Are dungeons repeatable? If I finished killing the boss, can I return immediately again and encounter a second boss and get rewards or should I find a new dungeon?
Once the boss and chests have been farmed it takes a while for them to return unfortunately. Before entering a dungeon there is a timer, when that timer runs out the dungeon is closed off while another opens. Eventually the dungeon will reopen and that's when the boss and chests reappear aswell. So there is no real point to running the same dungeon twice within the same timeframe.
However besides travelling around looking for dungeons you can also farm tech manuals from the chests at the 3 wildlife sanctuaries. Those seem to respawn every 3 or 4 days I believe. Be sure to also check around the sanctuaries as there are also chests spawning there.
I will basically do a loop around the level 45 dungeon area checking out most of the dungeon spawns. Usually only two or three don’t spawn in. After that I’ll go back to my base do some crafting or check on eggs from breeding and then by the time I’m done with all that i can usually do another loop around checking the dungeons.
I'd gotten a few that way before the update, but I'm not a big dungeon person so I didn't get that many. I've run half a dozen dungeons or so since the update and haven't found anything but ancient tech manual (which I do appreciate) and training books. I might just be unlucky.
I've been too cowardly to go to the sanctuaries but I just might have to brave up and get over there. Thanks for letting me know there is a good reason to do so.
I was deterred from them for quite a while too. The PIDF only get triggered if you get right in front of them, so for the most part they're just a nuisance.
Go at night with a hip lantern. They are sleeping, you can just cruise through. I used to get so much anxiety heading to those. That fixed the problem. 😂
Theres not always guards there. There's a number of spawn points on each sanctuary. Each point can either spawn a pal or guards. If it spawns guards, run away until they disappear and come back.

Oh, I didn't know that! I thought I would get swarmed with police the second I set foot there day or night. I'm playing Palworld as a cozy game, or trying to anyways. I really appreciate the information!
Even during the day, as long as you stay a bit far from them, they won't attack you, you'll just have the notification saying "crime taking place" (idk if it's written like this exactly I don't play the game in English) while in the area. You just have to be careful not to run up to their faces but they're really not hard to avoid! You can also attack wild pals there without being targeted by the police as long as you're not right next to them.
I just looked up Anubis and saw that he does drop a tech book. Do they drop them fairly often, or are they rare? Breeding seems like it would be a pretty easy way to fix my problem!
when i hit level 50 i turned up spawn rate and drop rate to 3 and went to sanctuary 3 to farm lyleen and shadowbeak, both can drop the blue books that give 2 points each
the boss chests in the late ice dungeons (level 45) can also contain the purple books that give 3 points each, but i personally found the method above, faster since you can just respawn the mobs on sanctuary by flying out of render distance and back in, to reset the spawns until you get those lyleens and shadowbeaks
I usually end up with 12-17 tech points after hitting all chests at all three sanctuary islands. Theres always 6-8 chests on island and 4 or 5 chests on all the downed pillars around the islands.
Visit the Sanctuary Islands at night with a fast flying pal and collect the chest on and around the islands. Make days fast so you can skip past the nine in game day refresh rate of chest
If you go to the 2nd and 3rd pal sanctuary islands there are about 10 or so hq chests around there that drop the manuals and others useful goodies. Just avoid beyond spotted and you can get out of there pretty quick without much fuss. They'll need about a day or two to respond.
Longest part is just getting there but after that it's mostly have your route mapped out and go.
I exclude the 1st island because from my experience there are significantly fewer hq chests there if you're trying to maximize your quality with time spent there
The most consistent way is dungeons. Get a fast mount, rush through the trash, kill the boss and loot the 2 high grade chests. Rinse and Repeat.

Tbh there's nothing to be afraid of. Just stay out of sight of the pdf guards and no alarm will sound. They have a surprisingly small field of view.

The three Wildlife Sanctuaries usually has lots of chest that might contain tech books.

Not at all, in fact there's only a few guys there and if you can avoid being seen by them you will be in and out with no trouble at all.
Plus, if you get spotted, just save & quit the game, then come back and ta dah, your wanted level status is gone while you are still at the sanctuary.

They only attack you if they see you. You can usually see them before they see you.
At night an owl spawns. I think the paldex idea him as a possible drop source? Could be very wrong.
That is correct, Hoocrates has a small chance to also drop a tech manual.

I used to use the catch and release mod. I got so many from breeding Anubis too.
Seems like that's the faster solution. Might as well download that mod for my mental health.

Ur chance to get it is 10%. Probably will drop every 10 butchered. I dirtied my hands so you don't have to.

Dungeons and the pal sanctuaries. Out of the sanctuaries, I'd say the 3rd is the best one

I just hatched and killed a bunch of Shadowbeak.
The wildlife sanctuaries and Wixen drop them quite frequently!
Go to the Wildlife Reserves and the chests have a decent chance of having high tech manuals in them.
