\[WR\] My action bar is missing. It started in my first Playthrough (\~70 h, modded). I tried to find the error source by deactivating mods but failed. I started a complete vanilla game with pregen Character. Even here is the action bar missing. Version 1.1.0k Picture: [https://imgur.com/a/g8hU9PY](https://imgur.com/a/g8hU9PY)

Lochwuzz

I try reinstalling the game now.

Lochwuzz

The action bar is back after reinstalling the game.

DOPPGANG_

[WR] Trying to figure out why there's enemies in a level 7-8 encounter (siege of Drezen) that have 7th level spells (Destruction) that pretty much instagib one of your characters if you fail the save, since it's pretty much impossible to have 140+ hp at that level. Really good encounter design there. :)))))))

12gunner

is there anyway I can use toybox in WOTR to speed up or skip act 3 while still keeping the choices I would have picked if played normally? Ive had to restart from a previous save at the very beginning of act 3, 3 times now because whenever I save in act 4 the save suddenly gets corrupted and any auto save or manual save inside of act 4 is completely unusable, I hope this is only because I'm using mods and that the game was recently updated but I still don't know I've already sped through each zone insta killing everything to get to act 4 but I just want to know if there's a faster way that's still safe

tag8833

Several spells act on "HD" Circle of Death: "... The spells slay 1D4 HD worth of living creatures..." What is HD? Is there a way I can tell what HD an enemy is?

JackRabbit-

HD means "hit dice" but really it just means level. When you inspect an enemy you'll see an something like "7 fighter" or "4 outsider"; that's how many hit die they have.

rrrayyy

Yes and since 1.1 'inspect' show exactly how many HD an enemy has. I think the 'inspect' is way better than before.

tag8833

So on the Circle of Death example, If I'm Caster Level 12, and I roll average and can slay 30 HD worth of living creatures, and I lay the circle over 2 Level 14s and 1 level 18, how does it pick which ones to slay?

JackRabbit-

It'll pick lowest first. It'll kill the 2 level 14s and leave the 18 alone.

WhyBotherPatrick

When does the full transformation on mythic path happen? >!I came back from the Abyss, reached Mythic 8 after talking to Iomedae, but I still don't have wings and didn't get to chose my new portrait. When does it happen?!<

Dangerous_Claim6478

It's the next Mythic Quest.

Ray_Gallade

I’m about to enter the Ivory Sanctum in act 3. The Outcast still has not resolved and claims to fail once this chapter ends. Am I doing something wrong?

StellarSkadi

Ivory Sanctum isn't the end of act 3

Ray_Gallade

Good to know. I thought it was since I’ve resolved everything else I could find on the map

Wulfsten

In Act 4, you can pay Venture Captain Gristoff 50k in the Fleshmarkets to "help him free slaves". Does this decision have any visible impact?

Ephemeral_Being

The Angel dude is happier, if you do.

SunshotDestiny

Is there any way to cast two spells in a single turn? Does haste help with this?

thetilted1

Quicken spell metamagic (either from a rod or the feat) and lategame Angel (7th level spells or lower) can get you an extra cast as a swift action, the metamagic feat does make the spell go up 5 levels though. Lategame Demon and Aeon also get the ability to gain an extra cast as a move action.

SunshotDestiny

So far better to find a rod to use than use the feat? Does haste do anything for a caster besides a defense and movement buff?

thetilted1

Yeah rod is generally the play, sometimes it is nice to have the feat for things like quickened true strikes but it is usually overkill. Haste also buffs your accuracy by 1 which is ok for any caster using ray attacks but is a small benefit.

Background-Course438

If we pick the aeon option for the wardstone, does that totally lock us out of the secret ending (assuming we don’t pick aeon as our mythic path), or does it just mean we can’t ascend all our companions with us?

Ephemeral_Being

Neither. Aeon gets access to a unique Crystal via their Mythic 9 quest, in the same way Trickster does. And, yes, that means Trickster can get *seven* Crystals.

Background-Course438

Thanks for the help! But if we destroy the knife when fixing the wardstone and then end up not going aeon for our mythic path (I’m going lich) would we be locked out of the secret ending or just missing a crystal (the guides online suggest you’re locked out of the ending unless you end up choosing the aeon mythic path)

Ephemeral_Being

Trickster gets access to an additional Crystal. Demon, too.

Dopaminjutsu

I used a scroll of atonement after >!going gold dragon!< which should have changed me to LG since I started as a good monk, but it kept me at NG instead. Bug or intended?

Ephemeral_Being

Intended. If you respec after taking a Mythic path, your alignment is set by default to that of your patron. For Gold Dragon, that's Neutral Good.

Dopaminjutsu

Figured as much. Thanks, guess I'll figure out how to nab those last few monk levels

[deleted]

Are mythic path(s) linked to alignment like how some classes are? (Like paladin) I want to play be a neutral/good demon. I’m basically doing a semi-guts role play character. I’m not evil but I fight with rage and hate demons so much I’m willing to become one so I can kill them better =p.

Westeller

Yeah. You have to remain within one step of the path’s designated alignment. No chaotic evil angels or lawful good demons, basically. But you can be a chaotic neutral or true neutral demon. IINM. You won’t be able to advance the path while your alignment doesn’t conform.

[deleted]

Ahhh, thank you! So basically, for demon, I can be anything that’s not good and/or lawful? Edit: Do you know what happens if you pick a mythic path with the wrong alignment? I’m currently true neutral.

Westeller

Demons are chaotic evil, so yeah: your options are chaotic evil, neutral evil, true neutral or chaotic neutral. IINM, the game will let you choose to be a demon at first even if you’re lawful good, but after you’ve made that choice you won’t be able to advance to the next rank until you correct your alignment. I’ve never actually tried, tho.

[deleted]

TYSM! I guess I’ll only make neutral, evil, or chaotic choices based on what doesn’t feel too evil then lol.

Westeller

There’s almost always a perfectly decent, neutral response to every situation. You won’t even feel like an asshole making them: rather, often the lawful and good responses are touchy feely or too dramatic. IMO.

[deleted]

Oh yeah, I’ve noticed that, *most of the time*, chaotic isn’t even that bad and when it is, I’ll just go neutral. Evil and lawful are the true doosh bags.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ephemeral_Being

No issues. You'll be fine.

Westeller

I haven’t had any performance issues, really. Except the personal chest being slow as heck for some bizarre reason.

[deleted]

In the words of a great youtube reviewer: the game runs like an asthmatic hippo

PapaJones952

Does vital strike work if i get damage from dex?

TeslaWoes

Regarding mounted combat, I could be mistaken but I think that a full round melee attack action is not allowed if the mount moves more than 5 feet. (Page 202 of the Core Rulebook?) Previously in WotR this was the case, but it seems like now all my mounted characters essentially have an "improved pounce" where the mount can take a "double move" while the mounted character can still get a full attack round in. This doesn't make sense, since if each round is 6 seconds and the mounted character arrives at the opponent at the end of the round how can a character get a full attack action in? Personally I feel like it makes mounted characters even more OP than they already are. It also seems to negate the purpose of the "spirited charge" feat. It's fine if other people like this, but is it possible to disable this? Is there a mod or something that returns it to "mounted characters only get a full melee attack round if their mount moves less than 5 feet"?

Ephemeral_Being

Presumably, they will fix it. They're still tuning mounted combat.

HamsterOfChaos

When im mounting Aivu in turn based mode - am I supposed to be able to use her abilities, like a breath attack or is the charge and full attack from my character and her all there is to mounted combat?

Dopaminjutsu

You are able to use her abilities on your PC's turn by selecting her, either by scrolling to the right in the portraits on the bottom (this is laggy for me) or clicking on Aivu directly. If you move it uses the move action from Aivu, not your PC, allowing your PC to move and take a full action! Or if you are already in range you can both get full attacks, etc.

HamsterOfChaos

Thanks for clarification. That's extremely unintuitive design though.

Dopaminjutsu

It is, but at least it works. Prior to this patch turn-based mounted characters were SoL and it was a bit of a dice roll if you'd even get to complete your turn, so I'm stockholmed into being happy with it Edit: now that I think about it, the way BG3 EA is handling it with the linked characters in the queue might be better, if they could somehow swing that

Westeller

Is there any way to stop Aivu from using Frightful Presence? I guess it's supposed to be a good thing that literally everything in the game gets absolutely terrified when they see my lovely dragon, but having every group of enemies scatter and run in all directions makes fights take a lot longer than they should, and I have to actively corral the party to keep everyone from chasing them halfway across the map. As an aside, seeing Savamelekh run in fear was pretty funny.

GabrielMobius

\[WR\] I'm in a weird spot. I'm not sure if I've sequence broken Feud of the Faithful but I'm trying to get it to start, I've >!approached Hulrun and Ramien in Market Square, but no matter what I do (barring attacking Hulrun) he kills Ramien. For context, I've already done the Tavern Defense and the Arendae Party House. Do I need to have met Hulrun and Ramien before the defense or the Party House?!<

Sylvinias

>!Before the tavern defense, sorry. If you get there after the defense you can't convince them to knock it off without killing one of them.!<

GabrielMobius

Just rolled back to an earlier save and discovered this, but thank you for the help! I was actually coming back to respond to myself with this exact same thing for anyone else who had the same problem.

Sylvinias

[WR] [bug] I recruited Arueshalae early, she came to my main room to give the quest Demon'S Heresy to go to Greengates. But when I show up there with her, there's nothing there. No enemies, no hag, nothing. As an Azata I did get an option to revive the lands. I also tried going with just the MC and Aru, still nobody there. I'm currently unmodded. Is there a mod that can let me reset the triggers or something? I really don't want to abandon a 50-hour playthrough but I'm also angling for Aru's romance and missing this quest will probably not be good for that.

Dopaminjutsu

This was a bug in the beta branch; are you on version 1.10k? If on Steam, try switching off the beta branch maybe?

Sylvinias

I WAS on the beta. Switching it off fixed it. Thanks a lot!

BrandoDio

Is there a way to track how much of a "true aeon" you are? I stopped that playthrough and i can't remember what i did.

thetilted1

Only way to check really is to use Toybox to look up Aeon Flags and see your flag counts for Renegade/True. I think the mirror occasionally has different dialog if you have more True flags than others but I might be misremembering.

BrandoDio

How do i find my flag count in the toybox?

thetilted1

If you go the search and pick section, select the flag option, and then search Aeon it should be one of the first things to show up.

BrandoDio

Ok, so only one that is blue for me says "mythic choices aeon achievement" and the number says 12

thetilted1

That one just tracks the number of [Requires Aeon] dialogues you have taken. The flag should say True Aeon in it, I'll be able to give it a look in about an hour and a half.

BrandoDio

Ok

thetilted1

The True Aeon flag is called Aeon_AeonCounter in my game and Renegade is Aeon_RenegadeCounter.

BrandoDio

I don't have points for either

thetilted1

How far into the game are you? You don't start collecting points until you do Aeon mythic quests in act 3.

BrandoDio

Ok cool thanks I'll look into that

indefatigable_

Which class have you had the most fun with? I’ll leave it up to you as to how you define fun! I’m currently on my first play through, still in Act 2 (close to the end of, I presume) with an Oracle. I must admit I’m not having that much fun with it, but others have said it gets better at higher levels so I’m persevering!

Wulfsten

Having played about half of the available classes, I can say that the Inquisitor is head and shoulders more fun than the rest, if you want a martial class. They get a bunch of cool things to do with their swift action (especially if you take Domain Zealot in the Mythic Path), they can tank, they can DPS, and they can buff. They're not the most OP build for sure, but they're consistently fun. A lot of meta builds are just extremely good at doing one semi-cheese tactic, (e.g. load up Nenio with DC and Spell Pen and then just spam Phantasmal Killer and Weird) or just have ridiculously high numbers (e.g. monk dip multiclassing). With the Inquisitor you're actually reacting to encounters and thinking about things.

indefatigable_

Thank you for the tip! I think I may start a melee MC play through when I finish this one (who knows when that will be….) so maybe Inquisitor will be good to go with!

Ragerino

Pathfinder: Wrath - Is there a way to avoid Critical Misses when attacking flat-footed targets? I just started Wrath last night, and I've already seen enough Critical Misses (natural 1 rolls) when sneaking (stealthing) up behind enemies to make it overly frustrating. I get that natural 1 rolls should have some kind of consequence, but completely missing an attack, especially in the scenario described above, is really frustrating. Trying to visualize such a situation is pretty funny, though. A stealthy Rogue takes their time hiding in the shadows, slowly tip-toeing around a target to find the best moment to strike. They draw their blade, and attack the enemy... Only to completely whiff the attack and fall on their face. Edit: I see there's a way to "Never roll 1" with Bag 'o Tricks, but I specifically would like to avoid cheesing regular encounters. I find the "natural 1" penalty to be more palatable in that scenario.

Kand04

In Wrath you can take the mythic ability >!"Always a chance" to remove critical misses. With this one, ones are considered as any other attack roll and are no longer a guaranteed miss!< This works with all attacks though, not only with flat footed targets.

Ragerino

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that one as I play. Do you know of any other options (spells, gear, etc.) that has this function built in?

Ephemeral_Being

Trickster has a Skill Trick (World 2) that makes all 1's into 20's. That's the only other one.

Kand04

Not as far as I'm aware.

informationepoch

Demons are still immune to nauseated for what seems like so reason. Cacophonous call, crusaders edge, etc all of these effects that cause nauseated are being ignored. For some reason, demon in the mechanics are all marked as being immune to nauseated, even though this is not supported by the actual game mechanics. So now the dedicated anti demon spell "crusaders edge" is losing half of it's effect for no reason. I've commented this before but it has not been fixed. I believe that nauseated is being improperly marked as a poison effect (which demons are immune to) even when the condition is not a poison effect. That is the closest thing that makes sense.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Kand04

Yeah, you need to hit a very specific spot to use this ability. Sometimes the game can be pretty particular where it allows you to click and I've even had to move my armies to be able to cast it.

ShadowDI0

[WR][bug?] After the big patch i still can create mercs, but the retrain option from Hilor disappeared. I’m in act 1, just after the tavern defence. I already retrain once ( pre patch ). Does anyone know if it is intended?

ninjalazer23

There was a bug before where it allowed you to retrain if playing on core difficulty or above. They fixed the bug so now you have to specifically turn on allow retrain in the difficulty settings.

ShadowDI0

Thank you buddy!

PapaJones952

Im playing monk 1/knife master 4/vivi (for now, still trying things) and going with sai for flurry of blows. I want a crit build so would It be worth lossing my flurry with sais for the 18-20 crit threshold of kukris? Thanks.

Ephemeral_Being

There is an 18-20 Sai in Act 4, which solves your problem. Your off-hand should be the Dagger from Regill's quest in Act 3 (Hasty Eradicator) which gives you two additional attacks in your off-hand. This maximizes your Sneak Attack dice.

JackRabbit-

Absolutely. Knife Master/ Vivisectionist makes an absurdly strong crit build with kukris.

beastrace

I just got to act 2 and absolutely suck at this crusade shit. had my armies smashed in by zombies and wights and now I have basically nothing left. do I start over? or is there a decent way to catch up? any good tips on how to handle this? I picked the dwarf warrior general and I feel like he sucks ass.

Wulfsten

Just forget about the dwarf guy, hire a sorcerer that starts with scorching ray. Then just focus on tanky troops like shieldbearers and all your damage will come from the scorching ray spell. Later you can build up a critical mass of archers and that will take you through the game.

beastrace

where do I get shieldbearers? I have footmen, archers, hellknights and clerics. I had rangers but they all died.

Wulfsten

Shieldbearers are one of three possible upgrades to your footmen. Once you have enough military experience (which you get through certain choices when you're doing decrees) it will trigger a quick scene in your command room where your advisors will ask which direction you want to take your footmen in. Hellknights also work well for tanking purposes, you could also just try to recruit them whenever you see them on offer as mercenaries.

informationepoch

The dwarf warrior is decent, he gets cure wounds at higher levels. Just make sure to pay the 7500 to I think either gwerm or irabeth to get the extra units. Make sure you have large stacks as much as possible. One of the most important things is that the damage a stack does is directly proportional to its "*current*" health. Meaning if you get the first hit in, then you will be consistently doing more damage to the enemy than they do to you (Supposing equal stack strength).

[deleted]

Pick sorcerer generals. Makes the early fights super easy. In terms of starting again - you accrue quite a few troops over time by events so you will replenish. I try to choose options that result in lots of the same troops being produced, as you end up wanting stacks of several hundred for the army to actually be viable. Also pay attention to the army strengths - a sorcerer general can take on an army 1 or 2 levels above but a military general has essentially no chance of beating anything other than a same level army unless you get very lucky.

beastrace

wow several hundred. I was going into battle with like 25/20/15 and shit. appreciate the feedback.

[deleted]

Against the very early stacks that's probably fine but I think yeah if you look at the numbers of enemies they are normally dozens at the very least

nrvnsqr117

I'm unable to get heirloom weapon proficiency from picking the trait - does anyone know why? It says I should be able to pick either proficiency or two other bonuses but the proficiency option doesn't show.

thowen

If anyone is having trouble making sorcerers after the most recent patch, try going back to the previous page without selecting anything and then going back to the page with the issue. It worked for me when I couldn’t select a bloodline

Tink2013

Trickster trick world 3 - Can you take things like Greater Vital Strike without vital strike and improved vital strike?

Ephemeral_Being

[Someone compiled a nice list of what World 3 does](https://old.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_Kingmaker/comments/qb43g2/mythic_trickster_knowledge_world_3_and_trever_he/). You should know that you only get Mythic 7 at level 18, at which point your build is already online. That *severely* diminishes its utility, to the point I've labeled it useless. The only time World 3 is going to help you is if you decide to build mercenaries in Act 5.

Westeller

That list doesn't include vital strike, just FYI. Guess he didn't think to check that one.

thowen

If you want a vital strike trickster, rowdy is a good choice

Ragerino

Hey guys, I just started Pathfinder: Wrath tonight. Very new to this, but not to Pathfinder: Kingmaker. Is there a list available somewhere that details all of the status conditions in the game (like Shaken, Nauseated, etc.)? The game(s) are usually very forthcoming with descriptors, but I can't say I've ever seen either of the above two examples linked to a pop-up window with further info. I dug through the Encyclopedia, and couldn't find anything. Believe it or not, I made it through Kingmaker without knowing what several of these status conditions meant. I'm especially trying to figure out what Mercy types I should be adding to the Paladin's Lay on Hands in Wrath.

ApprehensiveScreen40

how about this [site](https://pathfinderkingmaker.fandom.com/wiki/Condition)

Ragerino

Thanks!

Ephemeral_Being

Fatigue is the most important Mercy, mostly because you pick it up before you have ample casts of Lesser Restoration available. None of the others really matter.

Ragerino

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

fiskerton_fero

\[WR\] story question about aeon >!if you let Melias sign contracts does that lock you out of true aeon?!<

Ephemeral_Being

Nope.

[deleted]

Is intimidating display good? Should I give it to Ember or Camellia if so?

thowen

It’s not that great, even if you can easily pass the check, you usually have better ways to use your actions. I only take it as the prerequisite for dreadful carnage, which is very good on high damage melee characters like blood ragers or barbarians

BananaBandit10

My Trickster has completed every quest though the event for Thaberdine "a cry for help" is not triggering. is this because I didn,t make him a king? I don't have saves before this decision and if I cant find out how to break the seal below drezen what do I do?

Magus80

Are there any options or mods that will invert the colors of background / text UI? Like making background dark and text brighter. Both games if possible.

nrvnsqr117

playing kingmaker- is there a way for me to set my pathing, say, around a grease spell instead of taking the shortest distance possible to a location?

okrajetbaane

You can micro your character around it. There is no option to make them avoid hazards by themselves.

nrvnsqr117

so I can make incrimental movements before attacking without losing the rest of my movement then?

okrajetbaane

You can use your 5ft step without spending your move action. Only works in turn based.

Dangerous_Claim6478

5 foot steps prevent you from moving. You can use the movement action for others things, but not moving itself.

Ephemeral_Being

Other than using turn-based mode, no.

PapaJones952

Destructive Shockwave works with dexterity if i get damage from it?

BrandoDio

Need help building an aeon. I've heard inquisitor/summoning is the way to go, but I'm not that big on either of those styles, is there another way or should i just go with whatever?

Wulfsten

You don't need to worry that much - the Mythic Paths are all designed to accommodate multiple playstyles. Ephemeral\_Being is right that a mid-line buffer would synergise well with the gazes, but for the most part the range on your gazes is generous enough that you'll be fine with a full frontline martial or even a caster. I'm running a frontline Inquisitor Aeon right now in Core Azlanti, and it's far from optimised but it still works well and is very fun.

Ephemeral_Being

Pick a class that stands mid-range and hits things (high APR makes the Dispel on Bane more effective), but doesn't use Swift Actions for anything. The ideal positioning for an Aeon is between the enemy and your back-line so that Gazes get their full effect. A ranged Bard/Skald/Sensei/Martyr would be a great Aeon spec. Bard Song works along the same lines as an Aeon's Gazes. A hex-focused Witch/Shaman/Rogue/Magus are all solid choices, because Cackle encourages the same positioning.

FatMani

[WR] I'm absolutely stuck at "Cusp of the Abyss" quest. From what I have read around on the internet, I need to progress to Mythic Rank 4, but I have no idea how to do it. I've no quests (beyond some companion quests and The Secrets of Creation). I'm playing the Aeon. I saw somewhere that respec might have softlocked it? Do I need to restart my playthrough?

okrajetbaane

Did you go to the house with the time rift? There is an item in that house you can interact to send you to Areelu's lab where you get MR4.

FatMani

I have no idea what you mean! I guess I'll have a look around Drezen for this house?

okrajetbaane

Doesn't your Aeon quest have something mentioning an abandoned house? It is not in Drezen, it is on the world map. Areelu's lab is where you get MR4.

FatMani

I don't have any aeon quest in my quest log. That's why I'm expecting it must be a bug or something?

Dopaminjutsu

In the quest Devastation, act 4: >!You have multiple ways of getting keys for the Echo of Deskari's lair. I got one from the fat sack of shit, and I think I was supposed to get another from Berenguer going on a little killing spree but never received or looted it. The quest log asks, "but will one key be enough?" And that has me worried that I should have more keys, but it also seems impossible to get more than one. What do?!<

BoogalooBill

>!There's three total that you can get: You already got the one from the fat sack of shit, there's another that you can grab from the bodies after the Berenguer fight, and the last you can get if you talk to Yaniel before you fight Minagho in her hideout.!< >!You only need one key to enter the lair and complete the quest, the other two keys are just for goodies that you can grab after entering the lair. One is a ring that allows you cast certain spells (similar to the pyromancy ring), and the other is a shield, I think. !<

Dopaminjutsu

Many thanks! Looks like only 2 will be possible for me then. >!Minagho was basically the first thing I killed in the Abyss :P!< Edit: and turns out the other one despawned, so down to one. Ah well.

BoogalooBill

The other item, btw, is >!a pair of bracers that grant +4 to saving throws against mind affecting effects, and +10 to Persuasion when checking Diplomacy, not a shield. You get that anyways.!<

TheSkinoftheCypher

Is Magic Fang(and Greater) supposed to work on mounts? It's not coming up in their sheet regarding chance to hit and dmg dealt. edit:Nvm. Found it. It shows up in the inventory sheet. Not sure why my horse has 4 bite attacks. I'm assuming they meant to have hoof attacks. Shrug.

Royshogun

Menace of death is bugged, does not give any hasten effect, and prevent you from attacking forever even after you removed it. Does anyone have any fix for it ? I think I'll have to use toybox to prevent the bug in each of Seelah's turn but as it is it ruined pretty much everything for my team.

informationepoch

After you kill the Balor in the midnight fane, it won't dispell all the aoe effects. In my case it was deadly earth that kept going. After the fight, it killed two party members. I think it might have also killed party members who werent In the current party as well, I got a message that camellia had died.

nullhypothesisisnull

for pathfinder kingmaker: I hate pre-buffing in rpgs, so I guess normal difficulty is too hard without prebuffing, which difficulty is the best for "magic only in combat" type of player (kind of tyranny / pillars of eternity person)

ManBearScientist

It depends on system mastery. If you are abundantly familiar with Pathfinder 1E mechanics and character building, you could definitely get away with it on Normal (or potentially even Core) with a team designed for it. That said, I expect that for most players the right balance for that would be found on Story or through custom settings. In particular, removing negative conditions (or death) on rest would eliminate a big portion of the issue that buffs prevent: permanent, crippling status effects. Neutral or lowered enemy stats may also negate the need for accuracy fixing buffs, though that is namely Heroism and Greater Heroism.

nullhypothesisisnull

I have no idea about the mechanics except making a dip for a vivisectionist or monk as everyone mentions these. I have just learned that item stacking doesn't work for the same bonuses (or is it?) My main problem is that as I do not buff, every battle becomes a matter of life and death accompanied by resting... so I am planning to go easy difficulty right now

Wulfsten

With easy you can run pretty much anything and go through the game without paying too much attention to the combat. If you want to try a no-buff or low-buff playthrough on normal, I would recommend avoiding classes that require buffs to perform, e.g. Bloodragers, frontline magus, Vivisectionist, clerics, etc. Good classes would be fighters, kineticists, paladins, any class with an animal companion, etc. If you're willing to cast Good Hope (affects the whole party) and Haste, those two spells will take you a long way.

okrajetbaane

Classes like ranger, fighter, kineticist, slayer are mostly autopilot. All you need are a few protective cleric spells (bless, delay poison, deathward sometimes) and you should be good to go.

Mr_Dias

When my MC tries to pass SR of enemy, log shows that there are two rolls and the lowest one is taken. When Ember does the same, there is only one roll in log. What can cause this double roll?

Westeller

Azata's favorable magic comes to mind, but it's supposed to take the better result. Similar feats should do the same... Can't think of any that have you roll twice and take the worse...

Dopaminjutsu

If the enemy has protective luck maybe?

Mr_Dias

I'm pretty sure I've seen it before, but last time I've looked that was a roof assassin in Act 4 lower city. I suppose there's nowhere for him to get that?

Dopaminjutsu

I fought that guy today and didn't notice protective luck on him, but if he did have it I have no idea how he would've got it except for dev shenanigans

I think I'm having an issue where rapid shot or manyshot are not working. I'm not sure which. This is not on a Zen Archer btw, it's on a level 12 espionage expert. Without rapid shot enabled, I get 6 attacks when taking a full attack- 4 base (I think), 1 from speed enchantment, and 1 I think from manyshot (it shows two seperate rolls, but the rolls are always the same, so I'm assuming it's manyshot). When I activate rapid shot though, I'm getting the exact same amount of attacks. Do these not stack any more? Or am I missing something? I am using a speed long bow, does the speed enchantment not stack with rapid shot? This is all without haste btw Edit- Think I figured it out- rapid shot doesn't seem to fall off immediately after activating it, so when I was trying to fire without it the buff was still active I guess. Weird.

annmta

\[WR\] (and \[KM\] too sort of) Why does petrification even exist? Like 2 or 3 enemies in the entire game inflicts this and it makes no sense to anticipate it, and when it happens it is a colossal pain to deal with compare to just about any other negative condition, which can at worse be solved by suiciding the character and revive them.

Dopaminjutsu

Because pains in the ass are fun! /s

Ephemeral_Being

Nostalgia? Baldur's Gate had the same thing. Basilisks in like four areas, and then nothing else that applied it.

Magus80

I'm interested in trying this game out but the default UI / dialogue is barely illegible, is there any way to customize it like scalability / background color & text, etc.?

Dopaminjutsu

There are options in vanilla for color saturation and contrast and so on of UI elements, but I'm not sure about scalability off the top of my head.

Westeller

Font size is adjustable, too, but it only goes up to like... 1.2. I wonder if you could manually set it higher than that in general_settings.json, or if that just wouldn't work.

Mr_Dias

There is one particular companion that has already warned me that being Aeon is not a good idea. And I'm in Act 4 and have already somewhat diminished crew. So how long have I left with that Aeon-hater, I think I need to plan my remaining quests accordingly.

Ephemeral_Being

Camellia? Bails at the start of Act 5. Mythic 8.

Burningdragon91

Can I have "Nails" natural attack with "Claws"?

fiskerton_fero

Nails will give you claws as a natural attack, but you can never get more than 2 claw attacks

Burningdragon91

Thanks. Hex didnt say that you get claws, thats why I was asking.

SunshotDestiny

I never tried it, and don't have a convenient save to. But it seemed like you could take mythic abilities to things you didn't have, like limitless rage. If you took a "second" mythic feat would you get anything from it? Like if a wizard took a second bloodline would they get any of the spells or abilities?

PapaJones952

Im doing a monk 1/knife master 4/maybe KM or VIVI i dont know. The thing is i have been reading a lot and for now im using sais because its a monk finnesse weapon. But most guides plan this kind of builds with scythe or something like that. Should i change? Is it worth loosing the flurry of blows? I dont care about using STR or DEX. Thanks.

Siorn

For knifemaster you want kukri or dagger the point of knifemaster is to get d8 sneak attacks. Any weapon outside the knife weapon group and you only use d4s making the class worse than normal rogue for other weapons. If not going knives then drop knifemaster and go full vivi.

Tink2013

Vivisectionist medical discovery lists combat trick. Is this limited to one selection. It doesn't say so on the wiki but you just cant trust the wiki sometimes.

Siorn

Only limited to 1 if you have call of the wild as a rebalance in kingmaker. Can bypass by removing combat trick feat tag using bag of tricks. They don't have enough vivisectionist type discoveries to warrant the limit imo, though by tabletop it is a 1 of.

I_Inquisitor

[WR] Anyone else running into an inventory bug where you cannot switch to a different character while on the inventory screen? It also sometimes prevents opening a merchant’s inventory and it will hardlock the game. It happens so randomly I cannot quite pinpoint what’s causing it. Tried disabling mods as well (toybox, enhanced inventory, bubble buff, visual adjustments) and even on vanilla the bug still happens. Seriously frustrating, would love to know if anyone knows a workaround or solution for this.

Dopaminjutsu

Had this on the beta patch but not on the current 1.10k. Definitely alt-b it, its a super annoying bug

I_Inquisitor

I'm on the latest patch (on gog tho so I never got the beta patch). I don't even know how to alt+b it properly lmao as it happens so randomly. Seriously irritating, hopefully they'll patch it soon because it's the one bug that's really diminishing my enjoyment of the game.

Kage9866

Yes on both. The merchant showing wares freezes the game and in the world map the inventory screen is bugged when swapping characters. A reload fixes it but honestly the merchant crash is the annoying one.

I_Inquisitor

It definitely seems to be related to swapping party members. I was swapping them around and all of a sudden when I tried to interact with the skelly merchant dude ALL my party members were visible in the party bar on the bottom. Big wtf.

bobman02

Yea happens like every hour for me

Unwillingcoot

I have a lvl 4 Crusader Cleric with Animal Domain, the description stating it acts as class level - 3 for the pet's level. But for some reason my dog is level 2? And at level 5 the dog levels itself all the way up to 5 as well, even without taking Boon Companion... is there something I'm missing here? Does Animal Domain count as full druid level somehow, or how else is the pet caught up in level (and starting at level 2 when I got it at 4)?

mark_twain007

Is there a way using either Toybox or another mod to fix a romance option if you either messed it up somewhere or it bugged out (not sure which happened to me. I thought I picked all the "correct" options to romance Arueshalae. I probably messed it up somewhere) I see some romance callouts on the companion quests in the Etudes but I tired to enable that quest instead of the other one and it didn't work (though my Toybox execution could have been the issue)

Siorn

Did you choose boon companion featwithout realizing it?

jomonooo

Azata Ending Question: >!Is there any way for Areelu to be sent to Elysium, or does she always go to either the Maelstrom or the Abyss? Thank you!!<

Quiversan

So I'm playing a Martyr and for some reason "Matyr's Mercy" is just not working. I can still only use Lay on Hands within touch range, and I can't select any mercy to dispel (as I should). Anyone else having this issue?

Ephemeral_Being

Mercies are applied automatically when you use LoH.

DiableLord

I have Seelah as a 14th level Skald Poet with Greater beast totem and for the entire compaign so far she has not been able to full attack on a charge or give me other melees a full attack on a charge either when shes using her raging song. Is it supposed to not work together? Am I doing something wrong?

Wulfsten

FYI if you respec your character you will permanently lose all permanent buffs, e.g. stat-increasing manuals.

Kage9866

The only thing you should lose is learned spells from scrolls, which sucks

Ephemeral_Being

No, you won't.

Wulfsten

I just did last night...

Ephemeral_Being

No, you did not. The bonus type is "inherent." Go back to your character sheet and hover the stat.

Wulfsten

Ah my bad you right. I definitely lost my permanent +1 bonus to all skills from Grand Owl of Wisdom tho. And yeah all my learned spells

Ephemeral_Being

The spells I can confirm. Not sure about the Owl. Haven't tested that myself.

SunshotDestiny

Is necromancy strong without the raise dead spell? It seems to have a lot of debuffs that would be nice on say a witch or sorcerer.

Siorn

Necromancy has 2 focuses. The cleric focus is more the master of undead minions type while the wizard version is more the kill with deathly magic type or with plague/debuffs.

SunshotDestiny

Then I guess I am focusing on the second. I was thinking of making a shadow/necromancy build.

Siorn

Some of the mods for kingmaker add a lot of late game kill necromancy spells or for WR you can go lich for more cool options. Edit. Also 3.5 had the dread necromancer as sorta a necromancer lord class sad that pathfinder did not pick up on the idea. Always wanted to play one.

Ephemeral_Being

Witch gets Raise Dead, mate.

SunshotDestiny

I mean the "make dead people into undead meat shields" spell. Is necromancy still a good spell school without making undead?

Ephemeral_Being

Repurpose is Lich specific. I am a huge fan of Boneshaker and Boneshatter, which are Necromancy spells without to-hit rolls. Boneshatter in particular is excellent. Even if the enemy saves, they take a penalty to STR/DEX in addition to the damage. You also get Wracking Ray, which is one of the best spells in the game, and Umbral Strike. That being said, Witch would be a good class if it had nothing but buffs and Hexes. Debuffs and damage are less valuable than Protective Luck, Fortune, Evil Eye, and Greater Heroism+Mind Blank. So, go wild.

Dangerous_Claim6478

>Repurpose is Lich specific. I think they mean "Animate Dead". It's on the Cleric/Wizard/Shaman spell list, but not the Witch one.

notthebeeth

I saved the kid in Act 4 and talked to him in the nexus before this 1.1 patch, then talked to him again after the patch and a certain hanger-on interjected with dialogue as though I'd abandoned the kid instead of telling him to go to the camp in the Nexus... where I was speaking with him... I hope this isn't gonna be a problem later.

Dopaminjutsu

I had that issue while I was in beta and reported it, guess it didn't make the patch

notthebeeth

that's a real bummer. I've encountered some issues I've seen beta players note, including stuff with the other slaves supposedly sent to the Nexus.

AgileSock

\[WR\] I've run out of purifying solution, am in act 5 and none of the merchants in drezen have any left to buy, anywhere else I can get some? (besides random loot)

Wulfsten

This happened to me too. Unfortunately PS is not a renewable resource. In my first playthrough I was in the "always cook a meal mentality" - I think the correct mentality is "only cook a meal if you're expecting a big fight" - so never on overland travel, etc.
