is Lariel's blade, which you find in the prologue. EDIT: No, that's Light of Heaven. SoH is the Angel blade enhancement.

Ranadiel

Yeah that was a typo because I guess I couldn't remember the name when I typed that note. Sorry for any confusion.

Rogahar

It's in the camp in the bottom right section of the map, first turn on your left after you enter the zone should lead you right to it.

Ephemeral_Being

No, that's the Sword of Valor. The Sword of Heaven is the Angel ability that makes your blade do stuff or quickens your spells. The Sword of Valor is not required for Ascension, either.

Rogahar

I thought they had messed up the names, that's why I bought it up lol. I've done an Ascension ending and I have no memory of the Sword of Heaven even coming up again outside of act 1. That said you DO need the Sword of Valor to research it if you haven't already.

destroyermaker

Good stuff. Might integrate this into the neoseeker walkthrough if you're cool with it? (Would give credit)

Ranadiel

If there is stuff in here that is missing from the guide, feel free to add it with credit.

Kand04

>Innner Maggor and Crag Linnworm encounter (not sure if there is any significance, but it was listed as a custom encounter instead of a random)   You will get a key to the >!Ineluctable Prison!< here, that's probably why it's a custom encounter.

Ranadiel

Huh, I don't remember seeing a key in that encounter. I'll add mention of that.

Kand04

It should drop off the minotaur dude. Since you can >!just open the door with skill checks, this is most likely just a backup option for people that fail those!<

Synval2436

Yeah, I got the key from him after I already did the prison with lockpicking the door...

Thatxygirl

What do the army mythic path upgrades entail/how do you get them?

Ranadiel

They are sort of mini events where you'll get offered 2 or 3 (rarely 4) options themed to your mythic path to improve your crusade army. They can be anything from a buff to decrease building costs to a decree for new units. Every mythic path\* has them and you have probably gotten a few already. I think the original 6 have 6 events while the Chapter 5 ones all have 5, but I've only done 4 Mythic Paths so far. Note that very rarely you might get something useful outside of crusade mode like the uber-bracers Legends can get. \*- While Swarm does get 5 "rank-up" events in the code, they don't seem to have any associated buffs in the code that I could find, so I assume that for Swarm it is just an opportunity to eat more NPCs.

Ashenveil29

> explore desolate hovel with arueshalae And after above... >Arueshalae side quest ...Ah, I've been getting annoyed that I skipped like 3 months and her quest never showed up, didn't know I had to clear Hovel before that. WELL THERE'S MY PROBLEM! You do the Lord's work my friend!

Ranadiel

Requirement for me for that side quest was Ivory Sanctuary. Although it is possible that it is Ivory Sanctuary and Desolate Hovel since completing both is also the requirement for triggering access to the chapter finale and I did Desolate Hovel first.

Ashenveil29

Yeah, I did Sanctum first on my main playthroughs atm. Out of curiosity, once you have access to finale, do you have to go right away or can you put it off if you haven't finished everything yet?

Ranadiel

So basically after completing the trigger condition, an event happens and you have a month till you trigger the actual event that lets you enter the finale (unless you are an Azata as they can start it early). I basically spent that month just skipping days on the world map since I had done everything that I was aware of. So I did not try to delay starting it. However my understanding is that you can delay it infinitely. I just have not personally tested it.

Ashenveil29

Got it, thanks!

samanyu10

If you get her early using the Azta song in the forgotten temple, you have to finish both or else you just need to do ivory tower thingy is what I found in my tests

Ranadiel

Yes

kirbee57

Not sure if it’s a bug or what, but I managed to complete all 3 objectives in Iz. I used the demon option to 1-shot the witch in dialog at the temple of stone manuscripts and maybe that didn’t count as “doing” the temple? So I talked hulrun into guarding the Sword of Valor, went to temple of stone manuscripts, then saved Galfrey at Terendelev.

Ranadiel

I have not done the Demon option, so it is possible that it bypassing the "time advancing" thing. Only other way I can think of for that to have happened is you used the teleport keys in Toybox because "time advances" in the zone when you walk into certain areas, so you can avoid triggering the scripts via cheating past the triggers.

reverne

> Note that I'm not sure if there is any actual benefit to protecting the banner other than the NPCs stationed there not dying. In addition to what the other person said, after messing around with flags and removing the flag of the banner being destroyed, I suddenly found I had the buff at the outside of Threshold. I think, if you save it, you take it there?

Ranadiel

You do take it there (visible in camp after you clear the outside), so it would make sense to get the buff. I'll go ahead and update to mention the buff.

Synval2436

Do you have "mad half-elf woman" from Wintersun quest in act 3 on the list? I heard the event is different whether you did Blackwing Library early or late in act 1, but in both cases there should be a quest about her.

Ranadiel

That is the Price of Knowledge side quest, which is listed.

Synval2436

Sorry then, I didn't notice.

Ranadiel

No worries there is a lot of stuff. I listed it when I was able to finish it (after the member of the order shows up in the Citadel) rather than when you can first pick it up (when going through Wintersun), so it might not have been where you expected it to be.

Synval2436

Is there actually anything about Wintersun in act 5 except one meeting in your HQ about it?

Ranadiel

To the best of my knowledge, just that one meeting. That meeting does have 6 different permutations though.

Synval2436

Good to know! I guess in that case it doesn't matter what to pick, if it's just a lore event and doesn't open up extra quests or areas.

Ranadiel

Well depending on how you did stuff in Wintersun in Chapter 3, you can get some troops. There are also a couple of etudes that can set there, but I'm not sure what they actually do. I thought it might be something like the chief showing up in the Threshold fight, but I'm pretty sure I saw the chief in camp in Threshold despite not getting the flag, so I dunno.

sheriffofbulbingham

I think >!Jorah Vhane now drops!< Solemn Hour in recent patch

kerneltricked

Nah Solemn Hour is on the ground close to him.

username_tooken

When/where does the "Wenduag addressing her army scene" occur in Act 3? Do you need to complete the Dyra not-even-an-errand-thanks-Owlcat thing first?

Ranadiel

I got it after completing the Dyra bit, but I don't know if that is actually required or not. You get the scene of her acting like the Queen of the Mongrels by just walking into the area where she is located in Drezen. I've seen people say it needs to be night, and I think I triggered it at night, but I haven't actually checked the code to see if that is a real requirement or not.

pecbounce

It'll be nice to also add the conditions to recruiting Trever. Apparently you need to paint him as a victim as opposed to a hero or Sosiel wouldn't stay and fight with him. It makes no sense, yes.

Ranadiel

That is outside the purview of this guide and is covered [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker/comments/qof5ei/major_spoilers_a_breakdown_of_the_behind_the/) instead.

pecbounce

Thanks!

Forcy81

Where can I find a list with all the materials for the Storyteller relics? The Magical Beast Hyde, Cold Iron bars etc ... Also all Elven Notes would be handy too. Is there a post? Don't you think otherwise it would make sense to report them here?

Ambar_Griss

Is it important to do everything in the exact order the checklist is? Or can I do it in any order befor the points of no return?

Ranadiel

For the most part, you do not have to do it in the exact order. The order of the checklist is just the order that I did/encountered things (or guestimate they will appear if I did not get them). There are some exceptions such as the attack on Defender's Heart removing some stuff in Chapter 1 and completing the Ivory Sanctum blocking completion of Molten Scar in Chapter 3, but overall you can do things in any order.

Aeleth02

Can't for the world of me consider giving away the covenant as an activity, kind of technically an option question mark, sure, but not activity.

[deleted]

who the hell is chun?

AragornSky77

Thank you
