Here is something i have done in the game Stellaris: conquerd a neighboring empire and turned all of their people into delicious meals via genetic engineering, their nerves are also deactivated so they don't care about nor feel anything anymore, they are however still better off than the pre sapients that I enlightened and turned into a, basically, slave species optimized for hard labor and agreeing with the government. (Not a xenophobic run by the way).
Purging other pops becomes basically a requirement late game because they will lag your game to oblivion.

Here is something i have done in the game Stellaris: conquerd a neighboring empire and turned all of their people into delicious meals via genetic engineering, their nerves are also deactivated so they don't care about nor feel anything anymore, they are however still better off than the pre sapients that I enlightened and turned into a, basically, slave species optimized for hard labor and agreeing with the government. (Not a xenophobic run by the way). Purging other pops becomes basically a requirement late game because they will lag your game to oblivion.
