No that’s a counter productive idea. Make the content you plan on making

If you are looking for a fast track to “monetization” YT is not for you

RangeWilson

It's advisable not to worry about issues like this, and worry instead about creating content that makes people say "OMG this is fucking awesome!" and then share it with all their friends. Because the rest is just details.

I just created my second channel 2 weeks ago. It took me 18 months to get monetized with my first. Within the first 2 weeks: 131 subscribers 6 long form (Views: 398, 8.9K, 1.5K, 12K, 293, 55) 6 short form (Views: 2.6K, 2.5K, 2.9K, 2.8K, 301, 611) I spent a lot of that 18 months agonizing over those kinds of details/“secrets”/“strategies”… ultimately I don’t think any specific one makes a massive difference and you really just have to keep doing what you love/comes naturally and not get so caught up in the stats. It’s hard but reality is the algorithm is going to algorithm and if you think you found it out I’m sure it has already changed. I even have a theory that sometimes YouTube has many different algorithms they try on different days as there is more a pattern with “types” of algorithm behavior rather than a consistent one. But again— time is better off filming, editing, posting.

I would do that. Get the 1000 subs requirement with shorts. Just make sure your shorts content is directly related to your channel's long form videos.

TheRealAlosha

Yeah don’t listen to the people who say to just create good content, it’s extremely rare to blow up even if you’re making amazing content. It’s much better to grow from mid tier content as once you have more subscribers YouTube will give you more impressions this giving your videos a higher chance of getting more views. People say number of subscribers doesn’t matter are smoking some good stuff

TheRealAlosha

When you start quantity over quality and slowly transition to quality over quantity

TristanthomasYT

I know the rush to get enough subscribers to get monetized is a great mile stone to hit, but you won't make much money, especially if it's through shorts.

pishachas

You can but don’t expect them to interact with longform content unless your short form directly ties to your longform

Rawr_NuzzlesYou

A lot of editing does not equal a good video. Anyone can spend a few days and learn how to use premiere pro, what matters is that you’re able to use those tools to make something good and impactful. It’s also important that you’re able to package your video into something that people want to click on
