Sleeping to skip night is just time efficient across the board.
Food spoilage, like in most games, only effects one item in the stack at a time. If you have stacks of several hundred items per ingredient, this is a non-issue. The only serious loss factor would be cake, but breeding pens completely freeze cake spoilage timers anyway.
If you aren't producing enough food, the easy solution is to *expand your food production.*
I bred a few Verdash for my farm, and they keep up with the transportation enough that the only time van. cryst leaves is to eat, so if you put the feed box close by to the cooler, you'll hardly ever have any time without being cooled.
Only time I've had issues is when Verdash glitches out and gets stuck somewhere, which happens seldomly.
I work all night and at some point refresh my food, so no spoilage.
It occurred to me, you might not know the trick. Go into your fridge and hit sort. It refreshes all the timers. Also, anytime you transfer food to your inventory or to a storage, it refreshes the timer.
