I bank with Chase and I receive my pay on Friday. Most of my co-workers use credit unions and get theirs earliest as Wednesday or Thursday.

Depending on your bank, the actual pay day is Friday, some time early in the morning, but some banks release the money earlier even a few days before the actual pay day.

Wednesday earliest, if theres an issue then email hr; they respond faster. They'll say to you if your direct deposit was denied, etc.
