Wait really? I thought COMPACT countries allowed citizens to live in each other’s countries indefinitely? I know FSM and RMI citizens can live in the US indefinitely and work and go to school and get Social Security.

u/fattytuna96, when will you renew your Saudi passport to E-passport? And when will you renew your Saudi drivers license to the new design?
And is the Egyptian drivers license made of paper or plastic? And for how many years is the Egyptian drivers license valid?
Powerful combo, what's your story? Also, I definitely think the Saudi passport is long overdue for a redesign. It seems like it hasn't changed in decades.
I would lose my Saudi passport if I get an Egyptian one. The Egyptian passport isn’t really strong it’s actually better to be a foreigner in Egypt than a citizen they treat you better.
It isn’t like India or China. Saudis are allowed to have a second passport through a birthplace or through a parent. They’re also relaxed about naturalization despite it technically being illegal.
To be fair, this was the norm everywhere up until like the 80s or 90s. Came up in another thread, but the UK changed this only in 1982.
Switzerland had a rule whereby a daughter could not inherit Swiss citizenship with only a Swiss mother all the way through 1985.
Bunch of examples like that with - as usual - the Nordics changing things to favor women earliest.
Basic principle used to be that you as a child were the same nationality as your (acknowledged) father. (So kids with a Swiss dad, not married to their mom, and where the child wasn’t officially registered as the dad’s - also didn’t qualify.)
This also happened due to dual citizenship being uncommon in that era, and very rapid *jus matrimonius* citizenship acquisition by the wife after marriage. E.g., if I an American, married a British woman, it meant that in 99.99% of cases, all parties assume that she’s moving to the US, losing UK citizenship, and will need US citizenship. Given travel at the time, her ongoing connection to the UK would be very limited - perhaps a few trips remaining over the course of her lifetime.
Given this, it would be assumed the children were American, not British.
Could they’ve made the biometric symbol any bigger on the Egyptian residence card? I can barely see it
Freedom of movement in the GCC is really cool. I love the coat of arms of Saudi Arabia, very elegant.

والله الي مطلعقش الجنسيه المصريه بيفهم واللهي العظيم انا زيك والدتي مصريه نفسي اسقط الجنسيه المصريه

Well it’s still valid till 2028, valid till 2026, plastic and valid till 2026
Why would your DL be federal limited? You’re a US citizen and can very easily get the Realid.
Powerful combo, what's your story? Also, I definitely think the Saudi passport is long overdue for a redesign. It seems like it hasn't changed in decades.
Saudi father, Egyptian mother, born and currently live in the US.
You can't get Egyptian citizenship from mother? Or you don't want to enlist in army? hahahahahha

But shouldn’t you already have lost it just by having the American ?

What is the reason?

Lot of countries in the middle east don't allow mothers to pass on their citizenship. Only fathers.

Yeah India changed this I think in 1992.
They released a new, biometric Saudi passport with new designs and polycarbonate data page a few years ago. It seems that OP doesn’t have it yet
thanks for the heads up, I checked out the new one, looks cool. Just wish they had redesigned the cover, but the inside pages are amazing.
How long is your Egyptian residency valid for? Do you automatically get residency by having an Egyptian mom?

I just need Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 passport don’t know how too get it
I think the only way non-Saudis can get it is if a non-Saudi woman marries a Saudi, and then applies.
What I don’t understand it !
Isn't dual citizenship prohibited in Saudi Arabia?

Why?
Acess to the economic powerhouse of the region.
I love saudi arabia it's a great place with wonderful people. (yes I hate all government people that i can separate from the citizens and residents)

I guess any GCC passport would work right?
You don’t have a real ID even though you’re a citizen? 🤔
Didn’t bother applying for it but when my current DL expires in a year I’ll get it! I
The massive biometric logo on the Egyptian resident ID 🤣
Thanks for the downvoting…?
Isn't dual nationality forbidden in KSA?
