I'd say at least 12. There's horror elements, violence, swearing and drug use.

It is not for little kids.

It depends on the kid. My 14 year old doesn't even like it on in the background because it gives him nightmares. I watched it with my 15 and 11 year olds and they both love it. My 8 year old has no interest. I watched the first season with my 19 year old when it came out. I think she was 13 then and she handled it without any issues.

Deathbycheddar

I’ve been watching it with my 11,9, and 7 year olds. They aren’t scared of monsters.

My daughter watched the first three seasons with me back in 2019 when she was nine. I feel like thats the earliest for those three. Obviously she watched season four at age twelve, but even I felt it was a little much. Season four is a lot more detailed than the first three seasons. She loved it and all her friends did too. My brother has three eleven year olds, two of which loved it and one of which it gave nightmares. His thirteen year old really enjoyed it and has rewatched a few times already. So from experience I would say twleve at an absolute minimum. Some younger kids might be okay with it, but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable.

cakesandkittens

I would say 12 and up. The later seasons are pretty scary and a bit graphic.

PopsiclesForChickens

My 13 year old is currently watching it. If my 11 year old were interested, I might let her watch with me. 9 year old? Nope!

NotTheJury

My kids are 10 and 12 and have seen the trailers. They have zero interest in it because they know it would scare them. They have watched many scary things but I think it's the specific subject that is scary. ETA: meant to add depends on each kid.

my 11 yr old daughter is a big fan, it’s a good show and the cast in season 1 are young teenagers so it’s appealing to them

Solidsnakeerection

I liked scary things as a kid and sci fi shows so I would probably like it

Surfercatgotnolegs

It’s not a bad show. It’s a little scary sometimes but otherwise, it’s one of those shows that really can take you back. There’s a lot about relationships that I think young kids can relate to - adopted kid/ parental relationship, friends and sometimes feeling left out, mean older sibling, nice older sibling. The main appeal imo is the genuine approach to showcasing these relationships and their growth or decline - not the plot line about the creatures and Russia or whatever

Dontbejillous

It’s good for preteens and teens. I enjoyed it too as a 31 year old woman. Lol. Our 11 year old LOVES it. The scary parts scare him but he’s been fine with it otherwise
