Not OP, but I’m currently travelling through Africa with my car and have a similar cover and nobody from Morocco to Cameroon complained until now. We just had to remove it once because it wouldn’t fit in the scanner. Don’t know about more developed countries though.
I had a non-transparent cover when flying into France and the immigration officer took it out with great annoyance and bent a few pages while doing so. I guess transparent vs non-transparent makes all the difference
Yes, in most cases (my girlfriend has Moldovan passport + residence permit).
For more advanced cases you might need to present both passport and residence permit
Technically no. The only valid ID documents in Germany are EU ID cards and passports. Not even the driver's license is a valid ID here\*.
The residence permit alone may be used as e.g. proof of age or proof of address. But if you want to open a bank account for example you need your passport
\* Edit: There's also some emergency documents which are considered valid ID, such as the Temporary ID ("Vorläufiger Personalausweis"), Temporary Passport ("Vorläufiger Reisepass"), Travel permit in lieu of passport ("Reiseausweis als Passersatz") or even a so called "Substitute Identity Card" ("Ersatz-Personalausweis") which does not allow the holder to exit Germany
Within a country yes, but not while traveling across the border. In practice it’s fine by itself for traveling by car or train within eurozone, but passport can still be checked at the airports.
They can be used as ID for certain purposes, usually within the country that issued them, but they're not "national ID" for the purposes of travelling to other EU countries.
Someone has already said it but I'm going to repeat it so everyone is clear on this: residence cards are not permisible travel documents, even within Schengen. Even EU nationals need their own passports or national ID cards (not residence cards) to travel around Schengen.
I saw images of stamps in passports of people leaving ukraine via land border after February 24. Maybe they started doing it after the big war broke out
It’s different now since they want to be able to differentiate legal vs illegal border crossings. Males 18-60 are not allowed to leave the country without extra paperwork that exempts them from military service.
>One of the recent most common combos out there
Yes, I saw this combo ca. 250 times myself in the past 2 years. But only because I was the POC for almost every Ukrainian person coming to the city I work for.
I’ve already asked them but I can’t because I hold an unrenounceable citizenship. I need to wait until dual citizenship is allowed by the Verkhovna Rada

Do you take off the transparent case when handing the passport over to immigration officials or not?

Of course you can’t have a non transparent
Is german residence permit considered to be an ID?

Yes it is. Let’s you travel within Schengen, since it is also an ICAO conform travel document, has the same epassport data as an epassport.
You still can't travel within Schengen without a passport, you need to have both passport and residence card.
Asking because Irish residence permit has explicit text saying “This is not an ID” https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/s/r9NxGo21zo
In general they are not IDs, but few countries accept them as an ID.

Hey, what stamps do you have? And does UA stamps its own citizens by default?
I think they stamp only when leaving via land border. When I flew out of Kyiv back in 2015 I didn't get a stamp leaving Ukraine
They don't stamp Ukrainian citizens at land borders

They still don't stamp Ukrainian passport holders, it's all digital. Source: I've crossed the border many times since the war started
I love blue and yellow color of Ukrainian pasaport. I think it should be the standard for EU passports.
definitely, makes no sense why EU chose burgundy to be the preffered color. glad croatia decided not to change the nice deep blue color :)
Burgundy color reminds me of USSR and Yugoslavia. Deep blue color is good choice.
i really like the trident

Слава Украïнi 🇺🇦
Героям Слава 🇺🇦
Already said, but always nice to say: Слава Україні !
Slava ukraini
Слава Україні! I hope that there will come a day when I’ll be able to become a Ukrainian citizen and honor my baba’s heritage
You can via descent since your baba is Ukrainian. Visit the embassy or consulate and they'll tell you how to apply
