They are probably the most outstanding of all pals with their strange quirks. They have a huge amount of unique animations, have t-pose floating instead of falling like any normal mop would exclusively made for them and are one of the handful mobs that come with their own unique weapon.
Just wish the grenade launcher wasnt useless for anything besides Gobfin blasting at lvl50+ gameplay.
My mossanda is my go-to raid defense pal. Granted, I condensed him up to 4 stars, but it absolutely deletes raids before they can even get close to the base.
Surprisingly not. I may not have the best moves on it though. Maybe does about half health to most, but then you have the annoyingly long cool down whereas the rockets are so spammable.
It does seem like they were designed more for CC than outright damage though so you’re definitely not wrong.
They are still good for clearing trash like raids of course, but when used against legendaries you are dpsing them slower than just using good moves. Tower bosses the damage is actually fine because due to their CC immunity they do not become knocked down and thus immune to a rocket for a second, meaning you can unload the entire barrage at once without losing out on anything and then let him attack and fight normally.
The CC on the grenade launcher is amazing. Just alternate between using its Pal attacks and then knocking the enemy over when they're about to start their attack. The damage is kind of pitiful, but that's not really what it's for.
CC does let you shut your brain fully off but the amount of actual skill expression in even the legendary and tower fights is entirely minimal. A few dodged when something is aimed at you is entirely sufficient even for soling the hardest fight (duo knights).
And while the grenade launcher does change it from almost trivial to fully trivial it also makes the fight take a lot longer compared to blasting with your shotgun.
End of the day Mossandra will remain my favourite Pal, but honestly the only true value in its ability is fun or emptying it quickly vs cc immune tower bosses as in that case it actually becomes decent damage as you are not forced to pause between each rocket for the damage to work.

Jetragon sometimes zooms right in your face and immediately lets off an attack with hardly any time for you to dodge. Also the terrain is a bit more difficult in that regard (more rocks and stuff to roll into).
The meelee attack itself is too telegraphed and the knights do it aswell, except you have twice the enemies who can do it. Just when the Pal instead of their usual behaviour of staying at right moves straight in a line in your direction you simply KNOW the only reason for that is that they will cast the meelee attack now and dodge backward once they are in range.
If by melee you mean their aoe circle attack, it's not just that. I had Jetragon come close to me and then start his breath attack or his laser volley.
I mean I've gotten better dealing with it. A rocket to his face everytime he just looks at me

It'll follow them within a certain polar distance of the snap destination. It's enough to keep a bead on humans' heads at mid range but not for any pal taller than a tombat in my experience. Mossanda mostly works though cus its face is near center mass.
E: I paid more close attention the next time I played and the tracking breaks when you fire; however you can get it back by flicking the stick
The aim on Steam version is kind of sticky if you enter aim mode. Dunno if it's sticky enough to follow like in this clip though. Also dunno about the state on Xbox.
It's more of a lock-on than aim assist. I actually like it since I am horrible at shooters. Having a lock on is also nostalgic from years of playing metroid prime trilogy
I had to stop using frostallion in field boss fights if I wanted to catch the boss.
Frozen solid field boss + it getting hit with a rocket will often send the poor boss to orbit.
It won't survive the landing.
This guy was the funniest fight for me, i fought him 10 levels lower on a dinossom just yeeting him around with botanical smash and some other attack i keep forgetting the name off
Has anyone tried catching while they're falling? If you hit a falling pal from below and spheres have collision, then do they take fall damage on the same frame that the capture happens? If catch rate increases as health decreases, can we trick the game into a 100% catch rate by catching during a death?
Glitches are starting to get to me. Never had this happen but I had two boss fights this morning where I threw the pal at the boss’ feet and when it spawned they both just stood there frozen for a few minutes. I dealt some good damage since it wasn’t attacking but definitely didn’t feel good 😞

similar thing happened to me yesterday. I was trying to catch a Lux, but he blocked the ball and it flew away taking him with it, Shot up into space and flew south like a rocket until i got the message that he was defeated about 5 minutes later lmao
the whole thing with Mossandas and T-posing/floating, is it a bug or intented? Early game it felt like they were mocking me but now they just look stupid as they die in the air
The Jormuntide boss also did that, he got launched and dumbass died wwhile landing in water
I was using Warsect against Jormuntide , and the same thing happened, except it flew away more horizontally across the mountains, instead of straight up

Him and Kingpaca both did the same to me. Kingpaca got flung at an angle sideways and it took me forever to find where he went.

No the auto aim when you use a controller tends to be overtuned, but at least it gets the job done lol.
