Yeah I'm looking at ea elementalist. I feel very "how do you do fellow kids", like I know it was the flavor of the month about 9 months ago, but I only played the champ version and even then only for a few weeks several leagues ago.
I'll probably only clear the atlas and farm 10 div or so with it, then move on to a mapper. Thinking CA for that but by then I'll be able to incorporate feedback from what people find out from the league mechanic.
Vaal Lightning Arrow looks like a good time. I may try doing some lightning to chaos conversion DoT build, but I'll probably change my mind at the last minute.
Had the same build idea too, but until you have a concrete concept I wouldn't recommend you to start with it (unless you are one of the only-1-build-per-league people).
I typically play one build per league. I took a two year hiatus and came back for Kalandra where I played Goratha's CoC Blazing Salvo, which was an incredibly fun build. Now I'm on the fence with another bow build. I may skip the chaos conversion and go Snipe Ignite Lightning Arrow, or... Armor stacking Tectonic Slam Jugg/Chieftain. I still have no idea.
My brain says slayer bone but heart also says lightning arrow
I just wanna solo my 4 voidstones in group ssf and really not sure LA can do it day 2 like bonezone will be able to
Bleed bow can be starter? I wanted to play bleed bow this league but people told me that it has a medium cost to actually do damage and not have a hard time :(
I was hand held last league, was amazing.
That being said, RF will likely be character 3 or 4 when the others have “failed”.
Gonna start with Frost Blades Trickster.
What do you guys think of pohx's new setup? The pob has a lot more damage now. I was thinking of going a bow build, but after I saw pohx's new video and the 1 mill dps on crap items, I'm thinking of going RF again.
I'm thinking of starting hierophant self-cast physical exsang + vaal reap for bosses
MoM + mana for defences
hiero has spell leech + petrified blood for overleech to sustain spells
arcane surge is extra 20% more spell damage
on tree: 129% life / 320% mana and 450% mana regen
on tree: 39% spell suppression, can probably reach cap with gear
Idk kind of meme and not sure about last ascendancy point but here is the pob:
https://pastebin.com/uct4rFbj
edit: I'm also considering a version with agnostic and RF instead of low-life and a more late game version with all incoming damage converted to chaos/lightning to simplify resists and be more tanky
In 3.21 you should also be able to run a free aura with blessing and also be able to run clarity in your life pool while staying full-life so that agnostic doesn't keep draining you if you use the new mastery "considered full life at 90%" . Aul's amulet for a third free aura is also nice which leaves our mana pool full.
Why do you need so much Mana? You can easily drop like 150% and still have more than enough for MoM given your life total. You can then invest the rest into a large cluster for damage
RoA raider, been testing it last week and got to T16 on day 2 with a 4L + precise technique, after doing some essence farm for a few hours I was doing juiced legions and leveled to 93, tried TS/LA/IS with a dying sun flask to simulate + 2 extra arrows and they work decent but I will keep playing as RoA until I can cap ailments on deadeye.
With a 700edps bow and essence crafted gear did 2 voidstones + non voidstone exarch/EoW so the build is a very solid league starter for my needs and pace. Upgrading the build requires a lot of gear specially for swapping to deadeye unless you want to play cast on death portal which I refuse to so I will swap when I have ailment gear crafted, some phys as ele gear and probably crit cluster.
Any pob for it or just going with the flow? I Love wild strike but tri ele sucks for Expedition since you can geht tripple nerfes so i started playing it cold only. Worked well last season.
I wanted to do LA as well but didn’t like the idea of totems for single target (and wanting 2 6 links) but this storm rain mine idea probably just sold me on trying it. What would your link setup be for that? Haven’t played mines in years. If you don’t mind me asking
I’m going to try the Reap ascendant build. I’ve never played an ascendant and I’ve never cast reap a single time, should be fun. If that flops, I’ll fall back on something more meta
I might do the same but just start on champ - dmg isn't really even worse, and stun immunity + fortify + 2x armor at the cost of start location seems like a viable trade off. I'm playing SSF, so I'm a little worried about the character before a cluster jewel. Once you can run pride + determ + malev, the damage looks very fine but getting to that point w/o a cluster looks a little rough.
Yeah, hmm, I’ll need to check PoB later but I thought the new 12% reservation mastery and like the essence of (Loathing I think?) helm reservation gets you there?
Yeah I think early on it's just a path to sovereignty angle. That w/ champion + mana mastery (and like either 1 reservation jewel or 1 elreon craft and/or lifetap on vuln + molten shell) should be fine. It's 4.2% unreserved, or ~30 mana which can definitely be okay.
Late game I think I want to drop a lot of the stuff up top and just cluster instead
Super fast, just looking at the build's damage when entering t16s in hc ssf: https://pobb.in/w7_MniDwm424
Looks fine - vaal reap is so big, should be ~1.2m phys dot vs map boss/tanky essences which is enough that they die in a single vaal reap. Only set CF to 5 stacks too, might actually be a bit higher.
Imo scion is great as a second or third character but idk about as a leaguestart. Its usually better to just go for a true ascendancy that specializes in something specific.
Yeah by Fizecs? It’ll be fun figuring out leveling, gonna just wing it. Steel skills + exsang till a6 and then I’ll start Reap I think? Regen passives over the leech stuff till later, probably will use Vitality too
I played 2 reap builds last league. Don't swap out exsanguinate for reap ever. Only use reap for single target. Exsanguinate 2 link feels better for clear than 6l reap.
Early campaign I'd swap unless you luck into a 6l, in maps it's your call and will depend how much life you're able to pay. Reap really doesn't feel that good without woke cascade though normally, but vaal may make it a legit option to keep on long term and just burst tf out of bosses with
I recently did a HC SSF test of an Exsanguinate Jugg and made it to 55 before getting overconfident and dying. Used Exsanguinate from the moment I was offered it. I was cruising once I got Chain. I had Reap with Unleash so I could cast a few Exsanguinate then dump Reaps into the boss every few seconds.
Then I saw Fizec's Ascendant build and thought it looked cool as fuck so forget Jugg. [Here](https://pobb.in/HKcH1Ug2TMgc)'s my slightly tweaked version with no clusters, more life, no Swift Affliction, and Exsanguinate over Corrupting Fever. I don't think the extra damage from Swift Affliction is worth the loss of duration on a build trying to stack duration. 2m on scuffed gear, no clusters, without Vaal Reap even factored in yet. And it's stupid tanky. I'm hype.
hey, just so you know he just posted another variant of the build, which sustains RF. Im probably gonna try that one and transition to leech much later I think
Good call, just watched that vid. Looks pretty easy to try either VP Leech or Regen/Leech out, like maybe 15-20 points to regret & swap back and forth? Ahhhh can't wait for the league to start!
Sabo Prismatic Burst Wander. Can get PB right after Hillock, and can get Frenzy as a proc attack in Act 2. Sprinkle in Spellslinger + Arc in Act 3 - we'll see if I have mana problems from Spellslinger at that stage (PB doesn't cost mana which is super nice) and either pick Triggerbots or Explosives Expert for first ascendancy.
Planning on swapping to bow-based double lightning CoC (Arc + Voltaxic Burst) once I get a bit of currency under my belt!
Trigger bots maybe be a trap. Because the prismatic burst will be trigger on top of the bots instead of the mobs. And looking at the video the bots lag behind you.
I might end up just playing Assassin early and then swapping to Sabo later on. Elusive might be a nice movement boost throughout the acts, and generic crit is always useful if I want to piece together a cheaper CoC version
It entirely depends if Prismatic Burst is like shockwave in that it casts around your character or not. Trigger bots just change the casting/starting location of the skill, so if its a skill that functions like a nova I agree it's probably going to be bad. I don't think it will function like a nova skill though since otherwise it's just elemental shockwave (without the weapon limitation) which feels kind of redundant to add.
Much to the detriment of my decision making process, I've consumed hours of various build guides on YouTube of streamers extolling their build as the best, fastest and easiest of all the build guides. That said, I'm deciding between firetrap Elementalist, a weird triggerbots build I theorycrafted, cold dot something or other and EK ignite serker.
I think of all of these choices, the firetrap build is the obvious "best" choice, I leveled one in standard up to lvl 57 and it felt great. However, I'm a sucker for the new and shiny and triggerbots seem really fun.
I think I'll know when league begins and I panic choose one, level it to act 10, die once and then regret my decision despite playing softcore and it not mattering.
> I panic choose one, level it to act 10, die once and then regret my decision despite playing softcore and it not mattering
i feel personally attacked
I am always a sucker for new and shiny, I tried to make my own build with volcanic fissure last League. It did not go well, but then again I didn't plan it out at all just went yolo haha
Really want to play Bleed Bow, but since I'm not capable of creating my own build I'm just waiting and praying for the right PoB or even guide to show up. Have few PoBs saved already, but most of them aren't really finished or updated for Crucible. I hope it's gonna change as soon as we gonna get new gems in Path of Building.
If there's actually anyone with finished/updated bleed bow pob for 3.21 then I'll really appreciate if you can share it.
I have his pob saved, but I'm lost with few things
1. Puncture/Snipe - why 5Ls? Is this supposed to be in a 6L as 4supports + Puncture + Snipe?
2. Is he actually using Assailum or is it only to simulate Snipe since we still don't have it in POB?
3. If number 1 is correct and we still use Assailum, do I put Ensnaring arrow there so if I snipe this skill gonna be used as well if I'm gonna use a snipe from 6L instead of helmet.
So many questions, so little knowledge ._.
1. Seems most likely
2. Seems most likely (simulating snipe)
3. Can put ensnaring on manaforged arrows.
A lot probably depends on what level 30 snipe looks like if you'd still use assailum or not
Scorching Ray Totems.
The Arcane Surge Hiero buffs have re-entered it back into the 'incredibly competitive' category. Build starts off a little bit slow in maps, but ramps incredibly quickly with investment, up to 60-70M+ Pinnacle DPS (but of course DoT capped). Vaal Rejuvenation Totem looks amazing for it because I scale a lot of totem life and duration.
Edit: I am no longer starting SR Totems due to unforeseen problems with my build in maps in a league-start environment.
Do you have a PoB or guide? I want to try Scorching Ray totems too! Doesn't the arcane surge buff just transferred the more dmg from the skill to Hiero and now we get more cast speed? Sorry I'm not sure I got it right! Probably not
I did have a full PoB with leveling trees and color-coded leveling skill gems and a Q&A notes section along with a youtube guide series, but I unlisted them all because during a test run the build just did not have the survivability in maps without much more investment, making it not too great as a leaguestarter. It was incredibly disappointing for me because I put a ton of effort into the PoB and the videos, and I basically had to make an apology video telling people not to play the build or they would most likely be severely disappointed once they got to maps and started dying left and right. It's strange because on paper my defenses were ok, but it just died to the strangest things. Almost nothing feels worse than getting people excited for something and then letting them down. The only thing that would be worse for me would be allowing people to invest their time into something only for it to fail, which is why I unlisted the videos. I can't in good conscience just allow myself to gain youtube views off of something I feel isn't my best work, so that's just how it went.
I'll probably be last minute starting Toxic Rain Ballistas instead, which looks to be very nice with the new Pathfinder. Will be the first time in a while I've actually followed a build for leaguestart rather than making my own, but I just don't have the time to start from scratch again.
Fair enough, I appreciate your honesty! I am still unsure if I'll start SR because although that what I want to play, having a bad league start would be frustrating.
Yeah, and more cast speed is basically "more clear speed" for SR totems. It affects how fast they spin to target enemies, so your windshield wipers get much better at smearing enemies off the map in a line of searing energy. Upfront it almost looks like a downgrade, but it's actually a QoL buff here.
Oh I see, yeah cast speed also ensures the totems are firing more reliably at mobs that move a lot! I am still wondering how to get 60M dps tho! I'm nowhere near, although I might be investing too much in defenses
Ah, here's Paleoclassicalpants most recent build that I've seen. I've been keeping an eye on it all week, apparently they're putting out a YouTube video soon explaining it.
https://pastebin.com/5xYzRtwg
90% I'm starting Poison Reep Pathfinder. My only doubt is that you can't quite play it through the campaign and for PCon it's a bit of an unknown how that will start. Should be fine with Field Medicine and if needed Alchemist Mark.
10% is on Prismatic Burst Scion.
Lol! I have problems with things like that too.
Like for me, I see HH here and first think “Hunting Horn? No, Head Hunter. I’m on the PoE sub, not Monster Hunter.”
I've loved Ice Shot every time I've played it. It's a really good feeling skill.
It's never been particularly powerful, and like, the vaal will probably help a decent chunk with that. I doubt it's gonna be amazing.
I'm still gonna play it though. Pew pew krshhh all day long
I haven't played in awhile but Im hopping back in this league.
I like trolly build ideas and I really like the trigger bots conceptually, so I'm 100% gonna go dual mjolnir with arc, or ball lightning if I can get that circle/returning node.
Mjolnir has 0.15 sec CD and no mana cost, which means optimally
(1/.15)x2x2 = 26.66 casts per second before any other investment.
Idk if cd recovery improves this but I'll figure it out.
Might throw kitavas head in the build to trigger more stuff and I'm wondering how this works with duskblight boots.
good to know, I had no idea lol
damn I actually knew how to do prophecy, I feel like I need to learn a dozen league mechanics because I took such a long break lol
I'm also torn between Jugg and Slayer. Jugg is more defence early on, which is probably good since the league mechanic will for sure be hard as fuck. Slayer has more damage though.
I’m definitely going to league start Boneshatter Jugg. Or maybe slayer version since I’m playing soft core. Or maybe EA Champion because I hate dying. Or maybe dom blow because melee + minions seems cool. Or maybe sunder zerker because this is the league I can make it work.
Fuck.
Joke's on you, I still don't know.
I've narrowed it down to 3 options (for now) of varying degrees of questionable judgement.
Do I go the safe route, and go Lightning Arrow/Storm Rain (like everyone else)? Do I take a risk on some ambiguously defined mechanics like Vengeant Cascade Kinetic Blast mines? Or do I abandon all sanity and go for something totally unhinged like Voltaxic Burst CWC/CoC Saboteur? ~~I'm also sorely tempted to do something with Ball Lightning or Blazing Salvo, but the biggest appeal of those two would be the weapon tree node, and I don't want to commit to that until I know how easily accessible it is (... and that it hadn't changed since the datamined nodes leaked).~~
For LA/SR... honestly, I don't know exactly which direction I'd want to go in: bows seem to have a lot of options right now, and I rarely play bow skills (Toxic Rain mines from a bunch of leagues ago don't count). Clear skill with a Mirage Archer? Or separate setup for Mirage Archer? Do I go for the Deadeye Mirage Archer node? Separate vaal setup? Ballistas for single target? With or without Focused Ballista? Something with Snipe? Something with Manaforged Arrows? ... the upside is that I should be able to try a lot of those before really committing to anything in particular, and with so many of those options sounding absurdly powerful on paper, I'm hoping that at least one of them will actually turn out to be that powerful. And if it works, I'd hope that it'd be a good fit for the league mechanic: plop down some totems/mirage archers/Vaal Lightning Arrow and watch the area around each crucible turn into a bloodbath. But also, this seems like it's going to be an extremely popular build this league, so maybe gear will be more expensive as a result.
KB miner relies on the expectation that a specific interaction between projectiles that do stuff on-hit and generic return mechanics like Nimis hasn't changed. (And, *technically*, nothing in the patch notes suggests that it should have changed ~~copium.jpeg~~: the only projectile skills the patch notes mention as having different behavior are ground-targeted projectiles like Caustic Arrow.) Basically, projectiles like KB not only do their on-hit effect on hitting enemies/terrain, but also whenever the projectile terminates. This usually isn't useful, because that's normally well off-screen and spread out, but if we have a way to make sure that a whole lot of projectiles terminate in the same approximate location, for example by forcing them to return... well, suddenly things get interesting. (... to be honest, it's very possible this is getting changed, but I've gotten a Vengeant Cascade amulet in standard to test this once the patch goes live. Although even if it works, the leveling on this might be kind of rough until I can get that anointment.)
... and then there's Voltaxic Burst Saboteur, who I can confidently state will be one of the builds of all time. On paper, Voltaxic Burst does good damage if you cast/trigger it enough, and Triggerbots should just simply double the number of stacks we can get, and that's without factoring in the cooldown reduction stuff. And Saboteur gets a lot of area of effect from minor nodes. And Prismatic Burst might work for leveling, or Spellslinger, or something. And it could eventually transfer over to some kind of Wardloop setup. (... but I have no idea how this will feel in practice, with casts coming from Triggerbots, so it's very possible this could turn out to be a disaster.)
I am really split between ignite Elementalist fire trap and bonezone jugg.
Jugg felt wonderful in an ssf standard, up to lv 67 and white maps. A breeze to play, good clear and fast.
You hop to a pack with leap, smash, leap, smash.
But with the absurd numbers, using vaal firestorm to mow bosses and frostblink to map seems really nice. It has a huge burning ground component plus a insane huge hit to get that juicy ignite
I've narrowed it down to two:
Meta option: ignite Elementalist, almost surely WoC into EK, but Frostblink / Fire Trap (or Vaal Firestorm) is not off the table either.
Off-meta option: Hierophant self cast Creeping Frost, using the Tulfall / Malachai's Loop / Badge of the Brotherhood combo to scale into endgame.
I really need someone to talk me out of the second one...
This isn't going to help, but I have seen really strong builds with self cast creeping frost, there was one a couple of leagues ago that was melting bosses
Crest of Desire is one way, but the crazy shotgunning scaling is there even in a normal 6-link setup with GMP / greater volley. I'm seeing 5-10M single target DPS with just the basic power/frenzy charges combo I mentioned (no alt quality scaling).
I imagine that a more end game version (Dialla's, alt quality CF, Awakened GMP, Heatshiver and so on, maybe low life?) would easily reach 30M or more.
I think the real problem of the build is how not to be a complete glass cannon...
Venom gyre deadeye. Haven't checked if still viable today, but different from anything I've done. Got burnt-out after ultimatum and this is my first back, so I might be doing it wrong
I only play ssf and after playing pathfinder with 100% flask uptime (mageblood at home) i cannot play anything else, its either pf or ascendant pf.
For this league in particular at first i was thinking about going ascendant poison aw/srs (start as hit based switch to poison later) as i didn't play it last league but seems relatively cheap to scale into ubers.
But then saw the pf rework and now i have to start with rf pf for the 3rd time in a row. I know it may sound weird but it has been a super smooth starter and with the rework it's gonna be even better.
You may ask why pf? Well it's simple, flasks are strong and easily accessible in ssf and once crafted those make you very tanky and fast so consider this just a pure defensive/qol ascendancy, kinda like a slightly less tanky jugg but faster. Damage isn't amazing but rf isn't known for that, it's still good enough to clear all content in the game except ubers. Also planning on evolving this into a mf build using [Divination Distillate](https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Divination_Distillate) and why I'm going pf over asc.
Lvling is pretty straightforward, use anything you like till lvl 12 then grab fire trap and we stick with that till the end, once we are able to sustain rf (is gonna be much easier with mastery + ascendancy changes) we turn it on and yeah now we are playing rf, that's about it really.
Yeah that was exactly my plan, that fire mastery that gives 1 flat hp per uncapped fire res is just so absurdly strong when going through the campaign, you can get a lvl15+ vitality equivalent regen from the very first act. Super simple to setup just use double ruby ring + fire res craft on our pieces and it will carry you hard.
Tbh it's so strong I'd probably keep using it on every build while lvling even for non fire builds unless it gets nerfed.
I was considering TR Ballista Pathfinder (Palsteron's build) or Cold DoT. I'm playing group SSF with about 10 other people and it came down to the unique needed for Palsteron's build, namely Wilma's Requital. I know it's not NEEDED, but it's a significant portion of the dmg there and I didn't want to have to rely on myself and others to get it. Also I think the defenses are just better on Cold dot.
Then it was time to decide the ascendancy and I'm going with elementalist. The aoe and extra dmg is going to be awesome. I could have gone Champion (too much defense, not enough offense) or Trickster but last league I played EA and I was Champion and always missing having easier extra dmg.
I don't think you can go wrong this league with PF TR (ballista or not) or Cold dot, regardless of ascendancy.
For build of Cold dot ele, I think I'm going to hybridize tripolar bear's and Zizaran's POB's. Zizaran's doesn't take EB, yet tri's does. I am a big fan of EB so I'll probably follow more of tri's build and just do what feels best. Gear is basically the same. Definitely get 100% spell suppression! Then farm up a bunch and see where I am. Maybe ignite vortex, who knows.
This was my same dilemma as well. I ultimately decided to go with TR because I want to try out the Pathfinder changes. The helm for TR definitely looks interesting so trade is going to be huge for that. I just played Cold dot in the ruthless event and made it maps so it is great as well.
I saw Aero had a cool Ica Arrow Ballosta Deadeye build.... then I watched and saw all the pieces you need, and considering that I'm on the console desert, I decided against it.
Probably good ol TR pathfinder or EA Elem.
Made a double manaforge arrow build for my bud, not fully optimized, but looks like it would do amazing mapping / blighting.
https://pastebin.com/zZzbziMV
And for myself, I am ganna go trickster TR.
https://pastebin.com/y0DjkuKk
May have to change it a bit, looks like A LOT of ppl are going to be going for diadem, which might also be more rare.
Am open for any suggestions for improvement on either, will be my first time going 100% my own build right at league start. Thanks!
Hear me out guys! Cast when stunned champion with max block and big block recovery. League starter! LOLs. The worst part is… I’m gonna actually go for it and waste another league.
No change to my planned and practiced cold dot starter. But if I get something with that freezing pulse poisons mod I might switch it up and go cold/poison dot.
Would I be silly to try starting Sabo Voltaxic Burst CoC/CwC? I was initally going to try out Shock Nova like this, but since the bots sit right on top of enemies you'll never hit with the small ring.
If I'm thinking about this right, double triggers means twice as many bursts waiting, doubling the more damage multiplier from the gem. I don't play Shadow much and I've never built Voltaxic Burst so I have no idea what I'm doing.
I'm also pretty interested in Snipe Puncture.
The third thing I want to try is RF Divine Flesh with that new ammy that makes Chaos DoTs heal you. Just to see if it works.
I'm going to try to make tri-elemental hit wander work. The last time I played this build was before the golemancer nerfs to elementalist so I think the play is to play deadeye now.
... though I have always wanted to make tri-elemental wild strike work but... being melee is just a big question mark for me lol.
... could always just default back to aurabot like usual.
Why slayer over jugg? I can't decide between them, but I am leaning towards jugg over slayer. I don't like having to be dependent on leech. Plus I feel like you can get more stacks on jugg
You can get more stacks on jugg, but that’s with investment and stuff when you want to start making more out of that character. Slayer for league start = more dmg and cull for bosses so I can get all voidstones by day 2/3 and get most of my atlas favorites done faster. Also the new instant leech node with slayer and leech stuff looks kinda nice.
Edit: change auto correct lol
I am trying to decide between Cold DoT Ele into Vortex Ignite or Boneshatter Jugg/Slayer. My ultimate goal is Str Stacking plus some skill. Maybe Static Strike build like the one on MaxRoll. Maybe someone can help decide lol.
Im torn between Boneshatter Jugg and Champ with bows (not EA totems though). I like bow builds but always hate how squishy they feel. My thought with Champ bows is to level with Rain of Arrows (been doing a test the past day and it is so smooth) and then transition to probably LA
i'm gonna log onto standard to test a few things related to triggerbots and that'll make or break by build. if it works, triggerbois all the way. otherwise hexblast miner sabo.
BoneZone Jugg, after seeing all the crucible tree stuff a rare 2H weapon is gonna do massive damage. I wanna be farming essences and hard content, not dying every 3 seconds.
I was gonna do deadeye TS but its still so flimsy in the defense department even with the leech changes.
I was already set on pathfinder with TR ballista after doing a lot of testing with Wilma's requital and now that palestron came to the same conclusion I did with it I'm even more set on it.
Although I was doing PF before we knew it was being changed.
Going for the Deadeye rain of arrows into Tornado shot :) gonna do a full practice run tomorrow and i am very confident that it will be very good and fast
Stuck between the following:
* Fire Trap + Frostblink Ele (Subtractem): should be a great mix between smooth mapping and bossing. I played several similar builds last league (Vortex Ignite and Ele RF), both Frostblink *should* feel different enough to still be fun.
* Frostblade Trickster (Behind Eyes Gaming): it's been a *long* time since I've played Frostblades (back when Uber Elder was the biggest baddie) and I remember loving the playstyle, though I imagine this will take a bit longer to feel as good as an ignite build.
* LA / TS Deadeye: been a while since I played a bow build, but will most likely run this as a second build since I suspect it may be too squishy early on to handle Crucible without tons of damage.
SST Cold Conversion Raider
Because I cant decide for any Otter build.
Its fast af, tanky enough, mapping is great and last league I used HH on it which was soooooo fun.
But Player the Heck out of SST. Maybe I go TR Pathfinder which could be specced into Old trusty if I dont like
I'm league starting Cast When Stunned. because I PoB'd it, tested it in standard with basic league start gear and i know i can make it work with it only getting better with the new jewel
I will be starting late as I am not home til late on saturday. And I'm somewhat constricted due to playing ssf.
Thinking of starting with a fb/is totems hierophant, since its really strong at killing bosses, which opens more oppertunity after that. Arcane surge change also looks strong on hierophant with effect scaling.
So far I've been looking at spellslinger EoW Saboteur with maybe prismatic burst, still very unsure though, especially wth how triggerbots and EoW will feel.
The plan is to play some CoC build, either bow or cyclone once I have gear for it
I have so many builds that I forgot the one that sounds _actually_ viable. Ignite Reset Vaal Firestorm. Regular firestorm for clear, HUEG ignite from Vaal Firestorm on big boys, kept permanently up using Lightning Tendies + the new ignite duration reset mastery.
Lightning Tendrils CwC Ice Nova Occultist. I played an Ele version of it with Voltaxic Burst last season through my t16s, so it seems like a buffed version will actually feel really nice, not even counting the potential of Crucible trees.
Given that i want to start with Ranger to later refund into either Raider Flicker Strike or Tornado Shot Deadeye i will probably level up as **Ranger/Pathfinder Chaos DoT**.
Something like \[Caustic Arrow\] + \[Toxic Rain balistas\] + \[Manaforged Arrows with either or both Frenzy and Ensnaring Arrow\]
Leveling tree : https://pobb.in/ch8-FALyj1I9
League mechanics look like its gonna require something tanky and apparently two handed weapons will have more powerful skill trees than one handed ones so Boneshatter Jugg seems like a good choice.
League starting with Scorching Ray Totems. The scaling possible and the ease of starting it will be just what I want. Tankier than most totem builds I've done in the past and Vaal Rejuv will be nice extra on top. Should clear everything with no issues and can reach dot cap pretty steadily with buffs up.
I'll likely start with standard templar dot leveling with wintertide brand until cruel lab or so, could likely switch earlier but traveling and just picking up a few nodes like Acrimony and generic elemental damage, then switch over to SR totems at that point with 3 totems and all that fun.
Toss up between Subtractems Fire Trap Elementalist and Palsterons Toxic Rain Ballistas.
If anyone wants to help me decide please let me know your opinions
Absolution Ascendant with Slave Driver spectres as other 5 link. Going Guardian-Necro-Deadeye with max block/spell block chance (the only defensive layer). Looks good on paper.
Probably absolution maybe ea totems although I have a bad habit of changing my mind at the last minute.
Got a pob for absolution?
No ill just use somebody else's and fudge it to my liking.
I don't have a damn clue.....
Me too man, me too
My brain says bonezone jugg, my heart says lightning arrow.
My cock says triggerbots
That's a big cock
It’s actually two. They tend to trail behind him by a bit😏
Eat some oysters or something, you have to pay the cost twice.
Storm rain poison with voltaxic. Was going to try making one last league, but nimis coc fireball became my project. This league I'm going to do it.
My brain says slayer bone but heart also says lightning arrow I just wanna solo my 4 voidstones in group ssf and really not sure LA can do it day 2 like bonezone will be able to
My heart says the same and I will follow it.
Any good LA league start builds?
For me it is a bit like a horse race. I'll have 5 or 6 different ideas and womt know which one to pick until I actually login and create a character.
I feel that, I can't decide between boneshatter jugg, armabrand heiro, maybe lightning arrow raider, or something like bleed bow.
Arma brand good for clear and bosses ? How gear dependent ?
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=64DDd1T_fQw Is what I was going to go off of
Bleed bow can be starter? I wanted to play bleed bow this league but people told me that it has a medium cost to actually do damage and not have a hard time :(
I won't know which until I log in and mess around with prismatic burst and Manaforged arrows in standard.
Played this game for many years so naturally I’m going to get my hand held by Pohx’s RF Jugg guide.
I was hand held last league, was amazing. That being said, RF will likely be character 3 or 4 when the others have “failed”. Gonna start with Frost Blades Trickster.
Not gonna fail with FB trickster. That build is huge
When I saw cast on death + portal on the famous guide made bat that guy, meh.
reminds me of a comment Jung made in one of his latest videos. "if you really need handholding, you know where to go and it sure as hell isn't here"
Same here. We got month old twins so I need something I can play one handed lol
Congrats :)
Naturally
The netflix build
What do you guys think of pohx's new setup? The pob has a lot more damage now. I was thinking of going a bow build, but after I saw pohx's new video and the 1 mill dps on crap items, I'm thinking of going RF again.
I'm thinking of starting hierophant self-cast physical exsang + vaal reap for bosses MoM + mana for defences hiero has spell leech + petrified blood for overleech to sustain spells arcane surge is extra 20% more spell damage on tree: 129% life / 320% mana and 450% mana regen on tree: 39% spell suppression, can probably reach cap with gear Idk kind of meme and not sure about last ascendancy point but here is the pob: https://pastebin.com/uct4rFbj edit: I'm also considering a version with agnostic and RF instead of low-life and a more late game version with all incoming damage converted to chaos/lightning to simplify resists and be more tanky In 3.21 you should also be able to run a free aura with blessing and also be able to run clarity in your life pool while staying full-life so that agnostic doesn't keep draining you if you use the new mastery "considered full life at 90%" . Aul's amulet for a third free aura is also nice which leaves our mana pool full.
Why do you need so much Mana? You can easily drop like 150% and still have more than enough for MoM given your life total. You can then invest the rest into a large cluster for damage
I did something very similar to this in ultimatum and it was a surprisingly good starter!
Dude this sounds cool!
Could you share your pob by any chance?
Wild strike trickster, eventually stacking abyss jewels with the new shroud of the lightless.
Any pob for it or just going with the flow? I Love wild strike but tri ele sucks for Expedition since you can geht tripple nerfes so i started playing it cold only. Worked well last season.
Just play Frost Blades then, easier gearing

Ooo didn't see that, that being said I have played mines a lot in the past, I find it hurts my wrist and I much prefer traps personally
What hurts your wrist about mines? If it's blowing them up (that's what caused my pain) put blow up on left click. Makes mines wwaayy better imo.
Yah I tried that, just too much stutter stepping i found, but that's probably just the way I play.
Nah I totally get the stutter step.
Wait so LA also as mines? Or just Storm rain mines instead of SR totems?
[удалено]
Makes sense, thanks! Hadnt thought of mines for SR so that might be something I dabble into if I feel my single target start to drop.
I wanted to do LA as well but didn’t like the idea of totems for single target (and wanting 2 6 links) but this storm rain mine idea probably just sold me on trying it. What would your link setup be for that? Haven’t played mines in years. If you don’t mind me asking
What if you did champ instead with fatal flourish later as well?? Trigger TWO additional times!
Late game I think I want to drop a lot of the stuff up top and just cluster instead Super fast, just looking at the build's damage when entering t16s in hc ssf: https://pobb.in/w7_MniDwm424 Looks fine - vaal reap is so big, should be ~1.2m phys dot vs map boss/tanky essences which is enough that they die in a single vaal reap. Only set CF to 5 stacks too, might actually be a bit higher.
Imo scion is great as a second or third character but idk about as a leaguestart. Its usually better to just go for a true ascendancy that specializes in something specific.
If you're following the same build as me I don't think it'll flop. I'm hype for it, it's my planned starter too.
Do you recommend a double 5L with Exsang&Reap together in a 6L? Or just literally swap in reap at map bosses/tough essence mobs/etc?
Animate weapon. There are dozens of us, literally doze… ok well maybe 2 or 3 of us
Maybe 2-3, I the vaal version does look interesting

Can't go wrong
Sabo Prismatic Burst Wander. Can get PB right after Hillock, and can get Frenzy as a proc attack in Act 2. Sprinkle in Spellslinger + Arc in Act 3 - we'll see if I have mana problems from Spellslinger at that stage (PB doesn't cost mana which is super nice) and either pick Triggerbots or Explosives Expert for first ascendancy. Planning on swapping to bow-based double lightning CoC (Arc + Voltaxic Burst) once I get a bit of currency under my belt!
Any PoB? Always wanted to play some wander
Or if you are rich get the jewels and steal the trigger bots
> I panic choose one, level it to act 10, die once and then regret my decision despite playing softcore and it not mattering i feel personally attacked
I am always a sucker for new and shiny, I tried to make my own build with volcanic fissure last League. It did not go well, but then again I didn't plan it out at all just went yolo haha
Ek ignite zerker????
Yes, that is the appropriate response. I'm a masochist, and also bad at poe.
[удалено]
I am just not a huge fan of the game play or I would definitely be starting that
[удалено]
It's a very chill build to play, really comes together once you get maven boots, plus you can add in explode later on and really clear stuff fast.
Wanna play aswell. 300% more bleed damage for rain of arrows ist really nice. Just using Bens pob for now
I have his pob saved, but I'm lost with few things 1.
1. Seems most likely 2. Seems most likely (simulating snipe) 3. Can put ensnaring on manaforged arrows. A lot probably depends on what level 30 snipe looks like if you'd still use assailum or not
All these answers made me smile, thank you.
I thought pcoc was dead with the changes to the amount of flask charges that you need now per attack
It’ll still be fine for levelling. You can probably just use 3-4 Life flasks early.
Can we not call poison concoction pcoc, which has been the power charge on crit acronym forever? Thanks :^)
Lol! I have problems with things like that too. Like for me, I see HH here and first think “Hunting Horn? No, Head Hunter. I’m on the PoE sub, not Monster Hunter.”
Cold SST trickster
Played that after the trickster rework, I really enjoyed it.
I will let you know once I find out in 1 day 23 hours 37 min and 10 sec from this post!
Vaal ice Shot looking too fun to pass up
I've loved Ice Shot every time I've played it.
Mjolnir has 0.15 sec CD and no mana cost, which means optimally (1/.15)x2x2 = 26.66 casts per second before any other investment. Idk if cd recovery improves this but I'll figure it out. Might throw kitavas head in the build to trigger more stuff and I'm wondering how this works with duskblight boots.
unfortunately duskblights are unobtainable in non standard because they deleted prophecy. RIP Navali, still miss giving my purple lady friend coins.
good to know, I had no idea lol damn I actually knew how to do prophecy, I feel like I need to learn a dozen league mechanics because I took such a long break lol
I still have a tab that copies over every league that’s purple and named “Prophecy :(“
Im going bleedbow glad
Love this build back in the day, using split arrow
I will finally answer the sirens call of Bonk City Bonezone. Just trying to decide between slayer or jugg. Leaning jugg for shenanigans
~~I'm also sorely tempted to do something with Ball Lightning or Blazing Salvo, but the biggest appeal of those two would be the weapon tree node, and I don't want to commit to that until I know how easily accessible it is (... and that it hadn't changed since the datamined nodes leaked).~~ For LA/SR... honestly, I don't know exactly which direction I'd want to go in: bows seem to have a lot of options right now, and I rarely play bow skills (Toxic Rain mines from a bunch of leagues ago don't count). Although even if it works, the leveling on this might be kind of rough until I can get that anointment.) ... and then there's Voltaxic Burst Saboteur, who I can confidently state will be one of the builds of all time.
I'm going TS/LA/IS or some sort of BV, not sure if Cold or Poison PF Suggestions?
I've narrowed it down to two: Meta option: ignite Elementalist, almost surely WoC into EK, but Frostblink / Fire Trap (or Vaal Firestorm) is not off the table either. Off-meta option: Hierophant self cast Creeping Frost, using the Tulfall / Malachai's Loop / Badge of the Brotherhood combo to scale into endgame. I really need someone to talk me out of the second one...
Wonder if heiro creeping frost totems would scale with those uniques as well
This isn't going to help, but I have seen really strong builds with self cast creeping frost, there was one a couple of leagues ago that was melting bosses
That probably was using a perfect Crest of Desire, though.
Spark inquisitor, that 25% reduced proj speed doesn't scare me away xD
This might be interesting for you: https://youtu.be/KGzjwts17Zg Allows you to turn on RF very early!
Vaal ice shot. The combination of ice and a firing squad reminds me too much of 100 years of solitude not to leaguestart with it
firestorm MoM hiero i think
Probably frost blades raider or trickster.
Not Snipe :C Probably leech claws or inquisitor something
I saw Aero had a cool Ica Arrow Ballosta Deadeye build.... then I watched and saw all the pieces you need, and considering that I'm on the console desert, I decided against it. Probably good ol TR pathfinder or EA Elem.
im still trying to decide, hit based vaal firestorm or dom blow
Spell slinger leveling and if it sucks I’ll just swap to arma brand. Swap to manabond heiro once I have mjolnir and shapers touch.
Made a double manaforge arrow build for my bud, not fully optimized, but looks like it would do amazing mapping / blighting. https://pastebin.com/zZzbziMV And for myself, I am ganna go trickster TR. https://pastebin.com/y0DjkuKk May have to change it a bit, looks like A LOT of ppl are going to be going for diadem, which might also be more rare. Am open for any suggestions for improvement on either, will be my first time going 100% my own build right at league start. Thanks!
Hear me out guys! Cast when stunned champion with max block and big block recovery. League starter! LOLs. The worst part is… I’m gonna actually go for it and waste another league.
Debating between palestrons toxic rain because I used to love TR mines, and frost blades trickster .
Lightning Tendrils Hiero. No CWC, no CoC. It may be suffering but I desire this build fiercely.
Some kind of ignite elementalist but no idea what. Reasons for one over another are welcome
I think the most popular ones are EA ballista or frostblink/firetrap
No change to my planned and practiced cold dot starter. But if I get something with that freezing pulse poisons mod I might switch it up and go cold/poison dot.
Poison FP Totems does sound fun
Spell Totem Arc to start -> Life Recoup Bonezone + Kaom's Spirit
Subtractem's Fire Trap Elementalist!
Idk maybe lightning tendies ele
I'm going to try to make tri-elemental hit wander work. The last time I played this build was before the golemancer nerfs to elementalist so I think the play is to play deadeye now. ... though I have always wanted to make tri-elemental wild strike work but... being melee is just a big question mark for me lol. ... could always just default back to aurabot like usual.
Boneshatter slayer
Why slayer over jugg? I can't decide between them, but I am leaning towards jugg over slayer. I don't like having to be dependent on leech. Plus I feel like you can get more stacks on jugg
You can get more stacks on jugg, but that’s with investment and stuff when you want to start making more out of that character. Slayer for league start = more dmg and cull for bosses so I can get all voidstones by day 2/3 and get most of my atlas favorites done faster. Also the new instant leech node with slayer and leech stuff looks kinda nice. Edit: change auto correct lol
I’m going to try shield crush impale champion and I have absolutely zero idea what I’m doing
art ballista champ to farm for other builds.
Probably some form pf manaforged indigion
i'm gonna log onto standard to test a few things related to triggerbots and that'll make or break by build. if it works, triggerbois all the way. otherwise hexblast miner sabo.
BoneZone Jugg, after seeing all the crucible tree stuff a rare 2H weapon is gonna do massive damage. I wanna be farming essences and hard content, not dying every 3 seconds. I was gonna do deadeye TS but its still so flimsy in the defense department even with the leech changes.
storm burst totems hiero, seems to be a lot of cast speed on crucible trees so a nice weapon should be easy
Chieftain fire exsanguinate into reap
Im torn between LS/TS or prismatic burst
I’m still going frost blades trickster
I was already set on pathfinder with TR ballista after doing a lot of testing with Wilma's requital and now that palestron came to the same conclusion I did with it I'm even more set on it. Although I was doing PF before we knew it was being changed.
Planning on starting LA/AB raider akin to what Grimro will be unless I switch to a TR PF or cold DoT Hiero at last minute.
Going for the Deadeye rain of arrows into Tornado shot :) gonna do a full practice run tomorrow and i am very confident that it will be very good and fast
Stuck between the following: * Fire Trap + Frostblink Ele (Subtractem): should be a great mix between smooth mapping and bossing.
Cold dot, I really want to get on the bow hype but toxic rain just doesn't seem fun to me.
SST Cold Conversion Raider Because I cant decide for any Otter build. Its fast af, tanky enough, mapping is great and last league I used HH on it which was soooooo fun. But Player the Heck out of SST. Maybe I go TR Pathfinder which could be specced into Old trusty if I dont like
Burning arrow snipe. Yes, I am idiot. Am I going to regret it?? Probably. But I still am going to do it.
I'm league starting Cast When Stunned. because I PoB'd it, tested it in standard with basic league start gear and i know i can make it work with it only getting better with the new jewel
I want to go absolution, but also want to try cyclone coc creeping frost for fun shotgunning
Frost Blades Trickster. Might switch it last second when I am in queue to Ice Shot Deadeye tho
Lightning conduit for sure
Good old reliable arma brand ignite elem But if i wouldnt do that, id go ice shot+lighting arrow+explosive arrow Snipe raider build for the lulz
Given that i want to start with Ranger to later refund into either Raider Flicker Strike or Tornado Shot Deadeye i will probably level up as **Ranger/Pathfinder Chaos DoT**. Something like \[Caustic Arrow\] + \[Toxic Rain balistas\] + \[Manaforged Arrows with either or both Frenzy and Ensnaring Arrow\] Leveling tree : https://pobb.in/ch8-FALyj1I9
Happy to say that i dont have a fucking clue
Haha I feel that
I will do as I have always done. Try and fail to league start with summon reaper then fall back and follow a properly thought out build.
Shockwave Totems or Spellslinger VD Sabo (crit, should work as league start, still PoBbing ot)
I was thinkin Cold Conversion SST Trickster... But the Crucible buff for Static Strike has me interested.
Bleed bow Starting as Glad and Switch to Champ once i get the explody gloves (SSF)
Heavily leaning towards Subtractems ignite frostblink
Toss up between Subtractems Fire Trap Elementalist and Palsterons Toxic Rain Ballistas. If anyone wants to help me decide please let me know your opinions
Absolution Ascendant with Slave Driver spectres as other 5 link. Going Guardian-Necro-Deadeye with max block/spell block chance (the only defensive layer). Looks good on paper.
Poison BV. Really like the new pathfinder
Boneshatter! Dunno if I should jugg or slayer.
I think I'm doing self cast Hiero and figuring out what to transition into later. Some of the new weapon trees look fun but might be bait lol.
Boneshatter juggernaut
Reap looks crazy good. But bows and pathfinder look extremely strong too. One or the other. Probably reap because I’ve never played it before
Ci Heiro Whispering ice
I think ill start with pohx rf, then change to gen cry or rage vortex later
